That's... welp. That's pretty infuriating. Again. Damnitall.

Yeah... actually took a typing test... last week? I think. 74 raw, 72 adjusted, i.e. two mistakes. Not the fastest I've ever typed (Have hit 90s in the past, but eh.) but accuracy helps~

Gods alive but it felt slow though, yeah.

I'm gonna do absolutely nothing and sleep in!
*brofist*

Even though I'm currently not in school, i.e. don't have spring break. The sentiment, it counts.

I've read the decently lengthy TwHE/Evangelion crossover fanfic >_>

Still haven't seen any of the anime or read through all the manga though :-\

Tankcat is great, though. Tank cat is great.

No... no damnit, you cook the roof rabbit before making a sandwich out of it. What are they teaching people nowadays when they can't even make a proper roof rabbit sandwich?

Also, that's not how you do sandwiches. I guess they could have been going for some vile corruption of french toast, though.

EDIT: Did you know, that when you mix A&W rootbeer and apple juice, it tastes *sip* like cough syrup? Gah!

agnostic just means no affiliation not unbelieving, I don't identify with a church but I believe in god
Snipe post to get this out of the way; that's not  representative of most agnostic beliefs. The closest you've got there is agnostic theism. Agnosticism is only tangentially related to church affiliation (There's plenty of non-religious or non-spiritual reasons to attend church, natch); it's primarily a position on the nature of truth or knowledge. It means without knowledge. Knowledge =/= belief, etc., so forth, so on.

So the second bit, not unbelieving, is accurate, but the first isn't. Be careful with that, heh.

Ehn, you can probably safely ignore color re: god choice. About the only one that'd make much of a difference would be ending up purple if you were going Sif, from what I'm reading of the apts. Well, and obviously the green/TSO thing. I forget if that conflict's been tweaked any.

Crazy generous person crazy generous :P It's a good thing.

Look forward to the day I'll have the free income to do stuff like this, though. Anyway, yeah, going for the 10 indies; spreads the love more, it does, and more love is mo' bettah.

... health insurance nowadays is pretty much essential; yeah, you're a lucky SoB Knight, but luck is literally the only thing standing between you and bankruptcy or years and years of medical debt. Unless you've got a good 20k+ USD sitting in the bank, just in case.

And the people that don't have health insurance and something fraks up and they end up in the emergency room without the ability to pay for it? Guess who pays for that~

Health insurance really is kinda' like car insurance, because what happens when a person gets sick and can't pay is that either the medical provider sucks it up (which reduces quality, a net penalty for the community relying on that provider) or the taxpayers get saddled with the cost, either directly or indirectly.

Now, you could be advocating that we just let sick people who can't pay just, yanno', die off or be permanently crippled or whatev' but medical practitioners are supposed to swear that little oath (that we really want them swearing) that says they have to help those that come to them. Like you said, cost goes somewhere, so we might as well have folks paying ahead for a cost they're almost certainly going to accrue at some point.

RIP, Earl Scruggs.
:(

That's a fellow who will forever be in my music playlist.

... on the other side, I didn't even know he was alive. Doubleshocker. If I'd bothered to find out, probably would have sent that man a letter of thanks or something.

Vehe'd actually be better if you were going for a wider range of effects, since he helps out with summoning and conjuration stuff (I.e. don't have to dip as much into those two to get combat-functional casting levels, so more XP for transmutations and unarmed combat/dodge/stealth), yeah, and offers up specific books (and sooner). Sif gives a higher likelihood of upperlevel transmute spells, but meanders about getting there and takes a while anyway; plus she doesn't help you cast, just not blow up when you screw up. Channeling can help every caster, though~ Kiku probably wouldn't hurt either, really; vampiric drain would probably help tons and the rest of it's not terrible.

Transmuter book starts you off with what you need to be a brutal UC character (Ice/spider form, blade hands), so most transmuters go melee-primary, at least from what I understand. About the only god that wouldn't help, though, would be Trog and Xom (for obvious reasons :P).

Anyway, I popped up a DrTr for a quick run and got to D:5 clvl 6 in like a half-hour, so it definitely seems pretty viable early game. Just appendage junk and melee everything to death until you get spider form... and then do it some more, just faster and poison-y :P I'm probably going to go Ash because I keep thinking Ash is awesome despite never actually getting anywhere with an Ashenzari character (mostly because I've never really tried, ha.).

E: Make that clvl 8, D:7 just cleared. Seriously need to do some use IDing on the scrolls and potions but g'damn, things going entirely too well.

Draconians also get a dragon form synergy if Gryph makes it that far.

Anywaaay. Spiderform, win game through 'till lair. Basically. Then otherstuff. Not sure what a decent god is, though. I'd probably go with Sif for book access or maybe Ashenzari because shapeshift but eh.

And the infinite "Why the hell are we paying these people to not do what we're paying them to do?" question raises its ugly head.

I mean... shit, yeah, 2.7k pages of legalese is a bit of a bitch. It'd probably take a couple weeks of actual 9-5 to go through and analyze appropriately, though I'm almost certainly leaning towards overestimate there -- people ostensibly trained for legal work should probably be able to go through that a lot faster. But... yeah. That's what they're getting paid to do, in both power and money. Own up politibastards! Do your job!

Gods fuck, seriously, something like that coming out of the mouth of one of our preeminent social figures is just freaking infuriating. That's the shit that comes spewing forth from spineless undergrads that aren't going to pass the final, not people that's supposed to be running this country.

26205
I think you mixed up "philosopher" with "asshole" >:(

On the other hand, I can pretty easily see that as the sort of perspective that folks with little to no understanding of philosophy would take... but yeah. The ratio of swimmers to non-swimmers vis-a-vis philosophy students I've met is higher than non-philosophy students. Tearing apart everything you personally believe in to look at its systemic insides as a job description tends to make folks fond of relaxing practices :P Then existentialism and all its related kin: The answer to existential angst is either beer or chill-th'-fook-out (or suicide, which comes if they don't choose one of the two. Ehn.). Asshole philosophers tend to either get ignored or come from other disciplines first, in my experience.

Also, unfortunately, you don't get to murder people because they're assholes. Fisherman swims to shore, gets thrown in jail for 20-life. Joke's on him~ Philosophy gets the last laugh; eat social contract, ohohoho.

Anyway, re: Math; I'd have had a lot more luck learning if people would have actually taught it as what it is, namely a language. Major problem being that fluency in mathematics is something that most ground level math teachers frankly lack -- when people say "What is the point of this?" they're basically asking "Translate this into <Spoken Language> for me." A person with a very limited understanding of the language can't really do anything but throw their hands in the air, unfortunately.

Now, there's problems justifying a second language to people who don't plan on speaking it, but that's a different issue; the whole 'shutting off half of world' thing applies as your justification there. Pretty much everyone (in places with compulsory education, anyway) is at least limitedly conversant in math.
