How do I make beam/laser???
Optical lens.

Incidentally, I'm finding myself saddened that laser wand depreciates badly at the doctorate level. While it does insta-hit, the fact that it lacks a damage bonus really hurts it when most of the enemies have >500 hp. It feels like you really need a couple of damage boosters (I'm not sure if you can safely replace homing+dig. I guess I should try it...) to keep the wand relevant as a damage source. Alchemist stone + illusion dust or seashell's been my way to go, so far. Kinda' thinking about stacking one DoT on the wand and the other on the spell... conceptually, that'd be the highest raw damage combo you could get, I think, with the enchant boost kicking 'em up.

There's also a notable amount of weirdness with beam+diamond (piercing -- the beam stops damaging after the first critter hit), which is a shame. That plus homing and dig would theoretically nail, like, all the things.

You want light show, though, go beam/butterfly/illusion dust (and probably dig). It's kinda' hilarious. Basically hits the entire screen if you've got A/B ranked materials, though it does piss all damage. Swap the beam for mermaid shell for some legit danmaku action, though do make sure to disable the chaos butterfly visual effect (just above the wands, if you missed it) before firing away. This is especially true for the beam.

Currently hitting a bit of a brick wall with doctorate level castle and master level desert. The latter's mostly 'cause of the sandstorm (which'll be pretty trivial to robe-around, honestly, I just haven't gotten around to it), but doctorate castle is kinda' miserable. Freaking books, bombs everywhere, 700 hp ghosts that move faster... s'pretty awful.

E: Actually, if you want to see something both very interesting and incredibly random... go homing/butterfly/dig/diamond. You'll occasionally get to see a wand shot do >1k damage :P 2-500 damage hits aren't exactly rare in the castle... a more open level would be pretty devastating.
E2: Utterly freaking annihilates some of the sandworm forms, actually :D

And then you realize, "Wow, none of this is fun anymore."
You realize that, maybe. Some folks don't. If that's what does it for 'em, that's well and good. They're the ones that get to decide what's fun for 'em, y'know? The best of games are fun regardless as to if you're godmodding or not, anyway.

Me, I like to mix things up, sometimes in parallel. Cheat-blitzing can be fun, playing normally can be fun, buggering with things to change mechanics can be fun. Variety is the spice of gaming.

... I do medium well, which is like well done for people who don't like char. Less cooked than that, I just don't like the taste :-\

At least with beef. Chicken, cook that bugger 'till the outer edge could be used as charcoal for the next meal's cookin'. If I don't have to gnaw, I don't really want it.

My favor meat preparation is "jerky", though. Jerky is the best of things.

If penguin has ahoge, then probably yes. Idiot hair. :V
Well. That line induced one hell of a misread.

... I should probably eat breakfast. Is almost nine PM.

My roommate is cheating at Ocarina of Time. I don't think this guy understands the point of video games.
The point of video games is to have fun, generally,* and I'm fairly sure there's nothing about OoT that places itself in one of the exception niches. If cheating is how th'person has fun, welp. There's a conditional in there with multiplayer, but with single player whatever scratches the itch is fair game.

*Unless I've seriously been missing something all these years.

... I have to admit, that is an artistic medium I had not considered before. Quite impressive. Deserves jokes about sheep, but I find myself lacking material at the moment. Maybe need some wool.

Gwarble. Master level castle. Those frakking books. Anyone have a good method of avoiding getting bookraped? Dodge what I can, but not only are the buggers hard to see, they're fast and start coming at you at odd times :-\

E: The answer was the ice cube... thing. Fairly quickly regenerating extra HP. Still dodging when possible, but the regular bit of extra ablative HP made the difference.

In other news, got a new scroll, which means a 4 material spell. I've now got a roughly 5-600 damage DoT bomb (Explosive powder, fire, poison, poison). It is beautiful. Upgraded wand, too~

... yeah, this is pretty great.

Currently rocking an AoE poison/fire enchant spell, dotting everything to death. Also m'fookin' homing laser wand, hell yeah. Really wish I could find a higher rank burrow thingy, though :-\

E: Also, the music is pretty good so far, t'me.

The cosmic turtle may rest on hamstone, true. But the hamstone rests on turtles. It really is turtles all the way down, but there are admittedly interstitial (in this case, ones empty of turtle if not necessarily other matter) layers before you hit maximal turtle dispersal.

... I am now terribly amused. I go, "Who the hell is Quinn?" Next free champ rotation? Quinn.

I'd call it serendipity, but given the response to the question it might be just a surprise :P

Obviously, you must triple-down and combine the three.

Mm... and we do kinda' have a problem with segueing off in the innuendo direction, down here. It helps a bit when someone conscientious calls folks on it when it starts getting excessive. B12's not really the place for that sort of thing (though many of the regular posters seem somewhat inclined towards it >_>), and it's ran some people off/kept some folks who'd rather not deal with it from contributing. Not so much a "stop having fun" thing as "please have fun in the appropriately labeled cubicles" sorta' thing, y'know?

What's the Internet Explorer equivalent if there is one?
Mocking laughter in the distance, I think.

... more seriously, IE 8/9 apparently has tab grouping, as well. Just... check the help file or something. Or do a google for IE tab grouping.

Incidentally, tab groups really annoy me and I still haven't figured out how to turn them off in Opera :-\

I have the uneasy feeling that the first thing I'll be doing will be replicating a certain giant golden monument of mine from a certain Terraria server. Possibly as a ship.
A new game, a new opportunity! Do it in gold and stained glass instead of just gold. Intergalactic cathedral cockship. The envy of all species possessing phallic genitalia.
