Apparently I can't host on Frozen Throne.  IT's that or just no one ever joins any of my games at all.

Fair warning, that may be what's actually happening. See if you can't get someone you can communicate with to try to join :P

I think the preference is through Bnet, I was just wanting to see if I could through gameranger (so if I can't, I could go about getting hamachi or whatever to function), because my cd key is buried under junk in another house (and may have been thrown away at some point.).

Yeah, morale's been stated to be an intended feature several times already :P

Comes up every few pages, heh.

Let me start by directly proposing an alternative: the school refers them to a GLBT counselor and or support network, which does this sort of thing all the time and has expertise in it.
Fair question, any suggestions for areas that don't have something like that? If there's something of that nature within a good 40-50 miles of where I'm at, ferex, it's bloody well hidden*.

*Which is probably a good idea re: physical safety, honestly.

S'another one of the cases that pings me oddly, I think. There's days that I wish sexual orientation, hetero or not, just wasn't on the map. It doesn't seem to actually have any impact (in and of itself; other peoples reactions, on the other hand...) whatsoever on most social interactions (especially meaningful ones, like say, work.). There's nothing categorically different between most (not intrinsically harmful) sexual preferences re: moral code, work ethic, affability, etc. Only thing it seems to dictate is what you fuck, to put it bluntly, which doesn't come up in day-to-day public situations very often (Even less often without violating public decency laws.).

Sometimes I just wish people would get their bloody nosy selves out of everyone else's bedrooms, and keep their own doors closed (figuratively, of course. They want want a house-wide doorless orgy, that's fine, so long as it's not a matter of public issue.).

Quick E: Just to make it absolutely bloody clear, I'm not saying something asinine like "gays should stay hidden." Just that, yanno', maybe what we (regardless of sexual preference) screw is under a bit too much social scrutiny.

Don't suppose I can get someone into gameranger to test and see if I can host for folks, eh? Can't do Bnet at th'mo, actual CD Key buried somewhere :-\

E: M'on the thing as Frumple, yeah.

In an attempt to move the conversation somewhere a bit less volatile on the same subject, I'd like to offer the DSM V's proposed diagnosis criteria.  What do y'all think?  I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about it.
S'kinda' weird lookin', to me, especially how C factors in. What about when the "symptoms" are picked up later in life but don't really fit that 'manifest' thing?

I had learned pretty much all of A by the time I hit double-digit years, due to a sort of passively hostile environment (It was either pick up the behavior patterns or pick up broken bones... or possibly murder charges. Except the eye contact thing. That's always been around, gives me a headache via information overload.), and I trained myself up to B4 (Hypersensitivity in particular, though I guess a fairly low key example.) during the early teens (Middling meditation mixed with mild paranoia, heh. Some days I have trouble seeing how other people can be so unobservant of their surroundings.).

Mostly though, I'm curious as to what the impact would be. Howzat different, other than a bit more pleasingly formatted and (possibly, if I'm reading the orig right) a little looser in what'd qualify?

What did 3rd parties have to do with anything? I was talking the ability for me, personally, to actually have any influence worth-a-damn on the primaries. I'm poor, have long hair, and find xenophobia distasteful. (Note: Of those three, one actually matters. It's the first one.) There's no way in hell I'd be able to actually make a difference. wheeee

Protip: Candidate appeal has a minimum price tag, which would feed myself, my family, and probably half the town I live in for the rest of our natural lives.

And what if I don't like either party?[...]

... or have access to the millions in funding to actually make anything even remotely resembling a meaningful impact?

(Actually, from what I understand, the answer is either "move*" or "suck it (up)" :-\

*Assuming you can afford to, and the government lets you.

E: Some formatting stuff to make the sleepy brain stop bothering me. Also, totally have to derail joke thread with srsbiznz about US political train-wrecksystem.

Obvious answer is down. Rocketship must have giant drill. Stage one of burn will power the drill to the core of the planet. Stage two will deploy the core-capture device, consuming the planet's solid core to use for planet-pool. Stage three will explode violently, sending the core outward in the appropriate bank shot to knock the fifth planet in the system into the nearby blackhole. Several thousand years later, the core will actually reach the hole's proximity... and miss.

In other news, anyone else came to the sudden realization that there's probably better than 50/50 odds we destroy the sun at some point in Terraria's future? The sunglasses will be involved, somehow. Most likely the trigger will bring a freaking-giant shade-wearing sun boss down upon you, making the screen incredibly bright.

Once you win, everything goes dark... and the real game starts.

Bloodline Champions manages it and they have five different skills and an ultimate for each character.

Bloodlines is also not an AoS :P

It's an arena map, from what I've seen.

Old DotA, at least, (And AoS-style maps, in general. DotA2 -- and LoL, HoN, whatever -- are still not much more than WC3 custom maps :P) was larger than the average arena map, and long distance travel was a fair bit more common. There's periods where you're just walking from point A to point B, and being able to tell yer dude to just 'go there' is pretty useful, then.

How does a wasd config deal with summoned critter micromanagement, anyway?

-- Which isn't to say wasd wouldn't work. There's been AoS maps done with that, too, and even with how clunky WC3 is with manual control like that, it's pretty functional. It'd be interesting to have it toggleable!

CST (GMT: -6). Best time to play is <forewarned> :P

Currently pretty flexible, barring the occasional interruption.

IceFrog didn't create DOTA.

I remember vividly when DOTA started, and everybody thought it was just another unbalanced AoS clone.

Fixed~

Icey did take over after a while, and is attributed to some of the balance type... junk. DotA's still a freaking uninspired AoS, which my major complaint about it. Fairly polished and well balanced as th'things go, but uninspired. No vision, no ambition, no "epic." Turned an incredible clash between armies into a pissant sport. I'm still a little bitter :P

The low minion count and de-emphasis on strategy approached a good idea when dealing with WC3's technical limitations, but other AoSes managed to work around it without sacrificing hero innovation or interesting mechanics. It's honestly a damn shame DotA has the influence it does, because its legacy is basically raping the potential of AoS-type games.

E: Speaking of which, we totally need to run at least one EotA game. It's a lot more interesting than DotA, and still pretty balanced. I vague remember playing a few AoSes I'd consider "better," but EotA's definitely the easiest to find nowadays. Also the only one I actually remember the name of :P

So... dehallow, huh? You... just need the hallow gone? That's all you're asking for?

I got some nice water bottles over here that can fix that problem for you, and add wonderful purple everywhere!

EDIT: Actually, corrupting the place via unholy water and then going over with purification powder might be the fastest way to clean it up. Just a thought.

...He is not my favourite a Republican candidate any more.

Pretty sure shit like that is completely unrecoverable. Fellow's lost any chance he had.
