Today, New York state became the first to pass laws in response to the Newtown shooting, adopting a wide variety of things, making it possibly the most restrictive in the nation. It passed the republican held legislature, 43 to 18. It included a so called webster provision, in honor of the ambush on the first responders of webster new york. Shooting a first responder is punishable by life in prison, with no parole.
That's... actually kinda' worrying. What if you have no idea it's a first responder and you think you're defending yourself against someone that just violently broke into your house? What about cases where first responders are, well, told to leave and break in anyway?

And what are they going to do when folks start claiming to be first responders in order to get into people's houses?

Ehn. Anyway, got any solid links to what's been passed? Digging through all the news bullshit likely surrounding the story to find the text would probably be annoying :-\

Any tips for infinite dungeon mode?
Don't. Open. The Goddamn. Vaults.

Then you're pretty much peachy until the stair guardians start coming in, at which point it's basically just a really long farportal with sporadic bosses. Really, that's my best advice without knowing more in particular about your builds and/or playstyle. Just. Don't open the vaults. Until you're at least in your, like, twenties or thirties.

Anyone that opens an ID vault before that point is implicitly stating their willingness to reroll their character. Infinite dungeon vaults do not, at all, play fair. They do not have sanity checks on them. They will spawn OoD creatures you cannot escape from. Those creatures will be carrying tier five equipment that they won't drop on death. This will happen on ID (2). You will die. You will die repeatedly. Do not. Open. The vaults.

Most people generally approve of eye contact when interacting with each other. Not making eye contact implies shyness, deception or dislike. So it's not just women. It's part of Job Interview Tips 101: Make eye contact.
Which is... terribly annoying. Extended eye contact gives me a (splitting) headache. Freaking information overload.

It's unfortunately that eye contact is de facto signaling of attention in this culture, really. It's not like I can not pay attention (I broke that part when I was about twelve -- if I say I didn't hear you, I'm probably disassembling to some degree or had ear phones in, because I can't not listen anymore :-\ Which... yeah. TV. Hate.), but most people seem to be woefully inattentive of their surroundings so... people expect some kind of physical cue instead of just assuming the person with functioning ears can hear them.

Spoiler: Re New Class (click to show/hide)

As for new areas... ehn. Nothing major that I can recall, but there's been quite a lot of balance tweaks here and there and a new difficulty added that's in between normal and insane. Amatathon got buffed again, prodigies got distributed around, and there are some new unique enemies, some of which can get pretty nasty, but difficulty in general hasn't shifted too much, I'd say. Except for the LoS thing, which has made things rougher in general on melee dudes.

... considerably more realistically, it depends pretty heavily on the individual in question. There's plenty of the older generations that have acclimatized perfectly well to the new technology, and more beyond that that manage alright.

The general response I've seen outside the nutballs is that they realize it's very useful but have trouble really internalizing recent technology use. Older folks have their ipads and their smart phones and whatever, too, they're just generally not quite as dexterous about 'em.

As for all work and no play... not so much. From what I've seen, if there's a generalization to make it's that their conceptualization of "play" in relation to the new tech is somewhat more toned down compared to the newer generations. For them, e-mail and facebook and board games an' crap is play -- whether they're unaware or uninterested in the more sophisticated stuff varies by individual, but the average response I've seen definitely involves awareness of (at least some of) the not!work aspects of newer tech.

Would... would that work?

Actually, now you're making me wonder if flat sodas have the same effect as, well, not-flat ones. 'Cause if I can boil the reflux trigger out of the stuff I don't think I'd mind having to do that. I actually kinda' like the taste of flat sodas.

... y'know, what you're thinking would alliterate a bit, too, wouldn't it? With the republicans in particular.

Now I'm wondering how far you could string that alliteration... but somewhat terrified to actually try to work it out.

Fie on thee, drug pusher! Take your trick turning back to the street corner where it belongs.

... seriously though CP, aren't you in the medical biz to some degree? Isn't the whole "treat the symptom instead of the cause" like... bad methodology? Really bad? Especially when there's a clear cut causal link and a means of prevention that's both simple and effective?

There's something burnin' inside me...

... and it's not a hunka hunka love. Reflux is really rather annoying. I want to drink sodas, damn you physiology! But no. Lately, when I do that, my digestive acids try to come out and play with my uvula. Which makes it either hard to sleep or freaking miserable waking up.

Starting to look like there's going to be yet another set of consumables I can, well, no long consume. As the years go by, I seem to be less and less capable of eating/drinking things :-\

But onto more pleasant conversation. There was earlier talk of Taco Bell and KFC restaurants combined into one. My question is, why have they not combined any of their food into one; why am I not able to buy Kentucky Fried Tacos?
Well, I kinda doubt the lettuce and tomato or whatever would taste all that great...
Eh? You can fry tomatoes, at least, just fine, and folks seem to like 'em (I mean... hell, dude. They made a movie.). Not sure about lettuce, but gods know someone down here's figured either that out or a fair substitute. There's a few fry-abled roughage-vegetables, I think.

Taco shells also react favorably to being lightly fried, as well.

Point being that if you really feel like frying all the constituent parts of a taco and then constructing something edible from them, it's doable without much in the way of notable innovation or difficulty.

E: Anyway, what can be taken away from these ruminations is simple. If it can be fried, someone in the US has probably fried it. If it can't be fried, some crazy sumbitch has probably fried it anyway.

Shadwflame tree's probably the better idea for an initial investment (every talent but the second -- never max that, ever, it causes the radius to equal the range, i.e. you blow yourself to hell with it -- is pretty solid, especially nowadays if you find an undeath belt), but bone's not exactly a bad idea either (shield, as you note, is good, and the rest adds a bit of damage type variety to your arsenal.).

Torment... I forget if that's locked on corruptors, since I don't recall it being so on reavers. If it is, then that's probably an even better idea to go for, first, as both shadowflame and bone's sexiest bits on a corruptor are hefty cost sustains and willful tormenter gives you a good chunk more vim to play with. I hear good things about overkill (especially on a corruptor) and blood vengeance, too. Blood lock's kinda' situational, and even beyond that is kinda' useless when you've got curse of death.

Didn't checked this for like a year. Does zerk bloodtree is still utramegasuperstrong? I remember smashing orks in far east, easily outhealing all incoming damage. Me see it's about a time to unsheathe my rusty dwarvish broadaxe again...
It's still solid, but the healing bug with it was fixed long, long ago and the bonus from it has turned static, so the upper limits are much, much lower (though you get more out of it with minimal hp/stam regen stacking, now) both for the regen and the stamina. Mortal terror's still sexy, though daze has been changed (I wouldn't say nerfed, but definitely changed. You can uses it to kick off debuffs now, if you feel like usin' the zerk's.). The third tier is still superfluous and unstoppable's still unstoppable.

I would almost swear to you C-3P0 has actually walked the bottom of a couple lakes in its lifetime. But... yeah, not tried a breaststroke or anything.
