Ah, cooee.

Also, that stuff's definitely demonite. That said, there's also something odd going on with it, though I'm not sure what. I just mined some with my copper pickaxe. My tentative guesses are either it gets harder the deeper it is (the second bit I found was within sight of the surface) or it's softer in smaller groups -- the bit the copper pickaxe could mine was a single 2x1, as opposed to a 2x2 it couldn't break. Interesting, anyway.

Dominions 3?

Iffin' yeh like Civ, you might try Masters of Magic, for all that it's a bit old. Fantasy civ, with neat stuff. Honestly, I don't really know how the newer civs play... last one I actually played was, uh... alpha centauri? That was pretty awesome.

Never played th'total war stuff, so can't say either was s'far as that goes.

Okay, so... anyone know what this stuff is?

Hey, neat. You can grow potion ingredients (daybloom, at least) in clay pots. Seem to have to smash the pot to get your bloom and seeds back, but that's fairly minor for being able to set up an alchemy farm inside (without resorting to grass).

Throwing in for another mummy, this time a wizard intending to worship sif. Name him Jill. Alternately a Naga wizard of the same name, but aiming for Nemmy, if you prefer not to repeat species. Either/or :P

Also, if you're feeling like an amusing interlude, try for a spriggan death knight in Zot Defense. Has trouble getting off the ground, sometimes, but the disabled food clock + lots of undead is kinda' fun, heh. Call that one Jack, if it comes about.

I always think Lemmingball Z when I think DBZ games, these days. Been a bloody long time since I've played it, though. Apparently it's still being developed, or something. Last time I fired it up was probably something like '07.

Iirc, no-temple is possible but rare, but I could be wrong there. You'll know if it happened if you find all the normal temple altars somewhere between levels two and nine. You're guaranteed all the standard altars (though I forget exactly which those are, heh.) somewhere in that level range.

No clue how it works in oblivion, but I know in morrowind, if you really felt like it, you could build yourself a spell that applied various defensive effects on touch or target -- i.e., your enemies, if you've got reason to do so. If oblivion's got something similar, what's stopping you from following the wisps around keeping them high on antimagic buffs?

Downloaded, almost always. My connection's not the most stable of things, some days. I did do CAO for a bit in last year's tourney. Was alright, I guess, though it took me a while to figure out how to do extended rest (shift-5 on the numpad wasn't registering in putty, for whatever ungodly reason.). Still, prefer local. No lag, among other stuff. Is fun to watch other people die, though, every once in a while.

Local tends to be a lot safer, too. You can delete the bones files :P

Pierces, but not walls. Alchemy trailer thing was pretty explicit about that. The crescent crumbles when it hits a wall. It does seem to hit fairly hard, though, and seems somewhat spammable, at least for short periods.

I wake up to a splitting headache and a pleasant surprise! First time I've won anything of this sort, hoo~

A thousand thanks and a thanks to the host, a hat tip to the fellow fortuitous ones, and a bow to the other participates. Time to clear up some hard drive space!

Bells themselves are fairly low level, though, insofar as when you can catch them. They're just somewhat rare.

I would recommend thinking really hard about catching one, though. Give one a shuriken and you'll have more or less completely dominated the game for a long while -- it'll murder just about everything, until you start running into the really silly stuff. There's also nothing stopping you from dominating bells until your party size hits max... and giving all of them shurikens and/or panties, if you don't want to bother with gene splicing.

Anyway, there's a list of guaranteed small medals laying around the 'net somewhere. Iirc, you can have a bell (or three) before you hit the puppy cave/do your first quest, if you work it right. After you've done that, the only thing you really have to worry about until end-game dungeon stuff is probably quicklings (if I remember the name right...), which are the other hyperspeed critters in Elona.

Doing a Gundam overhaul myself atm for kicks. Dunno how to edit Companies though.

Bit of a derail, but it depends on what you're trying to do, iirc, at least if you're referring to factions when you say companies. It's a lot easier to get existing factions, ferex MUGL or whathaveyou, to use new mecha (just takes a flag in th'design file), than it is to add or adjust factions, which takes more work than I remember how to do. You have to mess around with the series files, and more than any particular one, iirc. Depending on how far you're trying to take it, it could involve making adjustments to the various spinners' files, too.

S'a fair amount of effort, especially with GH's scripting language. One of th'reason's Hewitt's in the process of getting Gearhead to work with LUA. Anyway, do throw a post at th'game's forum. Boss H'll answer eventually, if someone else doesn't beat 'im to it.

On topic, I guess Cortex Command, if you're willing to mod. I 'unno if I've seen anything in game like th'OP's asking for -- most of the time, that sort of functionality comes via modding. At least th'stuff I've seen, hum.

I'll give the discussion there a "somewhat interesting..." but I kinda' wish I hadn't seen it. I know it's tentative brainstorm/discussion stuff, but when th'first substantial statement on the page is "LET'S MAKE CRAWL HARDER, HURR" (The pre-req stuff), it's kinda' painful to read. Really, folks? You need to make a game with <1% victory rate even harder?

The most sane of the discussion seems to be near the bottom (Galefury and responders, who say KISS), but even that suggestion says "hahaha make food clock shorter~." Because there wasn't enough reasons spriggans are horrifically out of balance in relation to all the other races.

It's just me, though, I guess. I enjoy crawl a bit lot more when I know absolutely nothing about the underlying mechanics and dev choices, even though it massively reduces my chances of getting anywhere in the game. Knowing just makes me increasingly infuriated :-\

Anyway, re: regen stacking. It does, though I'm not sure to what extent. Fairly sure it's diminishing returns. As for th'hunger, you'll probably be at the point you can find and cast necromutation by the time you find eight regen rings, so do it as a lich. Just checked with a wiz-made 27 oct with full 27 skills and eight rings. As lich, you gain 3-4 hp per turn~
