Oh, it's not even that... the guys requesting the information weren't even asking for a who, just a how many. They were saying it'd violate people's privacy to state the approximate number of people they've been spying on.

This literally makes zero sense.

Oooorrrr because some of us have already seen enough to know they'll enjoy the game. Which I have.

Dang people having secret access to the game.
No more access than you, m'fellow. Screenshots, video, all public, most brought up in this thread.

How come when "I" say that I "won't" like a game long in advance I get shot down... but when you do it for a game you like everyone is going to be on your side? ohhh yes... Hype.
More because a negative position elicits a negative reaction... that, and you're implying that the folks that are excited are incapable of video game risk assessment despite many of us having many years of experience with that ;)

I guess if you equate excitement to hype, you're right. People are excited, anticipatory, because previous experience has shown that the kind of signs that SB's putting out, well, has a high chance of paying out beautifully, or at least sufficiently so, and we're willing to downplay your warnings because of that.

Every one of us happy people are 110% aware that it could turn out badly, though. But... what more are you asking for than that? We can be and are aware of the risk and still capable of being giddy about what's coming out. Is that so bad?

Though again... if you'd rather be particularly wary about things, that's cool. I, at least, am not so much shooting you down as respectfully disagreeing and clarifying the why of that. I dig your position, especially with the little bite from Terraria and how modern video game advertising and pre-release information dissemination has a nasty tendency to play out. So carry on Neo, carry on. Just expect us to carry on, too ;D

Oooorrrr because some of us have already seen enough to know they'll enjoy the game. Which I have. Just like with Terraria. Everything beyond that is just cake, and I can enjoy that cake if I feel like it, thank you.

You're welcome not to! Don't think I'd say you couldn't. That's your perogative and that's a-okay.

But me, I really like this sort of game -- again, going strictly by what's already been shown -- and the style is rare enough nowadays I can ogle what comes out without having to be particularly picky about it. It's not pissing myself over hype, it's ogling the pretty pictures. If you know of something prettier to ogle, throw it up brethren, don't hold out on us. Right now starbound's the best game of this sort on the block that I know of. Only thing remotely close to it that I've been eying is Twisted Tower, and it sounds like it'll be released long after SB (and possibly free, hard to tell).

It used to be people discussing a game that they barely knew anything about, wondering whether this and that would be in the game and looking at the images the developer uploads (and was put on here by yours truly and a few others).
And we'll get back to this the next time there's something else to squee over, thankyouverymuch. Least that's my intended (pre)game plan.

Check out a few let's plays... there's a couple of varying degrees of completeness in our own LP forum, as well as some on YouTube and suchlike. Gives a fairly decent idea of how it plays out.

Just give a way to organize or cull your spell access method (whatever that may be). Then you can splatter spells about like an eldritch bukkakefest and the major problem with that is solved.

But yeah, I like my niche, one off, world-building bits of magic and other special abilities. Don't really give a shit if they're mostly (or even completely!) useless. It's just nice to have, fleshes things out. Generally bloat from a gameplay perspective but, y'know what? I like me some g'damn bloat, especially if it's shiny and/or interesting.

I honestly think that we should just carpet bomb all countries that end with -istan and get it over with.
Just give me a warning so I can get to somewhere less redneck before we immolate bumfuckistan.

E: Actually, thinking on it, just go ahead. I'll take one for the team.

I'm not entirely sure Jack wouldn't repeatedly kick batman's ass, actually, even without killing. Jack's got a fucking spirit-powered ion cannon in his sword or some such, iirc, plus ridiculous amount of experience kicking around gadget-based bounty hunters. Jack's also pretty plainly superhuman to a degree a couple of steps beyond bman ("Jump good", for starters). In most scenarios I could think of, Jack would have an absolutely major advantage without many notable weaknesses. Dude's kinda' a beast.

Bman might be able to poison Jack's tea, though! Except I'm pretty sure Aku's goons tried that :-\

Re: Aang versus superman... technically, Supes could just go kinetic kill vehicle on the glowy midget from out near mars or somethin'. Not sure what the avatar state could do against a swarm of hunks of metal traveling a significant fraction of c being launched from a couple of AU away. Mind you, the planet itself probably wouldn't come out too well in that exchange either, but meh. Barring that, Supes has that whole "nearly as fast as flash" thing, which would probably be enough in itself.

Maybe check out vapors of insanity! Interface is ahahahaha but there's some neat stuff in there, possibly involving souls (though I'm not actually sure because if you can do it I could never figure out how to talk the UI into letting me. Wheeee.).

Several roguelikes let you loot what the enemy was carrying, actually, to varying degrees. Incursion's nice about that, ferex.

Why would that matter? Bot probably just reads the page code and nabs whatever it is they're after. Obfuscation like that just slows down humans, not machines :P

25481
Nah, but I could hunt 'em up fairly easily next time I'm on an actual computer. There's a bucketload of them. I vaguely remember at least a dozen or so (and a few other turn-based strategies of a similar vein -- SD gundam X is a good example, albeit with a radically different combat system :P) just on the SNES. Then you've got stuff like Battle Moon Wars.

E: Check out the SD Gundam Generation stuff.
E2: I think this was the SD gundam SRW knockoff I was remembering. Barring that, there's a few explicit dragon quest knockoff games featuring SD Gundam on the SNES.

As much as we like to delude ourselves with our facial hair, we get more handsome complements without it.

Moreso from dudes, but that's the risk you gotta take.
Mine gets me confused with Mennonites and orthodox jews :-\

S'like... no, no religious affiliation, I just don't like bothering to shave if I don't have an active reason to. Costs less, less effort. The walking sticks I've picked up off the ground over the years apparently doesn't help, for some reason. Guess natural walking sticks are a sign of traditionalist religious folks? I'unno. I like my walking sticks kinda' spiky.

The head hair still draws complements once in a blue moon, huzzah.

Personal suggestion, try sticking to just water. Maybe some sort of fruit juice. Gatoraid does me no favors when my stomach's deciding to not cooperate. If nothing else, it tends to have a lot of sugar in it, which can cause problems depending on what's going on. OTOH, I've had pretty good luck with apple juice while food poisoned and unable to keep anything down, so it might be something besides the sugar.

As for eating, BRAT does alright... try varying up the recipe on the rice and toast if the sameness is annoying. Might also try different kinds of rice -- I have a bit better luck with somewhat dryer than normal brown when I'm ill, ferex.

Alternately, try similar foods (other grains, other fruits) and see what you can keep down. Me, I tend to fall back on very simple diet (mostly grain and not much else) when food's not playing nice... stuff that's not too fancy and that I eat regularly anyway. Maybe cut back on seasonings until you find the sweet spot. I find that habitual foods (staple stuff I eat at a majority of meals) tend to be more likely to stay down than ones I'm not very used to eating, basically.

Huh, I'll be. Not a single super robot wars game has an SD Gundam series in it, as far as I can tell. That's kinda bizzare, super robot wars loves gundam. And the robots are already in kinda SD style (which is to say kinda squashed together). Very odd. Maybe in the future.
There are a few SRW style SD Gundam games, though. They're just, uh. All in japanese. And not SRW games, just turn based strategy blatantly ripping off the SRW style :-\

Or at least there's one on the SNES. Tried playing it. Was very interesting, but had no idea what blazes was doing and couldn't really get very far. Not actually sure if it was based off that SD Gundam show that popped up a while back in english, though.

Potato chip's more or less just a flat french fry, maybe with some extra flavoring. Follows well enough that somethin' that'll eat one'll eat th'other, ayuh :P
