Some places do have bat populations, but it's fairly common even where there are they're woefully smaller than necessary to control the mosquito one. Bats just aren't very populous in most of the US, for various reasons, least as far as I'm aware.

I just see the kid crawling out of the crib, across the beds, and then rolling around the barrels like one of those roller conveyer belts. You wake up at night to a steady *babby noises, thump, babby noises, thump* sound.

I read something about rising the budget or debt limit some more trillions to plant trees?

Would not be better to put that money on carbon secuestrers?
Trees are one of the most cost effect carbon sequestration methods currently available, iirc. Just planting shedloads of the things is a fairly effective proposal, from what I understand... maybe not optimal, but fairly achievable logistics wise and an easy message to push.

Near as I can recall it wouldn't take trillions of dollars to plant enough of them to basically stall rising temperatures, though (it's only like 30c to the tree or something like that; you'd have to plant multiple trillions of trees to cost trillions of dollars, and we probably only need around a trillion or so of the things to begin with, with the proposals I've noticed), so wherever you heard that specifically was probably pretty sketchy, or it was put backwards or something.

... also not a major component of the debt limit increase regardless, so far as I'm aware, so yeah.

There's an inherent sort of hubris to that sentiment I think... the general belief that somehow what we do or the spaces we make is apart from nature, like the house or city is somehow fundamentally different in nature from the dam or burrow or mound.

Scope and effect, probably, but it's a very human arrogance to look at what we do and claim that we're apart from nature just because you're inside a high rise or something, as if that distinctly cleaves you from atmosphere pressures or tectonics or grasping roots or every tiny ecosystem, like walls magically stop pigeons from roosting on them or bugs from finding their way through life in the crawl ways. The city is nature just as much as the forest, just with different specifics.

... more self destructive than most forests, probably, but it's not like those don't have their equilibriums break down without our influence, too. For all we accelerate a great pile of things, fundamentally most of what we do just... isn't special, in the grand scheme of things.

Today, I have learned that curry frosting tastes kinda' like tea. Gonna' make some weird snickerdoodle cookies soon, yo'.

... normal ones, too, but there's gonna' be some curry frosting in this stuff and it's hopefully gonna' come out tasting like tea cookies.

e: welp, they ate all my curried snickerdoodle cookies

also all the other ones

they ate all the cookies

frumple has apparently learned the easy magic of delicious cookies: add one (1) egg yoke (just the yoke!) to the batter over the given recipe

It's kinda weird how English doesn't differentiate between singular and plural "you".

"You" and "Y'all"
wrongly implying y'all isn't used as a singular you, I see :P

As near as I can tell it would probably be fully legal. It would also probably be unwise; beyond the whole "has checking information" shtick, there's sometimes processing fees of one sort or another, or other issues.

Better to take a picture of (a copy of) your diploma (or remaining debt, or whatever) you had something poop on and mail that. Gets the point across without possibly involving banking fees.

e: single penny is a good one, though. For extra poignancy, take a heavy pair of scissors to it and mail back a part of one roughly equal to how much student loans you have remaining to pay off. Half done, they get half a penny, etc.

So apparently abaddon had to ban discussion of the Jaggahog on the KSBD discord. Comic's going places!

... does it count as a work dream if you work in a library but you're designating underground fantasy libraries for a conquered group of dwarfs in a city builder style UI in a dream?

I mean, you can get anyone to claim that if you're sufficiently motivated. All you need as an aid is something able to non-fatally remove nipples.

Chinese Man - Indi Groove -- somewhere around the second minute (and again around 3 and half), it turns into some kind of meeting point between asian strings, southern fiddle, and fairly heavy beats.

Chinese Man (apparently a french trip-hop group, now that I actually check) has a decently large discography and they go just... all over the place in terms of style. Lots of rap/hiphop, but also a decent amount of off the wall fusion work. I'm not huge on everything they do, but the variety of it soothes my soul.

e: World needs more disney dubstep, or whatever the hell this is.

E2: more brooms

Other people's blood bothers me a fair bit, for whatever reason. Not fond of it on TV, on animals, people, meat... much of anything. Photorealistic/real life gore in general is just a sort of "Y'know, I'd just rather not, thanks."

My own blood doesn't have nearly as much effect, though. At one point I was bleeding basically constantly for about six months straight (surgery that was found to be bungled after a few months, necessitating a second surgery and recovery -- don't listen when they say you're good to be sewn back up right after the surgery, folks), and by the time that got wrapped up I think I was pretty much used to it.

Rino, not rhino :P

And ninja'd, but eh. Point is most of the GOP would reject you just on those few stated positions alone, at this point, LB. You'd still be able to call yourself one or claim party affiliation with them, but in the US so can I and there's very little that would make me happier than for the GOP as an organization to go varyingly metaphorically die in a ditch.

I mean, just from that post, I'm sorry LB but in the US you'd be a dirty leftist, just due to your position on green energy, climate change, and conspiracy theories, never mind the vaccine stance. Claiming to be republican would just get RINO labels slathered over you, these days :-\
