Heh. Everyone without detect monsters wants some ranks in spot. Sometimes even them, nondetection is a thing. Nothing like a cranquin sneak attack to ruin your day.

Haaahahaha, I loved the expressions in that video. Especially the :I
I think I was mostly intrigued by humans apparently being speciesist assholes :P

Or at least that pair. It'd be an interesting combination when mixed with the apparent xenophilia.

At this point, I'd probably kind of belatedly remember alchemy and seeing if there's anything along the way that can be harvested. Short of the soul trap glitch, there's not much in Morrowind quite as capable of breaking the game open as the mystic moonshine. Money, land, power, safety... all this and more can be yours through the arcane science of doping to the gills. Including gills! Assuming that's how waterbreathing works, anyway. And that you can find some alchemy equipment.

And yeah, staying away from the mountains right now sounds like a good idea. Cliff racers can't really be outran if they get close to you, ha, and they're a bit less likely to show up away from tall places, iirc.

Also, hey... kinda' wondering if we could use acrobatics as a bit of a baseline stat detection thing, assuming stats exist. Jumping around a bit and seeing if we're suddenly magically jumping higher every few dozen hops would be a rather safe way of seeing if we're under morrowind skill rules, methinks.

Hrm... possibly even better. If it doesn't try to attack, that means you are dealing with mod content, to the extent such a concept exists in this scenario.

... mudcrabs aren't hostile unless you attack, right? Or am I misremembering something?

Because in that particular situation, I'd totally want to set other concerns aside for a few minutes and go see what the mudcrab feels like. New critter of strange textures I can pet that probably won't try to remove a limb! Time to gently poke it and see what mudcrab shell feels like. And maybe if they're tamable. Thinking can come after that.

Though sign is a good idea. Need to find out if we can read the language. Hunting around for someone to eavesdrop on would probably be step two. Step three might be prepping the dumb mute act just to avoid suspicion until you can learn the language. S'going to be interesting if there's major phenotype mismatch with the other species, heh. Don't remember what Morrowind's general reaction to mutants are.

... and maybe see if the chair managed to come with you. That might sell for something.

Awareness is more of an issue, really. Something official like that is somewhat more likely to actually ping the radar of the sort of folks that believe if a thing has no price it has no worth, or the lot that really really want fanfiction but have never seen it and never heard of it (see: 50 shades sales). Bit of a preying/banking on ignorance thing, methinks.

I do rather doubt it's going to go anywhere in particular, though. Not having to go through all the license foofaraw is kinda' part of why a lot of people write fanfiction to begin with.

... is a kind of side along worry that some lackwits up top are going to try to crack down on fanfiction in order to attempt to squeeze a buck out of the concept, though. Good bloody luck with that, but given the general theme of things nowadays...

Doublepost/minor bump to say... I'm kinda' enjoying it a bit.

Have no idea what the blazes I'm doing, but apparently it's drawing killsat shots or something so I think it's a good thing? I'm finding that running around in an AA MAX is... probably the best way I can contribute at the moment. No need to aim :D

Everything kills me, though. Everything. I think I've maybe off'd five or six enemies and, uh. Probably died forty or fifty times. Or more, I'unno. It's almost embarrassing, ha.

Running around as JackThejil when I'm on, yeah. Still haven't really sussed out all the controls et al, but pointing and shooting... I can do. Sorta'. So long as they don't move and there's no allies in the way. And possibly if whatever I'm firing with is homing or AoE >_>

Plenty, from what I understand. S'more water efficient, s'far as I'm aware. I don't, myself, but that's partially because I really freaking like hot water.

I'd use the tub more often, but for whatever reason I have sequentially lived in places that either don't have tubs or have issues with the ones they do :-\

I don't think there is a religion without faith, as that seems to be what the pic is mostly about.
Conceptually Buddhism, actually. Siddhartha was pretty big on the whole "reason this shit out yourself, I'm just offering some possible answers" thing, iirc. Meet buddha on the road, cut him down, etc.

Probably other ones out there, eh. Depends to a degree on what you classify as religion, ha. Classical buddhism was more philosophy than religion, by most standards. Largely because that whole "no metaphysics, idiots" rule Buddha kinda' put down.

And... right now, I can't actually recall what definition I was using for religion last time I cared to actually nail something down. Eh. There's more than one, which one you cleave to changes what fits in it, so forth, so on. People have been arguing off and on about it for a long damn time now, ha.

Ah, extended moment of species squee.

As terrible as we are in many ways, all things being equal humanity really is a thing of awe and splendor. Sometimes I just stop and... revel in it a little. What it's like to be a god made flesh and standing astride the world. Even for the worst off or meanest of us... we live in an age of gods and magi, twisting great truths of reality to their whim, and we often and easily stand among their ranks. We've been doing it for millennium, and the mysteries we exploit in the modern era are just... glorious. Incredible. Incredible beyond incredible.

It's sometimes astounding how mundane the majestic becomes when you start being able to fit it in your pocket. And pockets! Good gods. Think on the concept of a pocket for a moment, and what it means to be able to create and access them basically on demand. Is it not wonderful? And that wonder is but one wonder among multitudinous wonders. Truly the miracles of mankind are far reaching and bountiful.

Still many reaches for them to be spread to, but we gods, what we have accomplished and stand to accomplish going forward. And, of course, the sad side to it, the pettiness and the squabbles and the shortsightedness and so on, standing between current glory and future glory, but that consideration is not for this moment of consideration.

Home sapiens sapiens, my fellow people. We may be bastards at times, but we have yet to meet a bastard quite as awesome. Things would be a bit better if it were cleaving quite so close to the older implication of awesome, but still.

So that's who I blame, huh.

But yeah, I don't really care if it's a console game or whatev', or what other stuff is involved. I just really want ogre battle's battle/unit system... more. On the PC. I really like that kind of hands off limited intervention kinda' thing, but I do like it involved in a wider context. Dom 3 was more enjoyable t'me than gratuitous space battles, ferex, and I'd totes consider Dom 3 a kind of mega-scale ogre battle style system fused into a risk++ game, with GSB stripping that ethos out of an interesting/contiguous context. Some kind of meet-in-the-middle would be... well, potentially glorious, anyway.

It'd just be kinda' great to hurl the little six critter groups around again, in the new millennium. OB64 totes doesn't count, it came out in '99 originally >_>

Neo-geo one might count if anyone ever translates the bloody thing grumblemumble

Opportunity cost, bub. Labor is money. Unless you've somehow rigged a system to do all the moving and heating of water for you, and in that case you've got initial installation investiture and continued operating costs. It's entirely likely you're paying as much or more than those using other systems of water acquisition and heating.

Also, if you've got a well, you're pulling from the aquifer. Not really free. And wood furnace... ach. I'm not sure what the harvesting/utilization costs are for wood burning but I'd imagine there's probably a reason we don't do it much anymore :P

Free... doesn't actually exist. There's only the presence of lack of particular costs, not the lack of costs entirely. Dadadada economics daaa.

Iirc, the demo's time (well, turn) and maybe nation limited, but otherwise fairly comprehensive. Seriously give it a shot before considering buying -- as awesome as Dom 3 is, it's not for everyone and the micro-manage-y bits beyond the battles can get pretty time intensive.

If it's your kinda' thing... probably. Pretty sure there's a demo for Dom3, so... check it out. And possibly the various threads down here on the game (including the ones in the let's play section, per'aps.). Lot of people thought it was worth the price at double that, for what that's worth.
