O'course, a spell and artifact laden 30th level wizard or commander can probably destroy armies on the first turn of battle :P

Even a maxed out warrior benefits from support, though~ Sending any hero out alone is more an act of desperation than anything, imo. You get a lot more done, faster, with minions at your side. And in the case of warriors, with considerably less upkeep due to kit damage :-\

Am suddenly wondering if item damage reduction stacks additively, though. I know you can get a good 80% just with the stuff I've seen (Warrior with maxed... blacksmithing, innit? Then two blacksmith bracers and a set of dwarven gloves.). If it's additive, then you might be able to make a warrior with junk that just doesn't break. Be a bit weaker than something going balls-out with power boosting equipment, but a helluva lot cheaper to keep rampaging.

And what feels good is more likely to be so, even if it is actually bad in the long term.  To throw away a concept because it can imply anything is ignoring facts and forming an imperfect conclusion.

Mental psychological addiction is addiction.

Edit: The weed can affect your performance if you use regularly and suddenly stop.  This is measurable and thus not ignorable.
Point being PK, so can a lot of crap we don't criminalize responsible use of. Like happiness! Or anti-depressants. Or food. Or shelter. And etc., so forth, so on. Psychological addiction isn't something we should be using as a heuristic for criminality or morality, because we (probably) can't apply that heuristic consistently. And if you can't do that, it's a bad heuristic 99%* of the time.

*More like ninety-nine point nine repeating percent, really. I'm not saying it's not possible, but it's really bloody hard to find a case where an inconsistent heuristic is even remotely approaching good methodology.

friendship, well you know that.
Huzzah! Give me a hour or two to get the demo downloaded and make sure I can run the thing ;D

I'll accept the invite if I can, decline (this time, anyway) if I can't.

Did someone say "Weaboo"?

*grabs cricket bat*

'Cause I think I heard someone say "Weaboo".

Hrm...
Also, do we know where the word came from?
Yes, yes we do!

It was originally used in the webcomic Perry Bible Fellowship:
Spoiler: Large Image (click to show/hide)
Wherein it was just a "word that must never be spoken"

Ideas are like, cyclical maaaan. Let's go be one with the meme.

I've given in. I'm downloading Touhou. This might be a terrible idea.
Prepare to get demolished :P

Unless you're some kind of native danmaku wizard, I guess.

Does remind me I need to get Touhou Labyrinth on this computer again, though... probably the fighting games, too. Maybe some of the other non-bullet hell touhou gaming stuff beyond those, too...

Hrm. I've got a... demonic perfume? That the shop's willing to buy for 10k cashies. Should I like... not sell it? Or sell it?

Running as JackThejil at the moment, by the by. Trying it some more, hum.

... a... matador counts as a demon? Isn't that just, like... a person?

S'more than most things the classic problem of the people calling the shots having, well, little to no experience in a classroom. If you don't have a sympathetic (by which I mean actually listen to people who know wtf they're talking about) school board (or equivalent, for whatever your area is) and administrators (or the administrators' administrators :-\) you just... can't get shit done. Especially when they're basically poeing an educational equivalent of an example of dwarven nobility.

Fixing things is... somewhat problematic, especially when a lot of the folks along the lines are, well, democratically elected. When you've got some folks in the process politically capable (or sufficiently so) plenty of wheels start greasing and stuff gets done, but... the people who can do that are somewhat few and far between -- and worse, usually busy enough teaching.

Most teachers I've had the fortune to talk to don't really want to lower the bar. They want to teach the kids and help them out, but orders from on-high are shackling them to varying degrees. S'a depressing situation... ranted about it a lil'bit just recently in that education thread, I think. Sometimes I think we kinda' need to get politics and money out of the equation, as much as possible... but it's a multi-variant problem like a who-knows-what. Lots of facets to a large problem, many different ways to tweak to improve so folks seem to get paralyzed instead of just going, "Let's do 'em all, damnit."

In the world of mathematics, the tilde, ~, means similar.
Fun thing, in one of the major systems of formal logic (Though, uh. I forget the name at the moment. S-something.) ~ is standard notation for not (well, negation, to be specific.). A = ~A is a standard expression of paradox, ferex. Seems like they might be trying t'phase it out, though.

