Anacreon's an alright 4x. Made by th'same fellow that does Transcendence, I do believe. I wouldn't call it very deep, though, unless it's th'kinda' deep that folks call Chess. It's fairly stripped down, as 4xes go. Not terribly many moving parts. I likes me my research and configurable ships :-\

Transcendence is pretty awesome. Not a 4x, but still.

1) It's quite awesome.

2) It'd be at least twice as awesome if there was a freaking auto-fire option. At the very least letting the player just hold the button down to fire. Neither my mouse nor my poor hand can deal with that click-every-shot nonsense anymore :-\

Caveat: You're apparently talking about the playstation three. Maybe two, I'unno. Blu-ray and DVDs didn't even exist when the PSX came out :P

Tinkering and the non-Joppa merchants -- the grit gate and jungle-town ones usually carry a 150+ stack. Mostly tinkering, though. Lead slug is a tinker 1 recipe and brews up 50 bullets for one bit. There's cell using weapons (Laser pistol, electrobow/laser rifle, higher tier stuff.) as well. Chem and [energy] cells are both tier 1 items, too.

S'mirrored elsewhere, just find somewhere that does DL faster :P

As for the missing DLLs, does it actually tell you which ones are missing? It's plum easy to find th'things online if one's gone into hiding.

TD's the, uh, first one. On the Nintendo 64, yes. I was kinda' expecting Tiberian Sun, heh. Though, any particular reason for going with the N64 version? The PC one's entirely free now...

As an aside, I'd absolutely love to watch a M.A.X. LP. Wouldn't be able to contribute to in-charge stuff, seeing as I've never actually made it past the first mission (Technical difficulties, mostly), but watching someone play through it would be neat.

E: Looked at some pics of the N64 version over on Gamefaqs. It... it's actually uglier than the original? How is this possible?

So yeah. Trying to get LoL running again, when I should be sleeping. Still not working, and the threads popping up on Riot's forums seems to be getting no response from Riot itself, so I'm wondering if anyone here's ran into th'issue. One of about three threads on Riot's support forum. Same issue, same inability for any bloody thing mentioned to fix it. Updated Java, IE, Air, .net, coming off a fresh install, time's synched to window's official clock whatsit. Nothing whatsoever is doing anything to fix the problem.

I'd post over on Riot, but you apparently have to have a summoner's name to login over there, and I can't get far enough into the client to actually set one up.

Any encouraging words or advice to offer?

No, but reading that made me think: Max Payne 3, starring John McCain.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The game is built in .NET 2.0, so you'll need to install the .NET framework in order to run it; and it'll be Windows-only (sorry Mac/Linux guys, but it'd have taken me many times longer to do a project of this scope in c++).

Was in first post of thread :-\

They did for a while. No clue if the newer stuff still does, but it's a pretty common FPS option.

Anyway, mild curiosity is kinda' peaked. What do the folks here think, when they think "dead?" Are we talking complete and total lack of any development, AAA-mainstream or otherwise, at all -- even to the point stuff like DF and roguelike-level development no longer exists? Simply a lack of continued growth? Th'end of large scale (AAA, etc.) development for the system? Th'actual ceasing of personal computers entirely as a system? What level of dead are we talking here?

This perks my vague interest, despite not having Steam or particularly wanting to install it. Steam does have th'King's Bounty sequel, apparently. And th'SotS collection. Neat.

I'd kinda' like to see th'first Tiberian-whatever C&C done.

Alternately, one of the custom campaigns for SC. There's that lawlworthy 5 (I think. Memory's fuzzy, and it's been years.) parter that starts off as a Ranma 1/2 crossover and ends with a super-battlecrusier-thing :P

Also, DoW runs considerably better on this computer than SC does -- mild slow down versus multi-second stutter and general unresponsiveness/nonfunctioning, so it's entirely possible a comp that SC brings to its knees could run DoW.

If that were true, the PC98 system would have been the dominate gaming system since its inception... or at least second best.

Fair warning: There's a lot of porn games for consoles. Thanks to stuff like the Wii, Move, and Kinect, they're starting to create, uh, interesting controllers for playing them. Porn don't seem to have much effect on th'longevity (at least commercially) of a gaming system. Which is kinda' strange, considering how much influence it's got on every bloody thing else.

PC gaming will never die because, yanno', consoles are more or less just specialized, somewhat gimped, computers. Give it another few decades or thereabouts and the difference between PC and console will be entirely nominal :P

Minor suggestion for unormal, if it hasn't come up somewhere else: It would be kinda' awesome to be able to trade at a loss. As is, you have to pony up drams of water to anyone who doesn't have their own store of it (Argyve, ferex.), instead of simply giving them a little bit extra junk. I'd generally rather toss in an extra dagger or something instead of 5-6 drams of water.
