General Discussion / Re: So it seems we can cure AIDS now :)

... uh. Last time I checked stem cell research hasn't involved many people unwillingly giving up their lives, much less millions of them. Explain?

Air pressure shifts. Damaged bitsies tend to be a bit more sensitive. Lots of people have that trick to one extent or another -- arthritis flares, etc., etc.

General Discussion / Re: Is America being "conservative" good?
« on: June 10, 2012, 12:01:59 am »
Eh. Define "good" and/or define "best for the USA" and maybe some interesting discussion could be had.

Anyway. Being like Europe wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, nor necessarily a good thing. Several countries over there do things better than the states are currently managing. We should shamelessly steal their effective methodologies and implement them for our own improvement. Some of them don't do things as well. We should not adopt those practices.

Is simple thing, but first you have to figure out what you're actually trying to do. Which practices to adopt and not adopt vary depending on your "good."

'Course, state of politics being what they are, us not!disgustingly rich people's opinions probably don't really matter that much. Still, might be fun talking. It'll die quickly or be locked. I give 2:1 odds of moderation resulting from extended argument. Takers?

CN being retarded again[.]
If the commercials were anything to judge by, anyway. Unless you count that monstrosity as animation.

Transparent is totally my favorite color now. I mean, it was before, but now it is even more.

Guess that means I'll have to do something with cloaking. Anti-tank cloaking, maybe?

They sorta' might be in higher level play, I'unno. You get a full respec when you choose your subclass, so if you feel like experimenting up till then, feel free. Dunno if/how respecs come in later on.

25567
You can skip that'un if you feel like, heh. M'witch certainly did, but I've been pretty spotty as far as quests go. Running through the early stuff on master/king outpaces the quests pretty fast if you're not grabbing like every one of that area's quests in one go (which my slayer and priest have been trying to do, but eh.), and if you are you outpace the XP/difficulty even faster :P

Sorry about ditching like I did, though. Back on for a bit, but no clue how long. Wrecking my priest through some Flores stuff, yeah, but at this pace it won't take too terribly long :-\

They'll be handed out by Tuesday. Now which Tuesday, I couldn't say.

Those drill swing things in the lower left actually look kinda' terrifying. I could see those weaponized or somethin'.

... doesn't some (most?) mouthwash have a bit of alcohol in it? Gargling poison sounds like something many people do, not just real men :P

Haven't done that, but have seen the other way around done occasionally. Biscuits make an excellent addition to chicken an' dumplings.

Do throw up a recipe if yeh get it figured Baug, if only so we can see this bread loaf within bread loaf wazzit. That sounds like it has tremendous possibilities (Banana within cinnamon within more within more within cake. need bigger oven!).

I didn't get why half the questions were about safety though. Is the test designed for Somalians or something?
Security vs risk-taking is a core aspect of one's personality. Right above food/water/sex, it's just about the most basic instinct we have.
In other words, a distillation of what you were probably thinking of. Rather than "Will this cause me harm (via being shot, stabbing, falling, etc.)?" it is "Will this cause me harm (on an emotional/physical/mental level)?". Like choosing to not befriend someone because of the potential for being hurt that comes with a relationship.
... it can be either. I'm in a first world country (USA), but the area I'm in has me regularly considering the possibility of physical harm resulting from the consequence of social interaction, and a fair amount of my public persona reflects that. There's areas like that in most of the major developed countries, depending on certain things (e.g. Not a bigot and not religious in an area people have demonstrated they like assaulting such people.). My responses for a lot of those questions would be radicially different if they were separated into physical and non-physical types of harm, yeah.

Hey, test thingy. It tells me it's not very good at identifying my particular screw ups, which is neat. Below average in everything except schizotypal (up six), borderline (one), and dependent (four). Close to average in antisocial (down four) and avoidant (two).

Some of the questions seemed contradictory or strangely connected, though. If, say, concern about happiness and safety were seperated, my response would have been considerably different. Stuff like that, hum.

Ditto. AU reimaginings of that style interest me, which was why I liked Sengoku Rance :P The naughty bits were frankly boring, but the game qua game had a vitality stuff like Romance of the Three Kingdoms lacks for me.

Basically give me awesome medieval armies and stuff, just with steampunk and dragons and whatever. Swords and sorcery (or plasma shotguns, or steam-mecha, or all of the above) is better than just swords, t'my preference. Pokemon are sufficient!

Yeah. I don't think it's as good as it used to be, or something, but with DDs every little bit helps, and a very heavy armor user with shearing'd get some decent use out of it, I think. I think hand of trog works on 'em too, so that's another option if you can stand Trog.
