Randart ring mail's not that bad, though~

Ring mail's about as high as it goes before it gets utterly not worth it, though. Even then, if you can patch that resist hole with a robe, leather armor, or the lighter dragon stuff instead...

Maybe just bump the effect of the armor skill on heavy armor penalties?

EDIT: I should say, it would make sense to me for a master armor wearer to be better in armor than not, in all things. Maybe full penalty cancellation at 27 is too much, but still... something a little more impressive than halving a semi-crippling penalty.

Maybe in the recent years, but I still remember C&C and Starcraft for the N64 and the massive pain it was to control those bloody things, compared to ye' old mouse+keyboard. Semi-impressive for a console, but still...

Same for some of the FPSes that went PC -> Console instead of Console -> PC. Cross platform ports just have a really bad tendency to be poorly done, period. Console to PC's not the only offender there, though there's certainly a lot more of the buggers these days.

Harsh man, harsh. I think you want to say 'PC games tend to not be as playable when ported to consoles.'

'Cause, yanno, despite not having a console since the early days of the first Xbox, I still remember Super Mario Brothers, which was a pretty awesome game that the console didn't really ruin.

Less buttons would be an interesting thing to see overcome for a Diablo game, though. I don't remember the console D1 turning out all that well, but hopefully they'll have learned from that or something*.

* Probably not.

Probably could give it a shot or two, depending on the time.

This weekend though, we're doing what, Allegiance one day and <something else> the other?

Yet is a hatefully vicious and indefinite term. It could be tomorrow, ten years from this point, next Tuesday, or two seconds from now.

I think what folks are wanting to know is if that 'yet' means 'indefinite future greater than 2-4 weeks' or not. Or if that kind of commitment to a definite time frame can't be made.

It'd make 'em more comfortable doing longer-term things. Wouldn't change a thing for me (I need sleep and schoolwork at the moment), but yeah.

Bloody annoying name. I thought it was going to be a RIFTS mmo or something. Which could probably be awesome, but whatever.

EDIT: Though I see why you'd say that :P

Aww, I feel missed. Two player map though :P

Level nine, now. Probably need to fire up crawl in a day or two and check it out...

Not tonight, but perhaps in the next day or so. M'bout ready to pass out, et al.

Orb spewed flamer cyborgs all over the place. I was about the only fellow on our side hard teching (Penguin was starting to ramp up, though), so we probably lost the research battle, too. Ultimately though, flamer cyborgs everywhere.

28362
Now it won't let me join. Sadness :-[

28363
Almost. Ping's setting up a map besides ziggurat.

28364
Wait, it's now? I didn't miss it?

Yeah... I can't even load the isometric maps in Opera or Firefox, probably because the bloody thing's nearly 1020 megs in size. Part of that's the ridiculous resolution on the thing (20800x10656!?), but that bloody useless loop innit helping anything.

Anyway, there's a lot of empty space on the map as is, so I dinnae think we're exactly squished up against each other -- there's multiple areas the size of the thicket that's completely untouched. Push comes to shove, get someone capable to cuboid a plot of flat land for yeh in one of the inbetween spots.

Getting the map up to a decent size is fine, but exploration for exploration's sake (Loop! *shakes fist*) is probably something to be left to single player, yanno'?
