Interlibrary loan would probably be your best of best friends, there. Might cost a buck or two to get it shipped to your library, but someone's donated a copy or two, somewhere, and at least with that the money (probably) goes to a good cause. Well, good cause beyond personal entertainment, curiosity, and probably mocking.

There is a terrible suspicion in my heart that may explain what happened in your case, PD :P

Because Internet. Or because people, depending on how you look at it. Blame God (and/or fundamental particles, whatever.).

Incidentally, I just noticed the scalpel hair clip things. That's... actually kind of brilliant, in a really twisted way. Someone should totally sell those to doctors.

Well, my recently dead computer has an XL 27 heavy-armor d.trident/shield minotaur of Ash on it, which was where I was coming from with that. Casting wasn't an option :P

As for jewelry swap off, you just leave one uncursed. Same for any other slot you need to swap stuff in and out of regularly. Full binding is very nice, but even partial binding is incredibly helpful. Ash is just a really nice god if you can manage dakka through other means (I.e. being a minotaur, heh.).

I... really wouldn't, in either case. The come in with gun drawn thing. Not unless there was very strong evidence outside that it'd be needed. Someone -- anyone -- coming in armed to an unknown situation is a way too damn good way for someone innocent to end up in the news and in the morgue.

Assess the situation, draw weapon as appropriate. Don't go in weapon drawn without sufficient reason. 911 call itself is not sufficient, seriously. Only on the ground assessment. There's no assurance the call is legit to begin with or, as in this case, the information accurate.

If going ashenzari non-UC melee, go axe or sword. Seriously.

That is all.

Cooked breakfast rice today. Got taught new trick for adding eggs to rice. Is best trick I've yet seen.

Basically, cook rice until almost done. Then put eggs in bowl (equivalent) and stir up eggs like making omelet. Next, pour egg stuff into rice and stir well. Lastly, cover and let rice cook another 3-4 minutes. Is done. Eggs and rice. Is good, simple. Lazycook like.

The LP is awesome, but in a way quite counter to the general theme and spirit of the game.

Careful with that. War dogs have sense invisibility.

From what I've heard, it's definitely an AoS style game, of which DotA-types fall under. AoS doesn't really dictate movement/attack method or perspective -- there were arrow-key controlled and first person AoS maps back during WC3 days. The big defining factor is the "heroes among armies" thing, a clash between opposing (mostly computer controlled, at least for the fodder mooks) armies with the major deciding factor being the efforts of extraordinary individuals and leaders influencing the flow of battle.

Honestly, you could have a ASCII turn-based AoS without any problem, as an example. What makes an AoS an AoS isn't form, exactly, it's formula. First person direct control is fine, too.

Yeaaaah. Made it to chapter eight of a ten chapter 100ker before it finally pissed me off enough to close the damn thing. Hate wincing every other sentence, and how the hell did this bugger go over 70k words without fixing that damn problem, anyway? Argh.

Yeah... I'm actually reading something otherwise half decent (so far) that buggers up the your/you're distinction... pretty much every damn time it comes up. It's somewhat distracting. Does it with their/they're, too.
