General Discussion / Re: You Pizza Toppings!
« on: September 25, 2012, 10:24:25 am »
I'll be honest. Anything sugary on a pizza (cookie dough crust, ice cream on top) sounds disgusting. Unless it is specifically one of those dessert pizzas, without cheese or tomato sauce or anything.
Last time I did something like that, I had cut (plain glazed) donuts in half length-wise, stuck 'em on some leftover pizza, and the warmed the thing up. It was delicious. Basically, I'd recommend trying it before dismissing the concept. It works surprisingly well! Salt, fat, and sugar? Lizard brain orgasm ♫

I've got a habit of sweetening a lot of things, though, especially meats. Honey or syrup (Maple preferred, cane acceptable), usually -- lightly, but noticeably. So there may be a bit of personal oddity, there.

Throwing in on the extra cheese bandwagon.

After that comes whatever combination of meat I feel like chopping up and sprinkling over the thing before adding the cheese. Sometimes other things! I wings it. All I know is if it's not home made it never has enough toppings or cheese.

Also needs thicker crust/dough. Some do that alright, but a good pizza's grain part will weigh as much as the rest of it, and the rest of it will weigh more than your cat. This is my measure of good pizza.

I had a pet banana spider once... well, a few times. Insofar as it made a web on the porch and we occasionally tossed bugs into said web.

As for trees. I like trees for the same reason I like grass, beyond the whole gas cycling thing. Roots.

Roots are also the reason any Floridian or coastal/flood-plain dweller loves trees, and grass, and plants in general. They're one of the primary reasons the whole bloody place doesn't just sweep off down river and out to sea.

Well... maybe that would be an improvement, I'unno. Swamps can go bugger themselves, though I admit I like the sound of a bog. Most of my beef with swamps come from the whole heat and humidity (and the biosphere-related consequences thereof) thing.

Nobody listens, though. Nobody hears you. Always. I'm not actually sure what gender nobody is, though. Nobody never really said.

Honestly, nobody doesn't do much besides hear you. Nobody's odd like that.

Nobody always does.

Nobody hears all. "Nobody hears you."

Here you go, with a little added. I couldn't find the original image either, but I didn't exactly look very hard, either. It's somewhere in creative projects unless something happened to it.

Lunatics are the rebel faction :P

All of it.

Seriously though, all the hug thing makes me think of the hugs and kisses elemental. Everytime you people bring up hugs, I remember that monstrosity.

Though I guess it's more happy than sad, I'unno. I'd be fine forgetting about that thing, really, but it was well played.

"♪ ... beat them with oars, steal their gold hugs for our kobold whores ♫"

Wish t'buggery I could remember where that came from. S'some webcomic or another. Ehn.

Lunarian.

At least according to Final Fantasy 4.
Lunarian's about the most regular one I see used (Sailor Moon has a disturbingly large amount of good fanfiction, crossover and otherwise. S'all there is to say, there.), and it fits the pattern better than most alternatives. I'd go with that'un.

Though a different naming heuristic might be in order for those living on satellites and non-planets. Hrm...

Other Games / Re: Terraria - 1.1 released!

Hardmode... mostly it just meant I had to start building down, for me. Even more underground than I normally did. Which made things a bit more difficult, yes, but interesting in its own way. The mechanical aspects of fortifying a base... changed, heh. But it was still fairly doable.

Definitely do wish the building aspect itself had been a bit more fluid. I would have loved to just designate an area and tell my worker NPC to go forth and backwall. And dig out, and put walls, and put lights, and... the point gets across. Building could have been less fiddly. Wider brush, ferex :P Especially for that bloody back wall. So time consuming >_<

Anyway. Kinda' feel like firing up terraria again, now :-\ It does take a while to get to hardmode stuff, though... and I've got other games to play, and stuff to do, etc., etc., etc.

Also worth noting the music is creative-commons licensed, iirc. Tells you in the credits file where it all came from, but here's a post on the t4 forums that provides quick links to 'em.

Doesn't help now, but yeah... ear plugs. And those little gun-range earmuff whatsits. If one or the other doesn't work, use both. Blocks out just about bloody everything. If that doesn't work, stick earbud headphones with light music on inside the muff-things. Anything loud enough to get through that's going to be destroying the building anyway so you'd have bigger problems, ha.

E: Disclaimer: Not responsible for repercussions if it allows you to sleep through a fire alarm. Just throwing that out there.

Ahaha, yeah. That trailer... someone had fun with that game. Seems a classic example of 'nerdgasm', really. That's the dark beast that powers fanfiction given form in a videogame.

There's no way that can go wrong~

Oh yeah... I almost remember that. Almost.

None are in english, huh. Mumblemumble. *checks to be sure*

Oh. Oooooh. Namco X Capcom got a fan translation. Hrm...
