And for the triple threat of idle pondering: The battlestar Galactica has an encounter with Spelljammers. What... what would happen?

Makes me kinda' sad the shaco head was shopped or somethin' instead of a really well done mask. I'd be tempted to drop some cash for a shaco mask that came close to matching that level of detail.

Monster Hunter Tri servers are going down permanently in April.

Why do my favourite video games ever always come with a limited shelf life?  :(
Because profit, mostly :-\

Or greed, I guess. I think if it hit the point where maintaining servers was no longer profitable I'd just release the server architecture to the public and slap a "donate if you liked this" button on it. Potential income into perpetuity without the need to supply infrastructure costs, hup hup.

Actually, on whose side would the Auditors be on?
Double checking the info on those guys... almost certainly Necrons. Seems right up their alley, for both groups. Turn everything into nice barren dustballs and make the warp bugger off? Yepyepyep.

Or... maybe the 'nids. Sorta' the same end results, but the means would probably grate on the Auditors nerves. E: Though... then again, the 'nids are only barely sentient in a lot of ways. Nids might not be so bad to th'auditors.

Dungeon dimensions would win get in bed with Chaos and have a rousing good time.
FTFY.

Though maybe an eldritch abomination party with the C'Tan would also be in order, I'unno.

Looking forward to that.

Nrg. Yeah, if Samus didn't run into one of the radical inquisitors or something she'd be in for a hell of a ride. I'd imagine the Imperium would consider her some kind of amalgamation of mutant and Xeno... and considering she probably wouldn't at-least-lipservice the Emperor's divinity, that's a triple strike where it's one strike FOR THE EMPEROR. Eldar or the Tau might be down with her, though, but the Imperium, not so much. Chaos Samus would be great, too.

And as for Orkz having ice beams... shit, there's probably a mekboy or somethin' out there that's weaponized cyrogenics. And, as McClay noted, it's entirely possible that if the orkz think their weapons will work against Metroids... the weapons will.

Samus versus Zerg is... slightly better. They're basically somewhat more sane 'nids, so... yeah. Mind you, Samus would still be kinda' stomped in the end, but she could 1v1 most zerg organisms without too terribly much trouble, I'd think. Most of them. I'd wager in, say, Kerrigan's favor without hesitation, simply because K could psi-storm the joint and Samus'd probably just kinda' fall over, but most of the non-psi capable Zerg Samus has stomped things of similar nature and stature multiple times. Not in the numbers that the Zerg would ultimately throw at her, of course, but individually I'd say yeah. E: Providing you hand-waved material technology et al to be somewhat equal. Starcraft tech is actually a little crazy in some ways, and shit like zerglings take multiple hits from freaking depleted uranium firing gauss rifles to drop, so yeah.

Eh... it'd depend on the Ork. Some of 'em going toe-to-toe with Samus is pretty conceivable. On a wider-scale engagement th'Orkz would win outright simply because they're basically impossible to get rid of short of Exterminatus or planet destruction and individually they're a lot more capable than, say, Space Pirates (plus there'd be a lot of them and, well, the more orkz you get together the harder it is to take down any particular one of them.). Orkz are actually kinda' kickass when they're not being plot-waved into flimsiness. Considering what they were designed (in fluff, mind -- they're effectively bio-weapons) as, that's not very surprising.

As for Metroids and X, they're both pretty small change compared to... well, a lot of the wooglies in WH40k. X in particular are basically the same sort of danger vector as daemon possession or 'nids and, well, lots of stuff have ways of dealing with those. Metroids have some things going for them but, well, from what I remember most of them are weak to explosives. And in the WH40k 'verse, that's... kind of a critical weakness :P

On the flip side, luggage is... I'unno, my knowledge of discworld isn't exactly encyclopedic. Is there anything that managed to really do anything to the luggage? Besides get eaten and/or terrorized by it?

Because I could see the luggage being dropped off on a daemonworld and somehow the entirety of the Eye of Terror and the Webway ending up in the luggage's belly by the time th'luggage got back to Rincey. S'got a bit of an "unstoppable force" gig going, that trunk does.

Winning aside, I think I'd be amused by a well written collision between Twilight vampires and Discworld's Fresh Start Club. Poor sparklies.

If elemental harmony's running, yeah. It doesn't stack with itself (so not +6 per time hit with lightning :P), unfortunately, but it's nice.

Lightning harmony's probably my... third tier harmony effect. Fire harmony is best harmony, and acid harmony can be really sexy on a regen/healmod tank. Then lightning and nature roughly tying. Cold is... iffy. Not as sexy as the rest.

The best of things with harmony is an elm staff. Command staff and manually attacking yourself (there's an attack talent in your talent menu [default m]. You can hit yourself. As a side note, you can break daze with that.) gives you desired buff on command for a few hitpoints, so long as you're not mainlining magic.
