Plus all the voice acting is German, which is moderately amusing.
There is... a version of dungeon siege II that has german voice actors and english subtitles.

It is entirely better than the one with english voice actors, because the english VAs for DSII suck. So... yeah. Not sure if germany just has really good VAs or what.

Not sure if there's a point to be made from that, other than that I'm entirely okay with the state of Nehrim's voice acting :P

Don't know what it is (other than quality) exactly, but I'm a lot easier to appease with non-english vocals (even if I don't know the language. Especially if I don't know the language.) than I am with english ones. Music, voice actors, whatever. Just give me subtitles (or not, in the case of the former) and I'm good to go.

I'm... relatively certain that's not actually why we don't have human clones?

Last I checked we don't have them mostly because they're really cost inefficient (for now) and can't do much more than a good screw and some time would manage.

There's ethical concerns, too, such, but I'm pretty sure creation of, like, identical twin slaves isn't high on the list?

Looks better fullscreened ('cause I'm running low resolution) but... anyway.

Bow'd (mostly) my way through a dungeon/cave full of undead, traps, etc. Murder something called Blood Prince Tuuron or... whatever (he had nice loot, I tooks it), walk up the stairs to his platform and... that was there. I just...

... I like Nehrim, okay? I ran up and sat on the throne, half hoping it carried some ancient curse. Unfortunately not and the camera angle was pretty crap from the chair, but. Yeah. Nehrim just has a lot of stuff like that. I don't even know if the cave's, like, special or anything. I think it's just some joint in the middle of the woods, to loot. With giant bone arches, awesome mood lighting, a few skulls on a stick, and a nice seat. Plus all the stuff I walked past/killed getting to the nice seat.

Nehrim seems to do a lot of stuff like that. Even the no-name caves (Well, okay, this cave had a fancy name, but you get the idea) have little flares. Its aesthetics and game design just... please me. So far, anyway (and "so far" has been, like. 30 hours or something.). Think I'll play it some more tomorrow <3

E: Right, since it's kinda' impolite to squee without sharing source, if no one noticed my earlier squeeing, Nehrim's an (awesome) Oblivion total conversion thingy. Seems to be pretty nice.

Was on the first page, guess I should chime in on the (next to?) last. Fare ye' well, AEM. Even if you're just aim, poorly pronounced.

Any intent on doing this again come next presidential election, Aqi? Assuming you're still around, anyway.

[It] seems like a pretty bad solution when you can just kick the ethical ball into the geneticist court.

Dominions 3 is by far my favorite multiplayer 4X, particularly with some of the mods.

Im just getting into Dominions 3, what can you recommend?
I remember the warhammer ones actually being kinda' decent. There's also some kind of unofficial rebalance patch or something like that, which is a good idea. Then a few spell diversity mods or somethin' along those lines, additional heroes and magic sites, also good. Check the official Dom3 forum, I do believe there's a consolidated mod thread or two on there where you can see what's available. There's a good spread to choose from.

And yeah, Dom 3 is pretty incredible. It's got its problems (price point being the major stickler for me, unfortunately), but it does a lot of things really well and can be intensely satisfying. I hear the multiplayer shenanigans get pretty awesome, too.

No, it just means my car is no longer better than yours and, until you change its color again, was not better than yours yesterday. If you change its color again, then my car becomes better than your car in the past, as well.

Sounds like folks would at least be in pretty good shape in bearworld. It would also mean that in a high functioning society bears would be very hungry indeed.

Also is purple. That makes it better than things which are not.
Does it make it better than other cars that originally were not purple but are now, though?
Nah. Becoming purple retroactively improves the vehicle's previous nature. Similarly, becoming some other color retroactively reduces it. Only during immediate temporal congruity is comparison possible.

Car survived the trip to the nearest town and back without anything catastrophic happening. Coulda' done without the multiple visits by lizards and spiders, but... considering the last time I drove it further than a local store and faster than 35 mph was like...

... um. Before october. Probably before august. It's been a while. And it hadn't been cranked in a few weeks, driven longer than that, etc., so forth, so on. I could stand to treat the poor thing better.

Anyway. For an old '95 ford escort station wagon, it's... not doing as badly as it could be. S'only got around 89k miles on it and it still actually works. Usually. Also is purple. That makes it better than things which are not.

So, yeah. Playing Nehrim, Oblivion total conversion thingy. Walking down road, bard thing is plucking 'is lute.

And then I pause. Stop for a second. And listen a little harder.

Because dude is plucking out the same melody as one of the tetris songs. Obviously not that particular one, because it was strung out on a lute-analog or something, but... yeah.

Nerdsquee? Nerdsquee. Or... something. Anyway. I was highly amused. It was a... kinda' brilliantly done, impressively subtle, shoutout. Though I have no clue if it was a shout out to tetris or whatever it was influenced by.

Have uninstalled Oblivion for the... eighth? Ninth? I've lost goddamn count. Time, trying to get FCOM (Elder Scrolls: Oblivion mod thingy that ostensibly gets a bunch of other ones to play nice (ha fucking ha)) to work. Finally resorted to the superpack, which seemed to function despite being outdated, but had a lot of shit I'd rather not be using, so I'd be uninstalling again to do the unmerged version anyway, which is noted as being somewhat unstable in comparison (and I resorted to the superpack after finally getting FCOM to load, only to CTD with regularity.).

Which. Basically. No, not now. Fuck this. Nehrim's solid, it functions, and the installation process isn't a steaming pile of shit. I'ma go back to that for a while, and wrestle with regular Oblivion at some other point. "Modularity" can go blow itself. At least until I find a step by step walkthrough of the installation that isn't years old and either poorly formated and/or flat out wrong, anyway.

Robot boobs are supplementary power plants. Male robots have the power plant in their crotch, females on their chest. Its not a 'sex' really, there are just two standard chassis.
"This crotch of mine glows with an awesome power! Its irradiated emissions tells me to defeat you! Take this! My love, my sorrow, and all of my anger! SHINING! BURNING!"

Aanndd I'll stop there. Other than to note in the back of my mind to never crotch shot a robot in close quarters. Just in case.

Anyway, has anyone actually signed up of their forums bothered to ask about the cross-species gratuity and/or possibility of rocket boobs? Inquiring minds want to know! Inquiring minds that are too lazy to sign up and ask themselves.

I should get it within the week. I hope it turns out well, cause while I need a mousepad period (I've been using stray bits of envelope, notepaper, and cardboard so far) having one that reminds me of the great times I've had with that game will be the best.
Heehee, mousepad. This is my mousepad. Though it's generally either volume one or two of a set that's been separated out into a full eight volumes, not combined like those ones are. I.e. the original 1967 set, squee. I've got the other six volumes... around, somewhere.

Got the whole set for free. Local college was getting rid of 'em and I was like... shit. I'm taking those home.

Actually, looking around the 'net it... looks like these things might be worth a little cash. Not that I'd sell 'em, but... neat.

Innit better still better, even if it's not good? I think the question is, if you're not going to get good, why choose the worser of remaining options?
