... would... would the caloric intake from consuming the passengers/crew of an old ship like that actually be a net gain from the caloric expense of ripping a ship in half like that? The mind ponders!

Now, a Groundhog Day type of immortality would suck major cactus testicles.
Makes both great and terrible fanfiction, though!

Seriously though, depends on the conditionals. Exact same day over and over'd get a lil'boring, but give us some more leeway and things become interestin'.

Meanwhile, in the Seventh Millennium...
... things are fairly chill, really. We've got another thirty-something to go before stuff goes tits up.

... wish I knew where that saying came from, though. Hrm... E: Nothing particularly impressive. Mostly just "flat on your back" with connotations of belly up, ala a dead fish. Might have a war connection, but that's apparently fairly flimsy.

23810
The states do, to a large extent, yeah. Our "war on drugs" is basically a rolling human rights violation and our prison system, by and large, is shit. It's a rage worthy topic, but one better suited for a more dedicated thread (Progressive thread, maybe occupy, perhaps.).

I said something along those lines. I still feel like I was right about it, at the time, if you couldn't secure a kill, you fell way too behind way too fast. He just didn't have enough AoE nor enough synergy with gold items to make him anything more than pubstompy at best.

Now is a different story. He has damn near exactly the right mix of AoE and single target damage to do amazingly well in the new jungle, and he has a *lot* more options now, even if he falls behind. S3 jungle was a serious buff for him.
Haven't been paying much attention to the jungle since I'm pretty terrible at it, but... what's the S3 jungle changes that make such a difference? The time or two I've done SR so far, I didn't notice anything staggeringly different beyond the itemization stuff. What does an S3 jungle game look like, that's different from S2?

*scratches head* If... if there's still interest come monday I can hop over to the library and ask what folks around here are getting. Library's the ones handling most of the welfare processing for my town, insofar as general family stuff goes. Small town, which probably throws some stuff off, but... still. S'something. Can't recall Florida's primary website thingy at the mo', but it'd be pretty easy to get that and, like, check monthly stipends and crap.

Or call up mi madre, I guess. Works with adult education, probably be able to point me at info for that.

E: I can say that florida unemployment caps out at 275/week, at max, or 14-ish thousand a year.

Looking up some more stuff (Found TANF documentation, so far), most of what I'm running into is giving families comfortably less than the poverty line, nevermind median income. I'd be fairly comfortable at this point calling bullshit by the numbers, in Florida, at least.

I'd prefer option C: Go backstage and beat the shit out of whoever's running the joint. If it's a self-perpetuating cycle, find a way to end it. I want either non-existence or unconditional immortality, damnit. Half-way measures of suffering and more suffering followed by the stage becoming incapable of supporting more actors doesn't cut it, even if there are upsides to incarnation. There's darn good reasons why most major reincarnation systems these days have strong messages of "This is how you get out."

Regardless, I'm mostly of the opinion these days that afterlife, reincarnation or otherwise, is irrelevant to ethical action in the here and now. I'd keep walking th'same rate I am, if I had actual evidence there was a round X+1 after this one. It doesn't make a difference in regard to right action.

"right here" taken literally would be the worst position.
Ah, that makes this a fair question, then. How much of a Literal Genie* are we dealing with, here?

Ar Tonelico Qoga, yeah. Ran into it off a LP. Lyrics are... surprising, actually. Kinda' decent message for something that sounds like... that. And fitting to the scenario it popped up in... somehow.

I'm not entirely sure what the blue christ I'm listening to, but it's disturbingly pleasing. And entirely too... cute.

Can only guess the style's a bit more common in... other places. Or something. I've actually heard similar vocals (from parts of it, anyway -- some of the male chorus bits I've heard very close lyrics in... christmas music, I think.) in western stuff, but...

Anyway, time to listen to it for the sixth sequential time. I'll burn out... eventually.

E: Amusing part is that track apparently powered a fleet destroying superweapon. Folks involved were kinda', uh. WTFing. A little.

Forget the other two options and the excessive loot. I'll take the long shot and pick about an hour before the big bang and a stick I nabbed off the ground, in order to find out what happens if you poke a singularity with a stick. Maybe a camera too, to record it or whatev'.

Barring that... Siddhartha, Jesus, Muhammed. And a tape recorder/camera. Maybe a taser or some knockout gas or somethin', too. Hostile natives, probably. Get some questions answered and on tape, y'know?

23819
I've... actually seen that line a few times, in real life. No real odd looks about. Cursing is cursing, for most people consistency and logic are irrelevant.

Which is why their cursing isn't very interesting and kinda' mundane. Insult should be an art, and if you're going to spew vulgarities you should at least be doing something interesting with it. Iambic pentameter, swapping between multiple languages, whatever really. Make some work out of it. Seussian swearing is a neat way to pass the afternoon.

When the blazes did toonyman change nam... wait. Different person. I am now violently confused!

Right, anyway. Maybe if folks are wanting to continue to pursue things, have it go the way of the pony? Make another forum, take it over there, leave it over there. Obviously there's a degree of interest in the creative aspect of it, but that aspect has a habit of running into forum guidelines full tilt. Easy solution is to take it elsewhere, where the ToS on that particular aspect is looser.
