Combination happy and fairly thorough WTF: Needed pen. Last resort before giving up and either bumming one off the place I'm headed soon or going out and buying one was checking the car. Now, the thing to note? Any pens still in that car would have been in there for... a couple years. At least. In Florida weather. In an enclosed space. So yeah. The first pen I checked didn't really work. Not a surprise.
The second? The second was frakking
flawless. Despite years of melting and probably a variable amount of insect nibbling. S'just... damn. Color me surprised and somewhat relieved.
So, yeah. I'm sure there's better pens out there than these things, but. I've never used better ones, at least for my handwriting. Pilot Precise V5 Rolling Ball, Extra Fine. I've turned entire notepads worth of paper into zen tangles with these things, and I can now tentatively identify them as somewhat immune to thermal/atmospheric damage. And inedible, insofar as ants, spiders, and lizards are concerned. Yay?
E:
These things, though I have
no idea why they're charging twenty bucks for what appears to be one of them. just suffered catastrophic reading failure and twenty for a twelve pack is about right, though that's fairly major overkill unless you lose them regularly. Four was getting me through about two semesters of college note taking.
