I would much rather sit here and grip my axe.
Are you double-grippin' or single-grippin'?
It's pretty big, so double grip.
Why stop there? You have feet and hair. Quintuple grip, so you don't slip ♪

Unfortunately most teachers have implicit rules against being a smart ass.
Yeah, but if it's not explicit you can haul their ass in front a board of inquiry if they dock your grade for it. At least once you hit college and suchlike, providing the school or teacher doesn't have something specific against such in their paperwork. Most they can usually do is tell you to re-do it and clarify their instructions. Things get somewhat more finicky once money starts getting thrown around ♫

Madre being a teacher, I've actually seen a few cases of that happening. S'why you see standard formatting stuff on syllabuses nowadays ♪

One of the reasons, anyway.

In daily WTF, coming back from trip grandfather decided he'd rather piss himself than stop at a rest stop. Still not quite sure what the fuck to think about that.
Eh, he probably just thought he could hold it. Getting old sucks. I don't blame people for being in denial about their lessened capabilities, even in cases like these.
No, he'd mentioned needing to go well before seeing the rest stop sign, and despite multiple "Hey, you can stop, you should stop"s directly stated that he'd just pee himself instead. Before actually reaching the rest stop turn off. And then driving right past. There wasn't any denial involved.

General Discussion / Re: justified back seat driving
« on: September 27, 2012, 04:20:25 pm »
Commercial convincing me to, maybe not. But I just spent most of the last seven hours riding herd on a fellow in his 80s from the passenger seat. So yeah.

It's not exactly backseat driving, I guess, but the fact of the matter is when the passenger's paying more attention to the road and the driver's driving than the driver is, it's probably a good idea to speak up if necessary. Blinker's still on, edging over 10 (15, 20, whatever) mph over (under, as needed) the limit, might want to get out of the oncoming traffic lane... stuff like that.

Ahahaha, okay, playing energy breaker (which just recently got translated) because I can't sleep. Greatest thing just happened! Or at least one of those things that make me laugh. You spend the first while of the game getting back to your traveling companion (a mad scientist-type dude) house.

It's great!

I don't know why. I just kinda' like it when one of the main protagonists get kicked around a bit, but not in an angstangstwangst bishiefest monstrosity way. Black Sigil (on the DS) was pretty great about starting off with that, too. Something about it makes me... cheerful.

No... grandfather's driving, because I generally can't convince him otherwise. This translates into having to be constantly alert the whole bloody time to help make sure the vehicle stays on the right side of the road and doesn't do various things-it-should-not-do. It's about the next worst thing to actually driving, really, so far as my nerves go.

Bleh. Six hour+ road trip starting tomorrow at seven in th'morning, it's 11 pm now and trying to sleep is giving me a headache. As in, literally -- closing my eyes and trying to rest is causing a massive pounding pain in my skull, that's not really there (or at least much, much less acute) when my eyes are open and I'm not trying to rest. Kinda' sucks, especially as I'm tired to boot.

Times like this that make me want to strangle people who present the proposition of a creator deity as true. Bastard thing's either incompetent or sadistic, and it's rare that either of those qualities gets assigned to the thing.
