General Discussion / Re: Things that made you go "WTF?" today o_O

For the past... hour or so, something in this place's back yard has been making a noise that sounds distinctly like a somewhat deeper kazoo. I'm guessing it's a frog, but... honestly, I'm not going to go out into the back yard at a half hour 'till midnight in an attempt to visually identify a kazoobeast.

I just can just imagine it's somewhat soothing distorted kazoo call suddenly becoming earthshattering as it expands to twice the size of a car and just barrels over me, through the house, and proceeds to lay waste to the countryside. Kazoobeast can produce its kazoo-like mating call (presumably) in rainy peace.

Find me a CD more than fifteen years old that a drive will still recognize.

I'll have to test this out.  I know I've had one at one point.
For what it's worth, I do have Warcraft 3 CDs laying around that are still usable. Scratched to hell, but I installed off one last year. So a decade old CD, which is... pretty close to 15 years old (okay, five years off but still!). Insofar as I'm aware, a CD is a CD is a CD so long as it's not melted or whatever. Don't think the format's changed enough to be incompatible... yet.

And the right way?
Hahahaha, you wish.

There's just various wrong ways. Some are just wrong in ways you find less annoying.

... amusing thing with Opera, at least th'version I'm using, is that while there are separate search and url bars, the url bar can be used as a search bar if you feel like it. Preface the query with a letter (g, ferex, if you want google) and you can pick yer search engine on the fly. S'a little search bar to the right of the url too, though.

I likes it, m'self. Opera's been pretty good to me, so far.

Since the point you occasionally run late or bugger up assignments and you need to be on the teacher's good side. Or at least don't mind the help on that front. Plus you sometimes learn neat things!

... sometimes.

And depending on how annoyed the teacher is with the folks not showing up, you sometimes get out of extra work. More than once I've had th'teach waive assignments for the folks that were actually arsed to show up.

Plastic bags? Double/triple bag the soakable things, stick a few on your head, set to walking  Maybe have a change of clothes. Or throw a message to the teach you might be a lil' late and go buy an umbrella/bum one off a neighbor or something.

There are solutions if you seek them! Showing up on rainy days tend to net professor points anyway, especially when a lot of the class doesn't.

Nice dream from the afternoon nap, though the part where the werewolf started dry humping the back of some dude's chair in an attempt to convince 'im to take a certain class line was a bit out there. The magic-y bits that came after to get rid of th'wolf and make his buddies bugger off was pretty awesome, though.

I will say, I'm now convinced I would be goddamn incredible at making game demos, or at least choosing where they end. Bloody thing doesn't even exist and I want to buy it just to see what happened next. And get access to classes and whatnot. Ended at a perfect transition point, where things are awesome, had been awesome up to that moment, and are pointing towards about to become much more awesome. Good stuff. Shame I've already forgotten most of it, 'cept the bits above.

Also woke up with bits of Zyko's Just Like You playing back in my head, which was nice. Now for breakfast!

Sleeping WTFs, hah. I'm still a little weirded out by a few days ago. For about four days straight, I woke up at noon. Regardless of when I went to sleep. Went to sleep at eight PM one day. Woke up at noon the next. Then at ten PM and midnight. Woke up at noon both times. Finally at five o'clock in the frakking morning. Still woke up at noon, the same day. It's stopped, now, but I was starting to get somewhat concerned.

More than would, do. I've heard it personal used in reference to learning languages -- for some folks just flat out immersion from the start is more effective than working their way in, as an example. Hitting the ground running instead of starting off walking, et al. Sometimes if you've got some inertia behind you it's easier to stay moving than if you go slow.

'Course, it can also lead to stuff like going over a cliff on a bicycle you don't know how to brake but whatever!

Yes. Let us pursue peace. Peace through SUPERIOR FIREPOWER!

Pangea means it's harder to murder off a nice defensible chunk of the place to leverage negotiations from, though. Not as many good chokepoints, iirc. Still. Probably best to murder the elves before they make the joint annoying to ride through and lousy with archers. Natural terraformers in general are good early targets, methinks, unless it's a terrain you can exploit well.

Incidentally, tentacles are still a potentiality, yes/no? Mutant horsemen sound delightfully inconsistent nice.

O... oh. That... the first sprite was... was female? I. Kinda' figured it was just a long haired dude. With green hair. A nod to Terra but... not, like. Actually Terra.

... is it Terra?

Heh. Watched the replay of the supreme lake 2v2 we had yesterday. Turns out that ank was communicating on the wrong channel the whole game.

... I thought that match was a little quiet on our side >_>

Also looks like "advice you can give the enemy" if you're not looking at it very closely.

It... it still fits.

Could still be a verb, really. You can use powder as a verb, after all.
