Ah ha. Troublesome. Might have to hand it back off to the owner for a bit. itunes innit on the computer that I have access to, and there's basically no way in hell I'm installing it. Still, should be easy enough to work around, I guess.

Thanks for the heads up, fellows. It helps, heh.

Now with iPhone Chrome, there's not even a reason to use Safari on apple devices.
... your statement made me realize two things. One, I have no idea what's involved with updating the OS on an iPad. Two, this one's version isn't compatible with iPad chrome.

Damn.

Do not. Use. Safari.

Safari is shit.

There are other options. Use those. Maybe Opera, i'unno. Depends on the OS.

Well. Being fair. Maybe desktop safari isn't quite so much flaming excrement. iPad safari blows random animal gentilia, though. I've built up enough frustration with the portable version the desktop one can just go die in a fire.

... straw? Soap is for drinking? What?

E: Ah, wait. Some kind of sprayer thing, or dispenser? Just upend it and take the top off :P

Or dilute it some with some water, I guess.

Wait, wait. I thought the crash was primarily (though not strictly, of course) caused by the financial buggers doing some incredibly sleazy shit re: housing and some related things? Outsourcing is causing problems, definitely (and will until we -- as in humans across the globe -- can get worker conditions outside the post-industrial countries equalized to a sane standard. And keep the ones in them from backsliding, of course.), but I don't remember that being the major causative effect.

Maybe moreso than free-market capitalism, though. I think the buzzword they're liking to use nowadays is "crony" capitalism (which, from what I understand, is basically what happens when a free-market system gets top heavy with the sociopaths that thrive in said laissez-faire system), which is probably a big enough discussion to warrant another thread.

E: Or was that something earlier? Major spans of years kinda' mesh together for me, so far as large events go. At least within my actual life span. There is "before now," "way before now," and "now." Sometimes causing me confusions :P

What about something that's able, but factually does not interact with anything? Say some particle a sufficiently large distance outside the expanding edge of the universe moving away from it at the speed of light, or some silly shenanigan like that? It would be irrelevant, obviously, but would something that simply is incidentally outside the light cones of everything else, in perpetuity, be nonexistent?

There's actually a thought experiment re: free will regarding something like that, though I forget the exact set up and name. The thing with the possible -- yet not occurring -- intervention... does it still count as free will if, had you made a different decision, Interventionist X would have forced you to do otherwise? You never actually do anything to make Ix step in, etc. Sleepy and can't remember the whole thing. Has a name, involves remote controls or tv remotes or some such.

Parallel being, does it still count as non-existent if, were it somewhere else, it would interact?

Kinda' a lead on, but thinking on it later...

What would an exalted Cthulhu's stats be like?

Also vaguely curious what sort of exalted he'd be, actually. Don't really know enough about the grit of the setting to be able to make a good guess at it.

Flying offscreen... or just never showing up. It's pretty easy to kill a good chunk of a level offscreen if you're pumping out enough firepower (lightbringer <3), especially the stuff off to the bottom, and the coins they would have dropped just never show, heh.

Anyway, it's an interesting game. I kinda' liked that I eventually had to swap some stuff out for a few of those lower-tier shield breaker towers (the green ones) to keep up with shield-breaking in the later levels, as well as how important a good defense screen is... stuff like that. You can't really just brute force your way through, it seems. Think I'll play it some more tomorrow or somethin', heh.

If it's still being updated, neat. It apparently hit newsground fairly recently, so maybe it's still active... would be nice.

Mmm... has it gone fully free, yet? I've wrecked through most of it (except the last level or two), but knowing some of the better stuff is effectively cash locked... drains my willpower a bit, I guess.

Also not quite sure how you get the absolute highest difficulty. You apparently have to lose <0 units, and I can't quite figure out how you do that :P

But anyway, yeah, it's a pretty solid TD. About the only thing that's particularly innovative is the shielding stuff (and even that's just rarely used, not new to enigmata), but pretty much the whole thing is very well done and quite nice.

... laptop? I mean, I'm on a iPad right now, but I'm also sharing the bed with a CRT monitor (the computer it's plugged into is effectively dead, but I've been too lazy to move it/don't really have anywhere better to put it.). It's entirely possible to stick a keyboard and mouse setup into all of this, too.

What I'm saying, is don't let the existence of a tower dissuade you. Biggest challenge is propping up the monitor so it's stable on the bed (books, more pillows) and making sure the wires for the input stuff can reach you. A nice, heavy, hardback is perfect for something to put a mousepad or optical mouse on (I've been using a volume of the encyclopedia of philosophy for a few years now~), and the keyboard can sit in the lap/on the belly.

Frumple has added two pillows, a body pillow, and a beanbag (the latter two are now propping up m'feet.) to the bedding-nest. Once more, ludicrously comfortable for being on a spring mattress twin.

Is... is that some kind of euphamism for something? My mind's trying to connect dots and coming to at least one horrible conclusion, so...

What exactly is a wheel of freedom and, does it have anything to do with the digestive process?

I was actually just pushing HP products again. :P Carry on.
C'mon MZ. You ruined a perfectly good opportunity. You weren't pushing HP products. You were pimping HP products. Again.

Remember. Clicking keeps the pimp hand strong.

Depends heavily on what the inventory screen is doing, and how detailed the items are. If the thing can be summed up as a sword icon with a +1 over it or a bottle with HP or MP, and that's the absolute most complicated they get, then minimal would work. Not as much information means not as much requisite screen coverage.

If you've got something more along the lines of balder's gate or ToME4 complexity, you need to give it (a lot) more room. Insofar as personal preference goes, I prefer fullscreen, so to speak, inventories... usually.

It also depends on now much the stuff in that inventory interacts with the playing field. Something like a belt slot (or the ability to designate inventory slots arbitrarily to go in a sort of "active inventory" window) can help if significant non-equipped utility items are being considered. Also hotkeys, of course. ToME 4 or Incursion is my go-to example of hotkeys done pretty damn right. Not perfect, but a lot better than a lot of games that could use them.
