Grats to th'winners and a round of applause for th'donatin' fellows.

Random haikus floating around the game sounds like it'd be hilarious, by th'by. Someone should do that some day :P

I've won with th'old standby of SpEn, but my favorite is what Leafsnail's playing right now, especially once invocations gets high enough to make the "cooldown" on haunt 2-3 turns. Ghosts everywhere. Every other turn or so, you cast haunt again. On everything. Everything.

It murders anything that doesn't have piercing attacks... and most things that do, if you're careful. Sif MuSu is one of the few mummy combos that's actually not woefully underpowered :P

The effectively infinite mana means you can even do other things besides summon, too~

Terraria came out June 3, right? It's been like.... a week? Wow. :o
To be fair, Prospit, Skaia, and Derse really aren't much like what they are in the actual comic. They're just hotels right now.
Also, Flar built ANOTHER penis. It's like we don't have enough penises up in here.

I know, I still wasn't able to make enough bars for anything cool even though I blew through half my potion stock.
The obsidian was easy  to come by, the problem is that I take to much damage from the deep monsters and I can't harvest surface shrooms fast enough to keep my potion stocks up.

Tends to be a lot more efficient to just buy lessers and set up a decent sized glowing shroom farm, instead of bothering to harvest the surface shrooms. It's really easy to make an industrial-scale farm that'll keep you in the glowfungus indefinitely. If you make it large enough, you can pretty easily use the excess shroomage to supply the coin for the other half of the ingredients.

As for hellmining, the usual applies. Knock th'fireballs out of the air, pave over the lava (oh gods, do not leave open lava pits), keep an eye out for th'serpents, and don't try it on MP. Hellmining is for singleplayer *nods*

You seem to have got all that, though. Maybe invest in th'autoclicker and a decent speed weapon, if you haven't already, to keep the fireballs away? Or hunt down a balloon -- I find the serpents easier to avoid with that than th'cloud, and easier again with both. SP hell is almost serene, really...

I suck rather horribly and have neither th'intent nor the interest in getting better, but I'd be happy to throw in a warm body for a few games. It's nice to play TA-derivatives every once in a while, so I can keep the bi-monthly or so urge from rising :P

*timestamp* Though this response does come a few hours later. Eh.

Terrible puns aside, I need to find something to build, I think. My shuriken-only-no-armor guy is coming along nicely, but he doesn't satisfy the building itch. Any suggestions, save for an orbital lava cannon or whatever else?

Map-spanning hellbridge?

Better. Paving hell in general is an amusing side project. We must civilize the depths!

Posting to watch, mostly. That is some legit oldskool camera LP stuff. Love the, what is that, scan lines or something? Forget what it's called, but it's obvious a picture of a screen. Is awesome :P

I'm surprised you're not going th'emu-screenshot route, though. I can only imagine that would be considerably less effort, if yer comp can handle th'emulator. Well, and you can figure out th'technical details involved, heh.

Etrian Odyssey's pretty awesome, though I haven't got very far in any of 'em. It's rare I can stand its kind of oldschool first-person dungeon crawling, but EO does it pretty darn well. Th'sequels are nice, too.

Shame the entrance isn't on the other side. That'd make for a helluva skeletron fight.

P.S. Underwater boss fight vids, plox. Especially with that hohoho-50^icthulhu thing.

Heh. I'm terribly amused, now, that I've got yer registry date beat by a whole two days, JH. I also just noticed that your initials match th'gearhead dev. Complete coincidence, but still amusing to me.

Anyway, I saw th'vids for this thing via linkage of th'unangband dev-dude's blog-thing a while back. Seems interesting enough to keep an off-eye on it.

I will say that looks wise, th'vids as-is seemed really... clumsy, I guess, is the best word. How close to 'done' are you, in that department? I'm not saying they need to be better, per se, but it felt like th'look wasn't really jiving with the gameplay 100%.

E: for minor clairity: The dev fellow's been here for a while :P

Definitely would be best to get in with someone you've got actual face-to-face history with. Looking in to it, at least via UPS, the international shipping would cost more than (or right around th'same amount of) th'actual item + stateside shipping. If I'm running the numbers right, th'whole process would cost around $100 even, maybe a bit less, USD, which is pretty impressive. Looking at roughly tripling the cost of th'actual (current) bid.

I'm guessing contact has been attempted with th'seller itself? If you could go through them, it'd be a lot easier. Auction page definitely says US only, but it wouldn't hurt to try to negotiate.

Anyway, interesting situation. I'd help if I were in a situation where I could, yeah, but I'm not at th'mo, unfortunately. I'm somewhat familiar (in a very loose sense) with th'difficulty getting things across oceans, so I wish th'OP the best of luck.

There's a few roguelikes that have leveling weapons... Portralis and certain versions of Furyband and ToME 2 are ones I can remember off the top of my head. S'probably a few more I'm not recalling.

I guess the feature shows up in MUD-type games occasionally, too.  It's been a few years since I've played any, but I do remember seeing leveling weapons in some of 'em's feature list.

Seeing as there's no fall damage, this game needs to allow you to load players into the catapult. Players and bombs.

Mixed payloads would be awesome. Soldier with shield up rides in wave of explosives and flaming shrapnel.
