Sounds like kegals for men, which both is a thing and supposedly fairly healthy for you. More than that or any particular actual medical research behind it I have no idea, but I've heard it in passing a few times.

Go into options and activate... inventory cursor, or something like that. Don't have a computer that can run Incursion at the mo', so I can't check the exact words. It'll make it so you don't have to type in numbers to get stuff out of containers.

I'd also suggest that you set to the auto pickup to "inventory" and the sort filter wuzzit to quality; the first makes item pickup a lot safer (just put healing/dim door/possibly mana potions in your belt), the second makes seeing what's good to pickup a lot easier, though shields will consistently be misplaced (there's some wonkiness with their enchantment levels and pseudo-ID).

Otherwise, it's mostly just a matter of juggling :P It's actually fairly intuitive once you get accustomed to it, if not a little inefficient.

Anything specific that was giving you trouble?

Kadabra would probably be the sane choice.

Go with Wigglytuff.

Each and every time I get that second level of alienist in Incursion. The feeling that comes when a fully buffed animal companion night hunter (read: giant bat) kicks the ever-loving out of an adult dragon. That time I beat a crab demon to death with my bare hands while climbing on the ceiling as a priest/barb. Any orc that gens with disease immunity -- eat them up yum yum. High luck halfling warrior slingers critting everything to death. A dual-wield spiked chain build once it gets off the ground.

The rolling series of nerfs I helped inflict on Temporal Wardens in T4 -- it started when I got less than 0% movespeed and broke the game. Same character had >800 combined stats (For comparison, the highest you can get without kit or talents effecting anything is ~360.). It was great <3

Killing morgoth from around the corner in Furyband. Phase storm love.

The time I got one-shot four or so steps into the only corridor of the first dungeon I entered in ADOM by an acid trap.

The time I got instakilled in crawl after opening the only door leading away from the entrance. Exploding darts will forever be crawldev's primary means of trolling the occasional starting caster.

Getting ahold of a blaster bomb in X@COM. Nothing more needs be said.

The list rolls on.

also, someone I know believes that if a game is free, it must be shit. hence why they refuse to touch most games that I play.
There's a fairly strong population that believes free==crap, usually rolling off something about selling price denoting the value the creator places on it or something like that.

I just laugh and laugh and laugh. Then go back to using notepad++ or whatever.

Sometimes commercial does produce the better product, I'll give that. Usually, FOSS has produced something sufficiently capable you don't get much value added by shelling out cash. And FOSS'll win out on all fronts, eventually. *bides time*

... most Americans, anyway. If someone doesn't specifically denote format, I generally write the date in dd/mm/yyyy. Partially because the habit stuck after a few years of French, partially because it confuses people a little. Haven't had any problems because of the habit... most business/government stuff I've ran into recognizes European format after a few seconds of looking at it funny :P

At least when I don't bust out the full Xth day of the Yth month, in the whateverth year of our lord spiel. Sometimes anno domini, it varies.

Actually, the absolute best example I've seen of that comes from spiderweb software, the guy that did Avernum, Geneforge, etc. Fellow basically built an engine and then largely used it (with minor tweaks/upgrades) for several games.

They're pretty good, and it's a workable strategy for game development. It's not done nearly as effectively in general, though.

Nah, that's primarily why I've not been arguing voraciously with 'im over the years. He's basically in the same position (though a fair bit better educated -- some college schooling but no degree) as you mentioned (and it doesn't help that his father was about a quarter-step away from a slave owner :-\), but... ehn. There's just certain stuff I have trouble stomaching.

The specific content was talking about a Caucasian lady who'd had some trouble in her past, when th'papa mention she'd "took up with a <obvious slur>" and his sister in law mentioning that the lady had "got what she deserved" (followed by laughter of all fucking things by the people conversing) which... kinda' infuriated me. One of those "If I wasn't so damn familiar with shutting down an anger response, there would have been issues" kinda' things. Was in other room, though, so I just slapped my earmuff things back on my head and stayed out of it, but... yeah. Yeah. This is from the same people that were discussing their church involvement shortly after. The sheer cognitive dissonance involved just...

Tweaks too many buttons, and I tend to react to infuriating things I can't do anything about with avoidance.

It's the continuing minor chime, but FF's influence towards popularizing the JRPG stuff was stronger in the states than the place from whence it came. Dragon Quest was the major starting point for that style of game, yeah, and it had/has a much stronger following in Japan. If you're looking for the start and spread of the popular JRPG, you're looking for Dragon Quest. FF both came later and didn't have as much influence until much later in the general history (such as it is) of RPGs.

The discrepancy is partially because a lot of the DQ games just never really made it over here to the states. Blazes if I know why, but eh. Fair number of major influences to the JRPG world (even the stuff we got over here in the states) were either never localized or localized much, much later than their initial release.

Found out m'grandfather's still a bit more racist than I thought. Dammit, old people, why you say this shit? Doesn't help that it's outright heresy coming from a ostensibly (and otherwise, to a fair degree) Christian person.

Just another incentive to get the flying hell away from this town and my family and never see either again, I guess. Which is depressing. I'd rather have a degree of fondness of my blood but they don't make it easy.

General question, because the few times I've played LoL didn't have much in the way of communication, but... isn't there a mute/ignore feature? Stuff like what you just spouted, Dark, would have me using the hell out of that. Just a short message to the rest of the team that I've muted person X and please relay anything tactically important.

I've always found mute to be one of the most useful communication features in a multiplayer game :-\

FF1 came out the same year as dragon quest's first sequel, which has it lagging a bit :P

RPGs in general go back even further -- you've got Rogue back in the seventies and a few things before even that, and plenty of other stuff in between that and stuff like DQ hitting consoles. DQ was the first major JRPG, though, yeah, and it pretty strongly defined the genre for quite some time.
