It's rare, but yeah, some folks get offended by they/them. Mix of folks that are real attached to he/she (usually some variety of anti-lgbtetc bigot, that) and ones that have a specific preferred (often-if-not-always non-standard, not he/she or they, from what I've noticed) set and dislike it when it's not used.

The latter, at least, will probably be chill with initial mistakes so long as they don't keep happening, or at least are apologized for and an attempt is made. The former are almost always some form of raging jackass, so they're probably not going to be chill. Not much you can do to avoid offending those sorts if you're not also a sack of shit in human form, tho', so, y'know. Probably don't worry much about 'em.

i mean, yup, that's one of the general things going on, yes

turns out lockdown or not a lot of people just don't want to catch the plague (or catch it anyway and end up rekt for days to weeks to ever) so commerce et al craters regardless

but yeah as for how desperate i think, what, literally the worst it's been this year in many places and continuing to spiral upwards as bodies and prospective bodies gum up healthcare systems so yanno the word is "pretty", pretty desperate and getting moreso one thousand two thousand three thousand ah ha ha

someone get me count von count with a plague doctor mask

and a nap

count von count the plague doctor and a nap

go away midnight nobody likes you

"But wierd," says the Capitalist, "how am I supposed to afford my mega yacht, a yacht so big it doubles as a floating pier for my smaller yachts, if I can't extort the working class for every penny in their pocket and every pained drop of sweat from their brow? Surely God intended for me to have my mega yacht, and therefore I'm entitled to exploit to my heart's content, surely."
"How are you still talking, Capitalist," wierd mutters bemusedly, working to dismantle a mega yacht into smaller, less wasteful ships, "after being cooked and eaten? This is the most vocal indigestion I've ever had!"

Or to put it differently, if fermat's last theorem was something entirely different, working off different priors and means of interaction, but still called the same, it could be falsified!

You don't even need god or new math for that, just someone willing to insist that 2+2=69 is actually fermat's last theorem. It's kinda' like insisting a goodness that includes mass intanticide or bioterrorism is still goodness, and not just something entirely unlike it you're still calling the same thing. Good ol' religious language, in other words :P

There is an end-game victory condition type thing (maybe more than one?), yes. Dunno if it actually punts you to a victory screen, your-save-is-done-go-away, make new game to start playing again thing, tho'.

I know the feel of that sin. Sometime in the last year or two I noticed the online system I work with for our library was infested with old, public facing, notes that had "ISBN number" in them. Had to talk with the techfolk managing admin to get a system wide mass fix of that particular mess, oi.

Like, I didn't actually cause any of it, personally, but that's the sort of thing that inflicts guilt by association, y'know? Gotta' get it dealt with.

Eh, eighty five days is a decent buffer? Might be survivable. If it's not, puppy+something else (maybe even a bunch of outers with bows... especially hunting bows, in my experience) can probably kill it.

In any case, if it gets close and you don't think it'll work out, either banish them* or tell them to go to a distant corner of the map when the tribulation's about to happen (one time I've actually had a yaoguai tribulation happen so far, I assigned them a cushion far away from everything else when it about started), if you're looking to harvest some demon fur and beast blood.

But yeah, if you don't pop the thing off in the middle of your buildings there probably won't be much collateral damage.

e:*I think you can assign them to assist at an agency, too, if you haven't promoted them? Maybe not as the primary agent, but the helpers might work.

... wait, starting scenarios? What?

I've seen chatter from some, and yeah, they were fucking exhausted about six months ago. Shit only sorta' let up after the initial surge, many of them haven't really had much of a break this entire goddamn time.

Lot are hanging in there, but I can just about guarantee you when the plague actually lets up you're going to see massive expression of burnout; people fleeing the professions involved, spikes in suicide rates (iirc already showing :-\), and so on. It's already ugly as hell, and relief ain't for a long time yet.

3222
Best of luck to you. Wish my local stuff had the sense to be following similar restrictions, but... yeah. Rural florida, at least we're managing to keep the library patrons wearing masks without someone trying to shoot us.

... also wish like hell zero in-person contact outside of the other folks living with me was an option that didn't also involve being homeless. If the ones letting me stay here hadn't said they'd kick me out if I quit work I would have apologized to my boss and ditched months ago, before my local area spiked to the highest rates it's seen this year :-\

I read a book (America's Original Sin) that has some interesting points about about how one of the problems with modern police culture is that somewhere in history, and especially American history, the modus operandi of police changed from guardians to warriors.

We could go a long way to improving law enforcement by moving back to a guardian sensibility rather than a warrior sensibility. You can even keep them armed - having armed guardians is notably different than armed warriors.  It's all about the mindset and approach.
I mean, stateside the whole shit and caboodle originated with goddamn slave hunters. There's no "guardian" to go back to, the institution's roots are possibly even worse than its present, or at least terrible in different ways.

Huh ?
Delph's talking the guy with the star pompador in the KFC dating sim, pretty sure. Character design is pretty reminiscent of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

I'm not experienced at all, even with my steam thing clocking 120 hours; I still haven't gotten anyone to primordial spirit :P

Most I got is tooling around the early to mid game for, uh. A lot, at this point. Plus having some the discord guides bookmarked, heh. But there's apparently tons I just haven't touched on, yet.
