What you really have to fear is kobold clowns. Terrifying things happen to swarm tactics bonuses when you pack enough kobolds into a clown car equivalent.

I mean... are we sure procedure wasn't being followed? Wouldn't be the first (or the fifth, or the fiftieth, or the...) time police procedure was at odds with proper usage of something. Them doing stupid shit with tools that can lead to people getting hurt is unfortunately not an obvious sign of their procedures being ignored :-\

... his name was phil, huh. That actually rings a bell now, something about either pedophilia or apologia/running interference for it? Details fuzzy, amount I pay much attention to england's figureheads is... small.

... who? Quick google for the name popped up zero mention of a funeral in the first page of the regular or news results.

It was pushed back to like... june or something last year (so for the 2019 submission). No one told me anything about it getting extended this one, but checking it does actually look like they did. Huh.

Somebody really needs to just nationalize the bloody tax prep companies and have them just... do it. Send folks that need to file a pre-filled form, they can sign and return with the (prepaid) envelope or somethin'. Pretty sure that's more or less what several other countries do, and it's, like... much less trouble, all told.

If it makes you feel any better about your age, it's not like I didn't recognize the reference. If mart had used something else it wouldn't have made for as appropriate a segue.

Lot more places than just Houston has the problem, really. It's harder to find a precinct in the US that doesn't have a history of nasty shit than to find one that does. A lot harder. Nearly impossible, and usually when it's not public record locals are well able (if not always willing) to inform you that's just because the area's cops are better at keeping it out of the news :-\

Whole goddamn institution is rotten as hell.

Whoo, the "site pain" side effect is kicking in much harder after a nap. Arm be feeling pretty fucked up right now.

First moderna shot get. Shot 2 on the 13th, at which point my entire household will have got it.

So far side effects pretty mild. Bit of a headache, some arm pain, maybe a bit tired. Probably could have gotten through work today, but I'll take the boss telling me to just stay home. It's not major but it's definitely noticeable.

Is it? Iirc support's not terrible among likely D voters, and if it happened fast enough, it might be able to stop a conservative hack SC from further fucking with voting rights and protections.

Not particularly likely to happen, in any case, unfortunately. It'd be a good thing even if it didn't actually stack the court with judges worth a shit.

Yeah, I'm not buying that tasing was the intent, anyway. The excuse, obviously enough, but as we've learned over the last few decades/couple centuries, over and over and over again, there's precious few folks' words that count for less than a cop's, what with how there's basically no one that faces less consequence for lying. Don't think anyone capable of pattern recognition is going to buy a 25 year vet managed to somehow fuck up so badly as to make that "mistake", either.

... unless you were black or native or female, anyway. US has something of a mythos about the FFs, but the reality of it was that most of them were pretty shit people and the constitution reflected that. Clawing our way to one person, one vote, is still an ongoing process made that much harder by the fucking GOP in particular :-\

... fonzie rerun on tv, apparently. I have now seen the actual jumping the shark moment, offline, because for some reason it was the one running.

Dunno if it's as ridiculous as advertised, but it definitely left me with negative interest in ever seeing footage from the show again, so.

Can't recall which it was, but it either got hit swooping on something, or was in the road for some reason and got light blinded then hit, one of those two. Want to say the latter but it was a good twenty plus years ago, so, y'know. Pretty sure it was coming around a curve or somethin'.

Didn't get hit hard -- the body was in remarkably good condition, all things considered -- but it was enough to kill it, unfortunately. Was one of those bigass owls, too, not one of the small breeds. Laws might have been broken taking it home, I'unno.

I literally don't remember who it was, but either me or my mom did basically that once, except instead of a chicken it was an owl. She had roadkilled one and stuck the body in a freezer for reasons I don't recall, then it slipped the mind for a bit and one of us opened the thing to the sight of unexpected iced owl corpse.

... not sure if that helps any considering the significantly different circumstances, but maybe?
