So hey, roadmap's out. You can see, y'know. Progress bars and pretty pictures and stuff. Some interesting junk in the thing already, and I've only gandered at a couple of 'em. Just to make sure you notice, you can click on the little thumbnail things in a lot of the individual report thingies. Opens up a bigger picture.

I hear it's pretty decent, but suffers a little from translation issues. Supposed to be alright, one of the better examples of Tolkien fanfiction.

Three centuries of spread ... does not a success make.
I... don't think it works that way, MSH. Three centuries of inroads is pretty darn successful. States haven't even been around that long, yet.

Success followed by failure, perhaps, in that case, but I wouldn't really judge this sort of thing on the net. Terrible heuristic, means everything has preemptively failed. Sun expansion happens eventually, and then time passes and stuff's spent more time splatted than running about. Several million years of existence followed by exponentially more of non-existence? Welp, guess it's a failure :-\

... there's bad peanut butter?

I mean. I guess the stuff in crackers sometimes? Maybe.

Weighed for the first time in a couple months. Actually had thought I'd gained a little while I was mostly feeding myself, but... apparently, I've lost something like 12-15 pounds. Which is, like. Okay, then. Haven't been doing anything different but alright.

Honestly, Putnam probably got it right. Or at least pretty close to right. Gams is pulling Boney's strings so that the jug-myth happens. You need the paraphernalia to get it done right.

It already sorta' does. Gamzee got mindfucked by Dave and decided to make it (being the juggalo mythos) happen (which was sorta' necessary to have the mythos exist to begin with). And so we have what we have. Paradox shenanigans.

Gammy is juggalo, uh. God before God. I guess Caliborn is, like, juggalo Jesus. Or something.

If you're talking about the fuckery circus being specifically the clown dudes, anyway. Paradox reacharound man, but basically makes a fairly consistent sort of sense, so far.

Eh. Don't think of it as sad. Think of it as... an opportunity. To populate the universe with sentients of varied and improbable physiologies. I mean, it's not like we need an excuse to play creator god. But an excuse doesn't hurt. And "There's somewhere to put them" is... sufficient.

More like as slow as a mole ass lathered snail.

Well... sorta'. Sometimes it skips along pretty briskly for a bit. When you read through the whole thing again there's patches that almost give you whiplash. But overall it's pretty sluggish. Which is alright, don't need breakneck bathell bumrush all the time.

Dude. Dude has a giant upside down acorn hat. What's up with that?

... and where does one procure these magnificent acorn hats?

Guh. Yeah, that sounds pretty nasty. This one... well, doesn't seem to be like that, so far. Just a straight up cost for the material/mixing, which is fairly in line with what retail value would be. We'll see if/when it goes into actual production, I guess.

Yeah... if someone's interested in setting up a lil'giveaway or something, I could throw in a a few things. No interest in SRS, Gunmetal, Gettysburg, or a Game of Dwarves. I'd prefer raffle or somethin' instead of just givin' 'em out, though :P

Other Games / Re: Any good free roguelikes? (Except Dwarf Fortress)
« on: March 31, 2013, 02:46:41 pm »
Oh gods, not the what is a roguelike thing again. LCS and Spelunky are close enough to roguelikes it doesn't make a difference anymore. Rogue has jack all to do with RLs these days, honestly, and roguelike no longer means like-Rogue in reference to a gaming genre. Get over it, Rogue botherers. The genre has expanded, and that's all there really is to it. You can dig the Berlin Interpretation if you're looking for something closer to actually representative of the field nowadays. LCS and Spelunky both nestle themselves quite firmly within its bosom.

As for the one not mentioned yet... I'd probably mention Sil. More or less, I'd call it a Tolkien roguelike done right.

Mm... yeah, from what I remember they usually take a week or two to "settle in", so to speak. One of the reasons I haven't tried another go at them... week or two potentially mindfucked and then another couple coming down from it if it's the wrong stuff is just... too much time to invest. Especially in the pharmaceutical equivalent of throwing darts at a wall and seeing what sticks :-\