"Ha! Tentacles from the stars. BLASPHEMY! You need look no further than my AMAZING MOLESTIARRE 700! (patent pending) for all you worker defilement needs -- guaranteed 100% more blessed by the Holy Cog than any antediluvian horror, and fully sanctioned by the Anti-Paranormal Investigation Squad! In fact, they're one of my largest customers... and between you and me, governor, the AM700 is rapidly rising in popularity among the more, ahem, adventurous of the gentlmenly class. You'd best make your order now before rising demand causes a price hike, haha!"

I... isn't...

... doesn't your service taking the case count as something of value being given? I mean. What counts? Almost everything has value, or can be assigned a value. That's a ridiculously vague way of putting it, yes?

E: Also, intermediaries? "You! Random bystander. I will give you ten dollars if you give this person a five dollar meal."

Also, the idea of a "government subsidied company focused on profit" selling drugs is naive at best, stupid at worst, because the competition can undercut you, because they do stuff and cut corners that a "government subsidied company focused on profit", can't (or oughtn't) do. Like cutting drugs with rat poison.
Many people (easily a majority of users, which would be a tremendous coup) will turn to legitimate sources even if you can get it cheaper from illegitimate sources, especially when buying from something government regulated (if not owned) doesn't carry the threat of jail time or serious disruptions in their day-to-day (rehabilitation), and the legitimate source considerably safer.

I guess first, before talking about legalization, one must ask "Are the individuals comprising today's society arguably mature enough to make informed decisions about something that can so gravely affect them and those around them?". Personally, I don't think so. While some individuals may, indeed, be capable of making the decision in an informed manner and of understanding the consequences, for the greater masses, "Derp, Respect mah authoratah" as someone so adorably brainfarted at me recently, may be a more valid option.
And yet we allow people to drive and own guns, have children, purchase alcohol and tobacco... it seems in general people are capable of dealing with having fairly hefty decisions in front them without screwing up to a degree that it becomes overtly society troubling. S'kinda' the fundamental issue with any, "Well, people don't make the right decision" argument when it comes to many illegal drugs -- we let people do and have things that have just as much, or more, impact and are just as, or even moreso, dangerous, so the argument kinda' breaks down unless you're advocating for a similar level of control of all those other things that are as much or more of a responsibility than responsible drug use.

Drug use in particular in America is something we need to see legalized and appropriately regulated (like alcohol, like tobacco), for the simple reason that the war on drugs is doing more damage to the country than drug use ever has -- notably so. In regards to the OP, as others have said, legalization, regulation, education, rehabilitation. That will do more to combat irresponsible drug use than anything else we can do. Honestly, the biggest obstacle to improvement is ignorance and the greed of the bastards that are profiting from the situation in the states -- and I'm not talking about criminals, there, though many of them arguably should be :-\

I avoid most of the 'yaoi' crap and the like. I just don't like it when the English language is bastardised like that.
We actually seem to be slowly appropriating a few words like that, from what I've seen. It's understandable, seeing as that's generally what english does when someone's got a word we don't. Certainly simplifies discussion in a few cases.

Incidentally, the concept of bastardizing english (of all things) is kinda' hilarious, thinking on it. Least when it comes to loan words, anyway. It's hard to bastardize what's basically the (current, major) omnibastard of languages :P

Spare arrows, yeah. Generally I just keep an eye out for location shops so I can repair in the field. Later on (still not there, m'self) you unlock warehouses or somethin' you can build in provinces that gives you access to your treasury, and you can repair through those.

I generally prefer pikemen to swordsmen myself, if only because they deal with chaff enemies (goblins, skeletons, etc.) without taking any damage (usually). The fact that they're guaranteed to do at least some damage (or take a swing, if nothing else) even against stuff that one shots them (which swordsmen don't get to do) also tilts my favor toward them a bit. They're still plenty tough, too.

As for web, I've been sorta' interested in it, but noticed the "only for stuff with a resistance <=3" caveat which is... bad. A lot of the stuff I'd really like to be webbing has a resistance higher than three :-\
