Holyshitihasorb.

EDIT: Miners got a win! Mind you, it's a SpEn, but still... chardump whenever CAO updates its stoof. Wait, nevermind. There it is...

EDIT2: P.S. Skid: If you read this, you might want to find a way to avoid Nikola for a while. Your vamp will probably get eaten by him right now :(

Found something interesting spring related: http://valinoreternal.no-ip.org:10004/springstats.html

Seems to be mod/map playtime stats on the main server. Interesting numbers.

They're pretty easy to sleep or confuse. They're also slow and not poison resistant, so kiting them with needles is an easy way to go. The cloud does them in, too. Stone giants and their rocks are generally more dangerous /nod

Don't really want to take them in direct melee unless you're a major close-combat bruiser though, no. Should have ditched earlier, came back from a different direction. Also, you should have been able to icicle it to death fairly easily...or tried that disen wand.

Berserking then charging up the stairs might have worked, too. Blink scroll, a number of buff potions... you had a lot of options that probably could have saved you.

Mostly sounds like you just panicked -- any time that starts to happen, just save and go do something else for a bit. S'not really a time limit, tourney ending in ~4 days notwithstanding.

---

The defense stats you've got going are vaguely incredible, Person. I wish I had 'em...

Ha! I love first-turn/action deaths in RLs, for all that I hate that they exist.

If it makes it any more amusing, I do believe what happened to you is actually a stated design goal for SS's devs. Congrats! Everything's in working order.

Crawlbot's not very descriptive: How bad is th'tomb? Crypt was a cakewalk (My lil'imbamunchkinbeastspriggy can straight up melee skeleton warriors now... and more or less do the same to stone giants, but that's a different discussion.). There's no real reason for me to get more runes, but... if I can, I don't see a reason not to snatch up a bit o'low hangin' fruit.

So, uh... woah. I just got my third rune from the vault. I... what do I do now? What does this fellow need to take th'orb and scoot?

I can't really tell, heh. Certain forms clearly favor strength, but it doesn't really seem to say for the base attacks. Iirc, th'wiki suggests there's a slight dex weighting, but trolls and junk can do fine just pumping the crap out of strength and clawing things to pieces, so I dunno.

You can't see it, but Sigmund is a few squares to the right out of your line of sight.
This is true in all situations.

Except those cases you just killed him.

Unless your darn fool self polymorphed 'im into a jelly or somethin' first. Then there might be a few extra running around.

...

I'unno, poly-wand + enslavement spell + jelly sigmund = The Unstoppable Sigmund Horde? Just keep one or two jeligmunds around to make more to be poly'd into other critters.

Probably be an interesting way to die after you ran out of th'mana to keep the enslavements going, anyway.

Fun fact: One of the lair ends have like eight of the things lurking around it, if you poke th'place hard enough. Plus they're incredibly likely to come up behind you when you trigger the buggers. That was a delightful experience my MDFi survived. Crazy lil'bugger can actually kill 'em, but it takes haste+might (Ahaha bai oky piety) to do it.

Nothing compared to SpEns of Nemelex :P That's had me bottom on th'dungeon, when most of my doods don't even survive 'till lair.

Really, though, it's th'whole guaranteed decent loot thing. I've already had dudes get down to like d:15 or lower without finding a single artifact anything, and ol' Oky'll be giving them to you not terribly far in. Oky's might innit bad, either, though the haste is kinda' redundant (other than potentially early access) on a crusader.

Never really seen what Merfolk's got going for 'em, though, 'cept the whole water thing. Aptitudes look good, now that I look at 'em -- HP progression, too. Crusader's book is pretty boss, though -- non Trog Berserk, regen (huge), repel missiles (huge), haste (huge), potentially useful brands... it's a solid starting book.

Stick 'em in th'mod folder wherever you stuffed Spring. It's not a compressed file, iirc, just a file type used by Spring.. Unless it's a map, then it goes in th'map folder. That should do it.

If you've got an alright connection, downloading mods via the spring downloader or the lobby is probably the most efficient way of doing it. Less effort on your part.

Our stat gain should be something that helps us blow stuff up or make more money.
That'd be reflexes, perception (if they're usin' big guns or missiles), craft (snipin' an' salvaging), or charm (Better prices from everywhere.).

I'd probably say moar reflexes. Can never really have enough of 'em (well, at least until you're in the mid-upper twenties. Then you can probably let it slide.). Makes yeh harder to hit and hit harder with th'smaller guns.
