General Discussion / Re: AmeriPol thread

This means, per the 1st amendment, congress cannot pass a law that restricts a person's ability to express themselves. PERIOD.
For folks watching, do note that this is actually very untrue. Congress can and has passed laws congruent with the 1st that restricts people's ability to express themselves, the first just makes it a lot harder to do so (in a way that'll survive legal challenge, anyway). I don't recall the exact ones off the top of my head, but there's very strict but very existent conditions for constitutionally violating the 1st -- and while the courts have mostly been very consistent in ruling in favor of people invoking it, they've also very much established that the 1st is not, in fact, unlimited writ to express anything under any condition. There are guidelines for its (among other amendments) limits written into the constitution.

Have to check those mini things. So far out of the three they started me with as a hunter (sword, wired lance, gunblade), I've outright sold everything except the lance :P The sword and gunblade both kinda' felt like ass, but the lance feels alright. The grab is great and the geyser thing seems like pretty nice poke, plus the range on the basic gives you a nice bit of leeway. Just doesn't have the visual impact a big ol' axe could :(

Picked up a partizan from somewhere or another, though. Just don't have the bitsies to do anything with it except basic attack, yet. Probably should see how the ranged stuff feels at some point. I understand there's rocket launchers...

E: Man, what. The big ape boss thing that randomly shows up in the forest (and I think the initial tutorial) is like two or three times harder of a fight than the giant spiky wolf thing that looked like it was supposed to be the first "real" boss. That ape has chunked my ass every time I've encountered it but I solo no-damage chumped the wolf on first encounter. Friggin' weird.

I mean, it's fairly common with men his age in particular. Warm water can help with passing when you have prostate issues or whatev'.

Fiddled a bit. Current major question: Are there axes? If so, how get? Tiny chonkbot needs axe.

Welp. Schoolbus picking up kids here again. Wonder if we're going to have a day one infection re-close here, too, or if we just get to wait a week or two before a school sourced outbreak (gets identified, I'm sure we'll have spread before that). C'mon little folks, murder your parents and grandparents with the plague, that'll learn yeh.

"We destroyed the bridge to our closest ally to stop the flying lizards from getting here!"

wait what

7th dragon no, you were doing okay up until you decided to burn bridges to "slow down" an army of flight capable monsters

why

3577
Pretty often, yeah. Tends to be how I manage low number multiplication for 9, too.

Base ten is best until such a point we grow extra fingers, really. If you can't finish off your base without taking your shoes off or reusing digits you've already screwed up.

Just ate a spoonful of smoked pork and rice that tasted dead on for fruity pebbles cereal.

Apparently when you combine smoked pork loin with teriyaki marinade and cajun style no-salt seasoning, then mix it into brown basmati rice, that's one of the things that can happen. Pork and rice that tastes like fruity pebbles. It's not consistent for the whole bowl of the stuff, but I guess there's pockets of it that somehow mixed just right (wrong?).

Y'know, it just occurred to me, but life insurance buy in for elderly must be looking tragicomic right about now stateside. Kinda' wonder if anyone's charting it, and especially variances of change between states.

... is it? It's mostly varieties of RPG with a couple action-y things and some builder/survival stuff, one or two other things but that's most of it. It's a list but it's not particularly diverse as games go, heh.

Any case, might check out Dredgers for something small, action-y rpg/roguelite style, or Moonlighter for something similar with a dash of recetter style shop management. Either might fit with that list well enough.

And you'd get the same thing as in schools if more parents bring their kids, then they're just not grouped at school, they're grouped at their parents' workplaces.
I mean, that would still sorta' be an improvement! At least you'd be removing an extra infection vector by not having the household in question potentially spread the plague to both workplace and school. That's probably going to be better than the infection spreading to both.

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/08/04/us/aurora-police-draw-guns-girls/index.html

In a 'mix up' police officers arrested a black woman and her three underage female relatives at gunpoint, because they thought they were in stolen car (they were not).

See the girl on the left? 6 years old.

At least they only handcuffed the 12 year old and older. Probably because the cuffs are too large for the 6 year old. They should really get ones that are adjustable.
Is that the one where the stolen vehicle they were supposedly after was actually a motorcycle, or was that a different family the cops forced out of their car at gunpoint?

3584
You can ask for a removal, sure. They kinda' need to check on it to make sure it's not malignant, though, so... yeah. See the dermatologist. Can't just hack it off without observation and/or biopsy, 'cause that can be how you get dangerous skin cancer.

E: Welp. Funeral might as well have been fucking tailor made to spread a plague, even with relatively (but not fully, of goddamn course) complete mask compliance. Time to spend the next couple of weeks wondering if this just turned a chunk of my family into fucking plague statistics :-\

You have only finished the beginning! Now, you mod :P

Or not, but seriously if you do get something of an urge in the future, I'd recommend it. There's seriously robust mods for terraria that add a lot of content -- more biomes, more enemies, more bosses, more cosmetics, etc. -- to the game. If you're looking for a fresh run with stuff you just haven't seen before, well, the option's there.
