If you're talking about getting it out of your new replies list, the answer is "you don't" :P

My stance is this: the US is indeed terrifying but I wouldn't call it terrorist.
I mean, I absolutely would. We've armed, trained, and let loose more than one batch over them over the years, nevermind the horseshit we've done more directly. We've been regularly committing or encouraging terrorist attacks on other countries for pretty much all my life, and by everything I'm aware of we were worse prior to it. Call a horse a horse, y'know?

It's just we're too goddamn big and violent for anyone to really call us on it.

If it helps any.

It's fairly well known slang, from what I understand. Personally started encountering it when I started reading decent amounts of translated works of martial arts fantasy fiction, piles of which originate in areas where the slang use is seen enough it shows up in writing pretty regularly.

i don't actually understand how we get butt flowers out of this
Chrysanthemum is a (primarily chinese, but possibly other cultures, too) euphemism for the butthole, due to the way their flowers are shaped. The more you know!

2420
Here's hoping your butt flower makes it! Never forget you can use it as an endless source of casual euphemisms.

I'unno, I think they work decently enough? They're not meant to be some kind of super accurate meteorological designation, they're rough categories for likely conditions/appropriate response in the effected area. It's never struck me as misleading, and I've lived through being in the general area of the entire gamut at this point; everything past maybe cat 2 will fuck you up, treat accordingly. Shit ain't complicated.

That the higher categories in particular kinda' blur together doesn't actually make much of a difference -- you're pretty omnifucked by anything past maybe cat 2 if you're in their way, 4 and 5 are just special "extra omnifucked" designations. Not what I'd call misleading, y'know?

2422
So hey, ida's up to cat 4, may hit cat 5 before omnifucking the Louisiana coast somewhere in the next day or so. If, uh, anyone happens to be over there and there's enough time/clear enough roads to get out, now is the time to fucking leave for a few days. Throwing that one out there.

If anyone related to you isn't cooperative on that point, I hear a sock filled with batteries is a good way to knock them unconscious long enough to tie up and stuff in a vehicle. okay so that's bad advice, but it might still be better advice than staying in the way of a cat 4+ hurricane please get out and leave the suicidal ones if you have to

I'unno, what I've picked up from fox hostile sources was that while the drought et al isn't exactly helping, cali (among a number of other places, sure) forest management has in fact been a clusterfuck for a long while now, in ways that specifically encourage massive wildfires.

The drought and heat being less the major contributing factor and more the trigger for decades of screwing up to come home to roost -- lot of NIMBY horseshit causing insufficient controlled burnings and problems with that whole "fire response was heavily reliant on basically fucking penal slavery" thing, among other stuff.

GOP's no doubt trying to play stupid games chock full of bullshit to fuck people over, 'cause that's basically all they do anymore, but problems with fire control out west actually seem to exist.

hurricanes are the real reason id live anywhere else.

how south cali?
better in most ways, from what I understand... except the cost of living i guess

also, uh, earthquakes i think and their forestry management is somehow dumber than a sack of bricks so it's basically on fire a good chunk of the year these days or something

probably still better than florida, but bamboo splinters jammed under your nails are probably better than florida so *shrugs*

You're in Michigan?
michigan's a hellbog at worst, which makes it a notable improvement over florida 'cause sometimes it actually cools off

Tango Serenoto de Schubert, apparently by gustavo montesano (I'd never actually paid attention to the musician, heh). One of the chillest classical arrangements I've heard in my life, I think. Been part of my main playlist for like... somewhere approaching two decades now or somethin'. Really should get around to scoping more of the artist's works...

Yeah, when I read "stone", I didn't even think metal. That it was anything except microcline didn't even occur to me until rol said something implying it could be something else...

Some folks have lost theirs, yeah. I know I haven't been arsed to fix mine ever since upl.co went down.

... just to, uh. Make sure? You're taking a different GSA than this one, right? Probably this'un, instead.

Took me a google search and a minute to find/remember the second one... don't think any of the schools I went to had one, or if they did it wasn't well advertised :-\

2430
... so Ida be comin'. Current predictions seem to be suggesting landfall sunday as a cat 3 or stronger... probably smack dab on top of Louisiana.

I've probably said it before, but if so I'll say it again. I'm seeing a pattern, here, and if I were living in louisiana right now, I'm pretty sure I'd be figuring out how the hell to move to somewhere else. Something seems to have turned the poor bastards into a hurricane magnet over the last decade or so :-\
