So... soli. That. That kinda' sounds exactly like a description of a pseudo-dystopian cesspool :-\

S'like. I don't really mince words. Florida is shit. It's got some alright places in it. But overall it's just not a very nice place to live. Even beyond the weather related stuff that varies from person to person. It's not really high on the list of places you go if you want a future, or much of a present. Some places in it might be -- south florida in particular has a bit more going for it -- but the state as a whole. No.

I. I don't think saying something is slices of functional surrounded by urban wasteland is, like. How you'd describe something that's not a cesspool. It's just a cesspool with floating chunks of unrotten material still swirling around in it. Which brings to mind the horrible image of some kind of urban toilet, with shiny city blocks still floating in a clogged sludge of filth.

... nah. There's actually some pretty decent places in and around the states. I can't. I can't actually name them, off the top of my head. But they're out there, I've been through a few, met some folks that live in some. Art towns, college towns, some of the tech industry joints. Overall decent places with overall decent people, with things to do and not so much of a bigotry taint to them. Alright joints.

But yeah, large swathes of the south are kinda' a shithole if you've got any particular interest besides drinking (/various other drugs) and fucking. It's just. Kinda' boring down here if you're not heavy into nature stuff or unwilling to deal with a bigotry epidemic. Pockets of relative decency but generally just kinda' unpleasant unless you're unpleasant. Some stuff in and around the more populated areas, but those kinda' have their problems. What with being, y'know, populated areas surrounded by a lot of drugs and poor people. Kinda' concentrated in the tri-state area (Georgia/Alabama/Florida), but from what I've noticed that's just kinda' how the south rolls.

Not sure how the rest of the place is, so far. Mostly been in the south-east. Wasn't out west long enough to get a feel for things (and was too young to really pay attention), and not gone far enough north to get a feel for the north-east. Furthest north I've been is North Carolina, which I roughly internalize as a place about as bigoted as Florida (at least outside of the cities, but that's about how it is down here.), but with better music, better scenery, and better weather. S'like. Fuck, if it wasn't for the people NC'd kinda' be a paradise. If it still had the bluegrass. Maybe the bears could be trained or something, I'unno.

Florida's about like that, too, though, I guess. If it weren't for the people and the weather it'd be pretty great down here. Beautiful place, just miserable to live in.

Some days I love the little concussed bastards just for how much some folks seem to dislike them :P

Other days I just say fuggit and drop a death dance or something on their head on turn one. Sometimes it's not worth the hassle.

The best times, though. The best times are when you just ignore them, and go about doing the auto explore thing, and about half way through the level you get a reward prompt pop up 8)

But seriously they've got a heavy concussion, you can't expect much from 'em, y'know? At least they don't charge towards the first thing they see anymore. Now they charge away from it, into the arms of the second thing they saw. It's kinda' great.

Oozemancer's acid-thingy (second level mucus, I think?) just completely and utterly demolishes the early game -- it's basically an alchemist's bomb that spawns a powerful AoE DoT, summons allies, and restores your equilibrium like a boss. Completely flattens the first two tiers of dungeons, and slime spit wrecks everything until you get it. Roughly the only thing capable of surviving more than a couple turns is stuff flat out immune to poison, and that only staves off the inevitable. Oozemancers start off unholy terrors that roll over the game :P

One I had running did some silly things and ate a few early deaths, but even the most remote degree of caution (which I basically wasn't exercising at all, heh. I did OF through Nur starting at level 10, with only like three tier one dungeons done.) and you're basically unkillable during the early to early-mid game. It's kinda' ridiculous.

As evidenced by the famous chieftain, Hiawubwub.
"Hiawubwub's Lament" remains to this day one of the greatest examples of dubstep to ever grace the musical realm. It's one of the best songs I've never heard.

The Indians had dubstep?
Hell, pretty much. Just lacking some of the processing that makes it what it is nowadays*. Proto-dubstep, if you will.

Native Americans anyway, dunno if the India Indians were quite as heavy into the drums.

*Though I guess that's what the peace pipe was for?

The squirrels have awoken!
Huzzah for the rising of mobile food and hats!

Wait, when did they go to sleep?

Which just happens to be infested with Catachan Barking Toads.

... honestly, you could do that to pretty much anything and increase the hilarity factor by a couple degrees at the least, I think.

Fifty from gear alone is pretty trivial, yeah. Five or six on most slots is pretty easy by the point you might be investing in blighted summoning.

That said, blighted summoning on its own is only so useful. The summons will feed on your magic stat afterwards, so if it's anemic the extra abilities will trend toward useless. Just go cun/wil/mag, with the remainder in con.

Probably the quiet thing more than that specifically. Not even the best way to walk quiet, from what I've seen. Only decent when you're barefoot, and even then there's a couple other ways of placing your feet that tend to be quieter. I kinda' roll mine around the outside edge, heel to front, as default. Minimize surface contact while spreading the action over several steps instead of one, reduces noise impact in most situations.

It's nice be able to walk over gravel and crap without making a sound, though. Not easy, and slow, but nice. Right set of shoes (or going barefoot, of course) makes it a bit easier. Step lightly, fellows!

Nope :P

So far as I'm aware every AM capable class has been won without it (presumably barring oozemancers, I guess.), even in v1. Fungus and the antimagic tree are very nice nowadays, and non-arcane kit not so gimpy, but runes and arcane equipment are pretty solid in their own right.

Avatar changes to something delicious are also acceptable. Anything is, really, but bonus points for delicious and/or witty.

E: And that pile of honeycomb just looks scrumptious. I haven't even eaten much honeycomb in my lifetime, but that looks great. Not so sure about the bees, but they can probably be shooed away.

Drooling, though? I should hope that's limited to the mouth. I mean, yeah. :-\
There are more things capable of drooling, dear Yoink, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

In today's episode of "Let's see what the hell happens" I stuck a klondike bar into a blender with some milk and vanilla extract, and held down the button for a bit.

Bit too much milk and vanilla, but. It's nice. Somewhat soupy milkshake with little chips of chocolate floating around in it hanging around at the bottom of the cup. Probably gonna' have to scape them out at the end but I'm not exactly complaining.

Bit messy, though.

Heh, yeah... I did try rummaging around the vault a bit, but kept getting distracted by the random dungeon stuff and samurai trolls... and then other games :P

Still, I'm down for pretty much whatever. S'been interesting, so far.
