Cannot help but ask, is th'devil's wife a violinist or a fiddler? Also, are those critters in the back the band or just random shmucks?

It's pretty much the best distraction/arrow catcher spell in the game. Can be tremendously useful in a lot of situations, and the cost can't be beat. Give the thread a search for summon butterflies if you want some more in depth answers.

Probably really want blink, too, if you can find it. That plus innate ctele (at least until something happens to that) is incredibly nice. Repel/deflect missiles, levitation, summon butterflies, also high on the utility target list. Flight, eventually if you weren't a draconian.

Depends on what's in the shop. If you can buy some utility stuff now, though, I'd say do it. Better to have and not need than need and not have. Just swiftness would massively increase the number of situations you could easily deal with, to say nothing of other nice stuff.

Sif may pretty much guarantee you most of what you'd need, but she doesn't guarantee you it when you need it. I wouldn't be gambling on essential spells, if the shop has them to offer.

Ignite poison is fire/tmut, so you can start investing into transmutation via that. It's not a terrible spell for the lair branches, anyway, and pretty neat in conjunction with meph cloud.

You've got plenty spell levels available, so you can go ahead and grab fireball and it's delayed variation, you've got the books for it. Nab mystic blast while you're doing that, then forget magic dart (once you've got m.blast hungerless, anyway) and fire brand.

As for box of beasts and lamp of fire, ehn. Chance of 'em turning hostile, though probably smaller with the lamp, in your case.

Go explore some dungeon if you can't run past the hydra, probably. Maybe most of orc. You could stand some utility spells and probably mystic blast (at least until bolt is hungerless, I guess.). You can safely ditch fire brand if you need some spell levels (why do you even have fire brand, anyway?).

If you can get some range on the hydra, though, you should be able to just fire bolt it down.

Also, you're, uh, not even remotely heading for dragon form? You're a draconian; dform is pure transmutation for them, not transmutation/fire. You have zero tmut :-\

... if you were afraid of that sort of thing, I somehow doubt you'd be on the bottom bunk of a bunk bed :P

We'd actually need a few thousand of those people... which might be doable, I'unno.

Biggest problem with the whole philosopher king approach is that it only works really well (Even in theory, though there's occasional examples) with city states or really small countries, that sort of thing. Stuff a single, highly motivated individual can actually manage. Larger population needs a larger leader-corps type thing to run at approaching-peak efficiency, and every candidate beyond the one makes the problem of selecting and avoiding corruption that much harder.

Theoretically there's a stable ratio of potential PK (and isn't that a hilarious acronym for philosopher king?) to non-PK population that'd enable us (in the collective species sense) to establish and maintain a stable PK led and managed society, but... no one's pulled it off, yet. Oh well.

I'm personally hoping for eventual hyper-AI led society, m'self... but first we actually have to figure out what the hell to program into the bloody thing. But hey, we've been working on the whole ethics thing for a few thousand years, now. Bound to get it down eventually.

I nominate Mega Man. I wonder what he tastes like!
*Mega Man murders Icecream Man* *Mega Man gains Icecream moneyshot Dispenser* *Mega Man dispenses icecream everywhere.*

Mega Man tastes like vanilla icecream. Robots are inherently superior to men, in every way. Even the ways that make no sense for machines which don't reproduce sexually.

Though maybe Light got bored or something, who knows?

Some scars can be kinda' sexy. Them scarification tats and junk, among other things.

Depends on the placement, shape, type, etc., etc., etc. Also possibly if you've got them yourself, I guess. Having been laid open for the better part of six months probably's left me desensitized to that, I suppose~

Ehh... for stuff like ogres, you don't need to invest anything. Sprig or centaur (E: Or cat, or anyone with swiftness... well, you get the idea.) can kite an ogre to death with stones and 0 throwing; spiderform lets you do pretty much the same thing. Enchanting needles, darts, javs, whatever, just makes it a bit quicker. Same goes for launcher junk. Don't need skill investment, just sufficient ammo and kite room.

26112
Spiderform murder'd probably work in most situations, but if they get you near/under half health, ditch. You'll usually be able to just straight up melee 'em, though.

That said, what you might be able to do with the enchant scrolls is keep 'em around for enchanting blowpipes/needles or javelins -- spiderform puts you in a pretty good position for poison kiting vs. crap like ogres, or just plain throw-kiting. Or any ranged, really. It probably wouldn't exactly hurt, anyway, and it's arguably better than just tossin' them.

William Tell overture started playing on way back from post office.

Fairly cheerful now.

26114
Babylon seems to be the obvious choice, right? More murder more better?

Ahahahaha, evil carrots look awesome. I wish to join as an evil carrot named Hammer Time. Or just Hammer if that's too long. Confinement object is irrelevant.
