Other Games / Re: Dungeons of Dredmor - Lutefisk for the Lutefisk God

Is it wrong that this game seems to get the most play out of everything I bought over the Winter sale? Everything else is "Ugh...I don't have two hours to spend on an EU3 game" or "The kids are around, I don't want to be playing STALKER/Left4Dead in front of them".

"Oh hey, I'll just play 15-20 minutes on Dredmor."

Two hours later..... :-\
Welcome to roguelikes, ahahahahaha!

DLC's alright. I'd recommend, I guess. Like said, is dirt cheap.

Um, no? It's not. New bill, different bill.

Frakking horrific bill and that Lamar bastid needs to be kept from naming or having g'damn anything to do with any bills, ever again.

One of those other bits I picked up elsewhere: This, the "Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers Act of 2011." Here's the "fun" part, from what I can see:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Illusion of privacy? Shit, you don't even get that anymore. Excellent example of trying to slip something frakking horrible through the cracks? Yup!

An aside, but total honesty: Whoever allowed something -- anything -- to be titled like that needs to be flogged, fired, and then kept at least 100 yards from, and completely incommunicado with, any decision making process for the rest of their lives.
Brought it up in the other thread, bleh. This particular monstrosity has been trying to go through since at least SOPA/PIPA happened. Pretty sure it was timed that way, to let the latter hide it from public attention.

First the world exported its criminals here, so we got our revenge by exporting our lunatics to the world! MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Hey, don't go tempting us over here in the states. Can you even imagine what it would be like if we started exporting our lunatics? At least at the moment we only really go and invade for a while, maybe cause a few thousand deaths here and there and maybe hijack your legal systems a bit. Think about what would happen if the crazier half (or 3/4ths, or... maybe it's worse, I'unno) or so of our political spectrum started settling down and not going away eventually.

... incidentally, can I interest your country in the more mentally unhinged of our conservatives politically active? Honestly, I don't think most of us want them here, we just haven't figured out how to get them to go away yet.

Ah, you're up/down here in Bumfuckistan, too, Nadaka? Suffering brethren!

All I know is I'm happy this is over for us, for a little while anyway. It wasn't too bad, but th'house I'm in did probably get a dozen or so, probably more, autocalls. Which was kind of ridiculous, as no one in the house is registered Republican. I can only imagine it was worse in places with an actual population.

Unless HWG orgy. Then, possibly, too much HWG.

Protip: Someone, somewhere, has drawn this.

Indeed. Why leave the island at all when you can start up a fisticuff harvested sharkfin export industry? Tourist attraction, export business, food supply, and national sport, all in one.

Casualties will keep the population at acceptable levels.

Th'FFTA games are alright, so long as you completely ignore the story. Especially if you've played FFT. There's no timing involved, though, at least in the first two.

... or was there only two? Blazes if I can remember right now. Anyway, yeah, they're alright if you fastforward through the dialogue.

Run home to MoMmy. Which is to say speedier with neat new mod thing.

Ehn, just keep a vest or somethin' in the back seat or under the seat or whatever. Something that floats without needing to be inflated, heh. I'd probably do that m'self if the rivers around here weren't so damn low you can walk across some of them :-\

Would I be a terrible person if I laughed at that mental image?
Yup. S'gallows humor, heh.

What say you, B12?
I say transition into languages uncommonly spoken in your area if you're going to swear related to the latter bit. It's what I (poorly, because I don't actually know how to pronounce it) do :P

Random gibberish works pretty well too, actually. It's more about intonation than meaning in that case, though.

Slipping into turns of phrase that's not that bad in your local dialect but considerably more vulgar in others works nicely, too. Some of the softer British stuff (Bloody, bugger, etc) works very well if you're in th'USA, heh.
