Blazes if I know. It was one of the cases where I'd said, "Hey, I'll help get stuff out when we've got somewhere for it to go" the response was "okay" and when I went out to check and see if the thing was left open 'cause the smell seemed to be intensifying, 90% of the stuff was bagged up and sitting on the floor of the porch. If I had to wager a guess, it's probably because th'grandfather did something or another to annoying the grandmother (again) and having that unholy hellstench waiting for when he got back from gossiping eating was a means of counter-annoyance or somethin'.

Okay, so. A week or two ago, we thought something had got behind one of the outside freezers and died.* It had happened a couple times before, no big, let nature take its course. Well.

Today. Today, grandmother checked the freezer itself, again. Had done so before, thought it was working fine, etc., etc., etc.

No mos. Turns out it had died. It had died quite a while ago. Open box, receive a good hundred pounds of rotten food. Which is currently sitting on the front porch until the person who'd know (and have the means of transportation necessary to move the stuff) what to do with it returns.

The stench. Sweet monkey god, the fucking stench. It is omnipresent. It suffuses the house, the yard... I wouldn't be surprised if the neighbors are getting a whiff of this by now. It is everywhere. It is terrible. It is the odour of rotten flesh and vegetables. Fucking. Everywhere. Smell. Bad. Bad. Small. There was rot ooze. In the bottom of the freezer. Along with the water from the melting stuff.

If this is what natto smells like, gods shat how the hell does anyone manage to consume it?

In other and related news, I noticed the warning on the peppermint oil to dilute before application to flesh a little too late. Space between nose and upper lip burns a little now. It is a cold burn, and it blocks out the rotstench. Somewhat. To a degree. Buggery hell. Day just turned somewhat terrible, because yeargh.

*The observant already know where this is going.

I'm not sure what that is. I do have the sudden horrifying concept of a cigar flavored lollipop.

I wouldn't be surprised if they exist, but if they do, whoever makes them is a monster.

24499
Sometimes, sure.

I've never actually seen someone lick a lollipop as the primary way of consuming it, though. Nor make various suggestive motions in the process.

So, it's pretty obvious when a lollipop is just a lollipop. It's when a lil'stick is just kinda' hanging out of someone's mouth. Allowances for mouth distension when it's one of the bigger one. Squirrel!cheek is acceptable.

Y'know, I just realized, it's kind of like Earth: God made Earth a beautiful, incredible place, and made up for it by putting humans there (No offense meant to French individuals).
FTFY.

But yeah, mountains. I've been up to north carolina for vacation a couple of times, so far. I was utterly unsurprised to learn I have an easier time staying upright going up and down the side of a mountain than I do walking across a parking lot. Freaking unnaturally flat surfaces mumblemutter.

Also bloody beautiful and wonderful summer weather. Shame about the majority of the inhabitants.

Re: Mints: I'm... not very fond of mints? I do peppermint, and I can eat mints -- even gnaw on the leaves a bit -- but it's not exactly my favorite taste sensation. And mint chocolate... bloody travesty. Why people insist on doing that to chocolate I'll never know :-\

Could just be sensitivity in general, dunno. I know that weight-appropriate dosages of a lot of things have caused me to borderline overdose in the past (some painkillers for post-surgery recovery nearly killed me, despite being the standard dosage, ferex.), so it's not just body weight.

If you keep on it, it'll acclimate, though. S'one of the annoying things about a lot of the psychoactive stuff, they have a habit of taking a few days/weeks to really 'set in' and start working appropriately. During which things can be pretty terrible or just not doing much.

And then sometimes it just doesn't work. It's a nasty pseudo-secret that a lot of times prescriptions for that sort of stuff is as much guesswork as anything else. All they really can do a lot of times (For now, anyway. The field advances, of course.) is just more-or-less randomly try something until it sticks for the individual.

Someone in the ToME4 chat actually recognized which Frumple this username was inspired by, a good decade and a half or so ago. First time that's happened, so far as I can remember. It's surprisingly cheering! Though that might also be the fact that it's 2:30 in the morning and I'm still awake, hum.

I'm... now terribly curious how the hell that's legal. Also putting that city on the list. I think the whole state was already on it, actually, but redundancy never hurts.

Swim trunks are the one true path. Matches the airiness of boxes with the support of briefs, and if for some reason you have to suddenly drop trou and walk off, you won't have grounds to be arrested for it. *sage nod*

What the... *googles*

What is this majesty? Is this some kind of touhou equivalent to the megaman soccer games?

HANS!

* kaijyuu dogpiles him.
It... isn't hans an underwear brand name? My brain seems to be making that connection, and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's socks, I'unno.

* Frumple has image of Kaij doing the money-swim thing, only through great heaps of briefs.

Opera representin'. Still the lowest memory imprint per tab I've found ♫

Still getting back into the swing of things, though. Only twenty tabs open :-\

That'll change, kekeke.

Legal in quite a few states, at least. Haven't they killed a few people? Might be conflating 'em with something that happened a bit back with a boot-camp style wazthing, I'unno.

I don't normally post something revolving around an imagine, but...
Spoiler: Sweet mother a'Zeus (click to show/hide)

I find myself deeply suspicious of that ad. On the other hand, if that's what a fair chunk of social workers think when they think 'baby', it may explain some of the inefficiencies in the system.

Hey, it means more for you. Take that for what it is.

I can actually stand sour cream and onion potato chips but that's like, it. Every other application of onion I've tried (which is many and varied, because onions are in goddamn everything and I don't always notice before biting into it) has been a net loss both for the meal itself and my mouth afterwards (freaking lingering aftertaste!). Shit's both vile and potent. Doesn't take much to ruin something.

I'm kinda' leery about a lot of foods but onion's the culinary equivalent of a rage button. Outside the chips, I've never had any that didn't taste terrible to me -- including ones that were raved about by onion aficionados, so it's not just a matter of consistently hitting low quality. Nasty junk.

Onion powder's not that bad, basically. It's just the actual minced onions, because you bite into those and the taste gets concentrated. They're like little depth charges of vileness sunk into my meals. Blergh.
