Don't remember where entropy falls in there, but farming apex predators in general is pretty poor agriculture. Humans in general have too high of an energy intake to be economical to farm, I think.

Not even my idea! Fate/stay night :P

I've seen some awesome "King Arthurs" come out of Fate/stay fanfiction, heh.

E: Aaah, hit the two minute mark (Okay, more like 1:59, whatever.) in Shnabubula's Dueling Consoles. Delicious music tinglies!

Original Merlin. The most badass wizard ever.
Eehhh. He's (when he's male, anyway. Didn't the original spend a few years female?) got points for being one of the first (Sorta'. Kinda'.), but definitely not the most badass one ever.  Just somewhere near-ish the top. I've definitely ran into several just in fanfiction (Including alternate Merlins!) that could top the original merlin pretty easily.

Don't mistake me, dude(occasionally -tte) gets mad props, but he's not on the top of the totem pole(s) :P

The Merlin. King Arthur's Merlin.

I was King Arthur too. I duelled a superpowerful being of pure magic for like six turns, quite successfully I might add.
There's dozens of both of those! I dub thee Arturia, tiny blonde woman. Still an impeccable swordsperson, though!

I'ma laugh when you get ganked by a genderflipping (wait, was that canon or elsewhere?) wench and stuck in a cave for a few decades.

Though, I guess... man, which merlin? There's dozens of them!

For a second I was going to ask if you could burn a rock, but then I realized you can, in fact, put a rock out in sunlight for a while and then warm yourself or cook things with it. So, uh. Yeah, the rock's more useful in like all counts.

Though I guess you couldn't make makeshift smoking-things out of a rock... wait, no. Pipes, right.

Man, why do we use paper again?

Kinda' side along, but regarding the propoagnosia... is it just faces? I sorta' ask because I'm terrible about making eye-contact (information overload, gives me a headache. Also twigs the fuck out of my paranoia because I know it can go both ways.) and don't really pay attention to facial structure and suchlike as a matter of course. Most of my individual recognition comes from other aspects, particularly voice and physical mannerisms (movement, posture, physical build, etc. More the way folks move than anything, though I have difficulty consciously recognizing whatever it is I'm picking out.) and... I'unno, maybe trying to switch tracks to that could help? I speak largely from ignorance, but if it's a possibility...

Reading through People Lie again. S'been a long while (couple years, maybe?), but... it is pleasing. About 2/3rds of the way through since starting last night. Some lines are just, just great.

Hey, bright side, bright side. That's still significantly less time than it would have taken to walk that distance.

I use the archive function on gmail. I don't even know.
You can hit "All Mail" and check, I think.

Incidentally, regarding the OP, I have no idea. I've got about 4k of varying messages in my primary email account and another thousand or so in my primary secondary account, but plenty of that is automated stuff and the rest I've got no clue as to the read status.

That nine month downtime is a major weakness, and the notably incapacitated period near the end of it is an overt example of something we don't really want. Getting things to the point that there's no more need for that trouble would be a fairly major step forward for our species. Regardless as to any social changes that may come along with it, excising humanity's reliance on the process would do nothing but good.

I'm not even entirely sure what you mean when you say "family structure" or how the nine-month pregnancy period is necessary for it, or how you get from "remove the incapacitating pregnancy period" to "effectively sterilize humans".

Specifically, what I was saying is that LoS's "nine month period bond" can be not just abstracted away, but outright removed. That such would be a good thing would be a different issue.

Iron womb, baby. Give it a few more decades, maybe a century or so (if that), and we'll be able to toss that bit out the window as the annoyance it is.

So, uh. It seems like you might be making the area better off if you helped the fellow out? Kids get loot, he runs south of the border and probably gets eaten by the cartels, you get paid. Win/win/win?

Is there a professional ethical rule about not helping people ruin their lives, even if the people in question want to? Because it looks like you're in a perfect position to grant a genie's wish ♪
