Today I learned of stargazy pie, the pie with fish heads sticking out of it.

I can think of less visually appealing pie, but not without... difficulty.

Yeah, the GLBLWMR I took to mean "global warmer."  Basically it's real-world trolling / flame bait.
I didn't even recognize that as a possibility until y'all mentioned it. I was trying to figure out what the WMR at the end of girls love/boys love meant. It was better when it was just gay :-\

Usually, all those games like Void Bastards that contains some roguelike elements are called roguelite.
You may think there's no need to have a different genre name and call every of them "roguelike", but then you may not have seen roguelike-only boards with  "Berlin Interpretation" zealots reacting with fury.
Seen, yes, but the proper roguelike community reaction to genre purist nonsense is ignoring or laughing at them. If folks are calling this VB thing a roguelike with any regularity, that's good enough for hobbyist* work :P

*Or at least me, and there was a point I had sunk a hour or two into literally every english (and some that weren't) roguelike playable on windows (though that was over a decade ago and there were much, much fewer of them), so close enough!

I think technically like illwinter's (dominions, conquest of elysium) entire lineup has that. Dominions just straight up lets you play as R'lyeh. Both series has several different varieties of ancient evil to play as.

Keep digging, you'll find the dead possum sooner or later.

The trick that worked pretty well for some folks around here was... to be friendly. Get them accustomed to humans, willing to be around people, places.

And then wait a short period for someone or another to kill and eat them :P

It's disturbingly effective, and also young deer horn fuzz is like the softest thing ever holy shit it is soft. They're adorable critters when they lack self-preservation habits, for the fairly short time that lack persists.

I mean, I've had dreams like that, and they were substantially less terrifying even when I was smol frumple. The vivid might-as-well-be-real thing-to-panic-over part is what gets the heart going 160 or somethin'.

Dream brain saw fit to inflict me with a high fidelity hallucination of a snake falling down on my bed. Woke up with my heat beating fast enough I may have been close to a literal heart attack, and about five ten minutes later it is still notably accelerated :-\

Wasn't till a bit after waking up in a goddamn panic and nearabout literally jumping through my bedroom door that I realized I could actually see the damn thing, something that wasn't exactly likely in my more or less pitch black room. Fucking shit hell, I needed sleep, not murder attempts.

Oh, not surprised at all about the poor behavior on that front. One I have to deal with at least limits themselves with insisting they have multiple wives and claiming every child they see is their own.

It's just the popsicle probably no longer pops (without potentially fatal pharmaceutical assistance, anyway), so to speak.

One good thing about usually keeping the sound muted, that. I've seen the originating video for the shark thing, but I've never heard the audio :P

Salt and rice sounds more like things that will bring invading forces in, not keep them out...

Only if you let yourself be. If you want to tell everyone you're the answer to the universal question, don't let silly things like physical reality or the passing of time stop you.

... alternatively, look on the bright side: Only a couple more decades before you're the nicest age (and probably too decrepit for it to be anything but an idle joke, ho ho ho)!

Today I spent a few hours using a knife to carve a dowel into a handle for a shovel and it feels kind of neat that I've done it but I still have like eight more shovels that need new handles and it's gonna take forever.
I mean, you got the handle, right there. Just strap all the other shovels to that one and be done with it :P

I might play it but something that's been bugging me about that type of game is that they always start you off as a level one dickhead fighting goblins.  I really, really hate goblins as a D&D enemy, like I think goblins are maybe the worst thing in the entire game, but that's particular and I won't get distracted by that tangent.  I just don't like the nature of the power curve in games like that.  I want to start off as a crack squad of Big Boys and get into the more interesting and complex gameplay that comes with more resources and deadlier enemies right away.  I'm sick of fighting chaff with guys that can barely do anything, it sucks and I hate it.
That mostly just makes me remember Incursion, ha. Easily one of the best D&D ruleset interpretations I've encountered in part becase basically that, right there. It started you off at level one, but it was a level one where even the least mechanically complicated class (warrior) would be doing shit, right out the gate.

No vancian crap hobbling the casters, pretty much everyone had pretty damn neat tricks they could pull off even on level 1, even first floor enemies had a fair amount of potential tricks... it wasn't party based (well, sorta'), but there's been precious few D&D inspired games I've encountered that had the start be anything but a kill-ten-rats slog. Incursion had you cavalry charging and wuxia jumping and wand blasting and minion chucking from the word go. Thing did so goddamn much right.

The "fun" thing is it seems to be wildly shittily written -- to the tune of there being no penalties for frivolous suits or filing from out of state and a burden of proof of "anonymous rumor" to sue. Current plan from a lot of sources seems to be "sue every person in texas and rake in 10k from anyone that doesn't show up in court".
