Best part of Morrowind: No compass, like in all the new TES games.
"Back in my day, WE USED A DAMN MAP TO FIND THE DAMN CAVE. None of this pansy ass, GPS bullshit. You had to know where the hell you were going, know how to take directions, know which way NORTH was. And GOD HOPTOAD HELP YOU if you got lost, because you'd have to JUMP UP MOUNTAINS to get your bearings back."
FTFY.

I loved that jump spell. Get enough acrobatics to mitigate the fall damage if you aim it right, then cross the entire island in... a short period of time. By jumping between mountains. Best way to travel.

... better if you modded out those damn cliff racers, but anyway.

General Discussion / Re: Why do weaboos use tildes to end sentences?

So, uh. Seeing as I've never bothered to figure it out beyond it being something vaguely derogatory towards people who don't rabidly dislike Japanese media, and would really rather not actually search the internet for clarification (because I can't see that ending well), what exactly qualifies as a weaboo? I certainly use the tilde occasionally (it's faster to type than a music note), but I'm confused if I somehow fit into this strange category of internet user.

Updated again~ Mostly bug fixing with some balance suchlike in and a little bit of new content. Couple donator specific content thingies that urk me a lil',*but not much to say beyond that. Biggest thing I've noticed so far is some major quality of life improvements for Adventurers (including functioning golems and access to psionic wielding!), but I'm still settling in to things again.* 'Course, just between us, it shouldn't take much effort to mangle the stone wardens into something not requiring donations, kukuku. E: Or not. I can't code worth beans.

Still, things continue to progress! We're getting closer to V1 and the start of new campaigns, yeah.

... it's Etrian Odyssey. One of 'em, anyway. Three, I think.

Blazes if I know. I picked up a gun because I was having trouble getting the minions to do anything when I was melee, but if there's, like, actual classes or something I haven't noticed yet. Been raising everything except strength and vitality (little bit of that, not much) to varying degrees, and figured out how to tell skill-stuff to start going up, but I haven't bothered to figure out how to get/use magic yet. Still going through the tunnel whatsits the starting sequence sends you after, murdering kotodamas and everything else that pops up in the room with 'em. Got the starting pixie and cerebus (level 4-ish, both, iirc) and a cait sith, so far.

... huh. Did, or will, you guys, like... survive that? Because that whatever-the-hell-it-is (WTHII)looks like it's about to eat you.

Uguu... tentative opinion so far is that the combat is kinda' terrible :(

Biggest issue being minion responsiveness, really. Even after turning off defensive talent use, the critter just kinda' stands there a lot, and often just sits and stares while some enemy bugger mauls my face, instead of, like, doing something.

Combat in general just feels kinda' clumsy, very... unfluid, to mangle up a word. Multiple keypresses where one really should be sufficing, a lot of manual stuff that should be automated (or at least queued up, and the queue itself turned into a macro), lots of odd delays or lack of feedback regarding why something buggered up (trying to use items, ferex, sometimes takes tapping the use button several times instead of once. Doesn't seem to be lag causing it, though). Having to stop and glow between shots for a ranged weapon... stuff like that. Probably going to give it some more chances in a bit, but it's currently kinda' unpleasant :-\

Basically could stand a lot of quality of life improvement, I think. Not sure how much of it is intentional, though.

Based on his location, and use of capitals, I'm assuming Australian Tertiary Admission Rank
Ah. That makes more sense than suddenly having the burning and unburning fire erupt from within (with positive results even!), but is considerably less awesome. Oh well...

... Atar? Was it, like, uh. Inside you or... something? Can you breath it now?

General Discussion / Re: Neuroscience

"Just so" story about evolution, sweeping generalizations (women's intuition, etc.), descriptive -> prescriptive shift, massive simplification in regards to child socialization issues... your thoughts make me want to strangle things :(

I don't think the issues regarding behavioral patterns you were referring to are even remotely sufficiently explained by the difference in physiology you described. Partially, perhaps (perhaps even certainly), but sufficiently, not even close.

My current thoughts on neuroscience is that it's extremely promising in a lot of areas, but we should leave behavioral suggestions to behavioral psychology and sociology until the field of neuroscience is considerably more developed. And get some damn philosophers (or at least philosophically well trained neuroscientists) on board if they're going to be aiming to make sweeping prescriptive or value statements :-\

Uncle asks me what book i would want for christmas, i have no idea. Parent shows me some pages from one of those shop folders with some books on them, i don't really like any of them. Mom asks me why, i can't answer, and now she's pissed at me.
"All too expensive. Maybe give me a coupon for one trip to a thrift or used book store? I like to read, so being able to have seven or eight books for the price of one..."

"Nothing catches my eye" is a good line for that, too.

I'd be running, too. Most of the large birds like that can pretty easily break things in you if they decide to have a few kicks at you. Vaguely remember ostriches being a bit more chill, though. S'the emus and the cassowaries you gotta' watch out for. Cassowary freaking end your talking monkey arse.

23728
I seem to have no particular clue what I'm doing, so far. Current primary question: Is there any way to get your minions to actually, like, attack consistently, short of mashing their skill hotkey repeatedly?

The walking speed is so outrageously slow without buying a decent mount that I just gave up on the game a while ago. Nice to have more options for SMT fans, though.
Temptation, and then... mabinogi slow? Designed so you spend a lot of time mindlessly walking from point a to point b, in such a way to notably exaggerate the effect of slow walking?

... probably try it anyway, but... that'll probably run me off after a bit :-\
