I'm more curious why the blazes they were able to just turn their head and apparently look at what other folks were doing or summat. Any particular reason Riot or whoev' couldn't just put up, I dunno, a screen or something? Block field of vision?

I've been hit on by random guys in real life because they thought I was a girl, back when I had super-long hair.  Somehow this even happened at times when I wasn't clean-shaven.  I don't have a girlish voice.  The femininity of long hair is just that deeply ingrained, I guess.
I've seemed to be seeing long-haired males a bit more regularly in the last decade or so, though generally in a tight braid. Still, pattern might be shifting ever so slightly. Which would be nice, because of all the g'damn ridiculous things to be basing gender-sterotypes on that one's up there.

I think I just drank like four apples. Going by an average weight of five ounces, anyway. Some bits missing, I guess, but still.

So good, heee.

I have sat in some incredibly comfortable unpadded wooden chairs. It's mostly a matter of construction (and a bit of many years of people sitting in it, slowly wearing a perfectly human molded seat.).

Most wooden ones are built terribly in regards to comfort. But some. Some stand (sit?) out.

... think your teachers would forgive you a day or two's absence for indulgence in petty spite? Email/call and check, maybe? You might be able to swing lingering for a bit extra.

Didn't the idjit already have to replace his key once?

So, uh. For the uninitiated, what would that do, exactly? Slow things down in general?

Ah! I have a downsized one I use as a footrest/leg putting place on the bed. They're nice. Wouldn't mind a larger one, actually.

I'm now envisioning a kind of beanbag chair container that has an attached and repositionable desk-thing, kinda' like you see on classroom desks. Just mobile, so you can adjust it to be near you when once you arrange yourself on the beanbag. So you'd have beanbag chair plus stability plus desk room, all in the same space.

I think it'd be close to my intention of taking some hardwood planks, making a box out of 'em, putting it on the floor and then filling it with pillows and blankets. As a bed/nest. Bugger mattresses, I'll make my own sleeping surface.

Man. I'd love to see that applied to other things. How do you grade an illegible essay, when the essay's illegibility is mandated by the state? Roll three d100s and take the average?

You too, huh. I haven't talked to or seen my half brothers in... a few (three, four?) years now, mostly because they're still living with my father who I want basically nothing to do with (unless he's been sober for a fair period, which, still no.). Feel kinda' iffy about it at times, but... eh. I'd probably feel worse if I hadn't been mid-teens by the time they came around and pretty well developed without 'em, I guess.

They came up to ask me for help or somethin' and it was in my power I'd chip in at the drop of a hat, but actually being around the padre... nah. Rather not.

Worst: All of them.

Least worst: High-backed with tall-ish arms and plenty of cushioning. Something I can kick my feet over one of the arms and lounge/nap in.

Beds, chaise lounges, etc., so forth, so on. That's where it's at. Hammock-like constructions are also acceptable. I'm a person that doesn't really like sitting. If I'm not able to lay down, I'd rather be standing. Or sitting against a wall on the floor. Usually as comfortable as chairs, that. You can jury-rig things using multiple chairs that are somewhat acceptable.

Seventeen, heh. And for what it's worth, I've been quoted in there by both RK and FD :P

I was darkly amused by the "modest home" followed by "converted the garage into a office" bit, m'self. I think I've said it before, as have others. It's just a near complete cognitive disconnect; these people seem to literally not understand what modest genuinely looks like. It's not a home with a garage. The rest was fairly objectionable throughout, but that part stood out to me, hum.

Eh, depends on how you consider the > signs being manifested. You can do stuff with launchers that you just can't do with cannons or beams for quite a while. Wrecking T3 stations basically from the start is the big one, there :P Takes a while to do it (insofar as holding down the attack button goes), but it's a cinch to start dropping stations as soon as you get the tech up to do damage to their shields faster than they regen. Which happens really, really early.

Cannons and beams you actually have to get close enough the station can shoot back. Fie on that, I say.

Launchers also seem to be a lot better en masse (that is, on all your ships) than cannons or beams, because they've got a pretty solid chance of continuing on to hit something if they blow up the current target. Even in vanilla, I'd fairly regularly see a full missile volley from my fleet destroy like three or four small ships in one go. From the ubiquitous 3+k out, of course. You've got to aim with the primary direct fire weapons. Missiles you just keep outputting constantly as soon as you're within the (massive) range. Makes a heck of a difference.

And yeah, the mod I think a few of us are playing changes things up a bit. Especially if you (ab)use the auto-turrets and launchers. Effing ridiculous, melt everything in .2 seconds. So much dakka, aiee... Launchers definitely seem to be >>>>>>>> everything else in fight for big beef, from what I've seen. Including your CPU.

Incidentally, though, a grinder with a single huge beam and nothing but beam boosters is loving hilarious. It's great to see your constant beam go further out than the viewing area ;D

Siggy was also a bit of a homage to previous FFs, for what that's worth. Dude's shown up with various spellings in a few of the early FF games, iirc.

I just have a lot easier time of landing shots with beams, m'self, especially from further out where it's safer, and they're much nicer in general on turrets, insofar as accuracy goes. Damage per second is less if you're landing everything, but that's what tech and boosters are for, t'me.

Launchers are absolute murder (from 3.5-4k out, to boot) up until you hit zombies. Then, somewhat less useful for a bit until you've got other ways of dealing with the buggers. Then back to just murdering everything.
