ha ha ha did I say ten I just checked again and somehow it has fucking doubled

My wc3 folder, which has none of the custom maps in it, is currently 21.8 gigs in size. And the update still isn't finished.

what the hell did they do and how did they come to the conclusion it was a good idea

E: hey update finally fini- what the hell is this passive 1.5 gig ram leech login bullshit holy goddamn hell

Yeah, okay, I can see why people might be pissed about this. This, ladies and gents, is how you fuck up backwards compatibility, bloody hell. I just wanted a round of friggin' youtd and now there's a mountain of system resource sucking horseshit between me and it goddamn :-\

Yeah... I'unno, I've currently been waiting like. Three days. For whatever they did to the TFT update to finish downloading. Idle check suggests it's whatever the fuck has dumped like ten gigs into the data files, which holy shit I did not ask for give some goddamn warning update box.

Got less than zero interest in reforged, anyway. The only thing that possibly could entice me would be an engine overhaul (that was substantial... and backwards compatible), and that doesn't actually seem to be in the works if crossplay between TFT and reforged is on still on the table.

... all that said, most of the wc3 vids I've seen lately (been on a bit of a custom game watching spree) that used reforged looked... okay. Not, like, amazing or anything, and overall less... I'unno, soulful? Colorful? Distinct? It's new-style mobile adjacent art stuff, which isn't super appealing to me, and as I've watched some one say, the models basically bully the hell out of the rest of the game. But it seems a'ight when it's working.

This surprise decagig thing is pretty horseshit, tho'.

Huh. Looks like some sodas don't have that, actually? Maybe root beer, which occasionally isn't even carbonated. You might be able to work milk in there somehow. You definitely can ice cream, so...

Though yeah, coke as a specific term referring to coca-cola (as opposed to a more generic usage you see sometimes), probably not. Flat sounds like it might not be as acidic, so... maybe if you boiled it for a while or added something to neutralize before putting in the milk. Lot of effort for milky cola, though.

You could totally have your bubble tea coke all the time, tho'. Just have to put in the money and effort for it :P

Dredge around shitty isekai/reincarnation junk, yeah. I've definitely ran into plenty foreknowledge centric works over the years. MMO or reincarnated-into-a-video-game based stuff seems particularly common to run with that general theme.

Fair warning, though. I don't think I've ever encountered one that was actually good. Or even particularly mediocre. You're not inquiring into a field likely to produce quality :P

Consequently, I can't remember any names off the top of my head, ahaha.

Fair warning, mixing everything has a weird tendency to come out tasting like children's asprin. Like, it's frikkin' uncanny how easy it is to mix together sodas and end up with something that could pass for those old flintstones chewables.

Probably just throwing stuff together to see what happens? I used to do that with drinks pretty often.

Incidentally, green tea and hot chocolate are kinda' terrible mixed together. Something really good is pepsi, doctor pepper, and blueberry minute maid mixed at a 1:1:2 ratio -- you know you have it right when it turns swamp water green. Also using soda in general as a base for tea instead of water is surprisingly good if you can handle something super, super sweet.

I remember in the first Back to the Future, when Marty travelled to the future for the first time, there were VR pixelated games, why didn’t the movie makers think we would move past gsmes with such big pixels? Gsmes of course still carry pixels, but they are smaller and there are lots more of them, compared to the “VR” in BttF, when there were Dig Dug graphics but with less resolution
Because it was 1989, and the primary gaming system at the time was the fricken NES.
3D polygonal gaming was still years away. We have the benefit of hindsight.

Now you tell me what gaming is gonna be like in 2046
Reasonable retcon, they could have totally just tripped over a heavy retro area/gaming fad. It's not like we don't regularly produce low-fi games nowadays, no reason that couldn't have been what was going on in BttF, if you were trying to explain it by something that would make sense in-universe.

Presumably you try to not catch fire in the process. That seems to be important these days?

... though maybe if it's in honor you set like, a shirt sleeve on fire or something? In solidarity? Not sure how this works.

It's pretty easy if you have a few million USD to splash, sure. Maybe adds tens of (and/or ruthless exploitation of workers) to that if you want something super fancy. If you don't things get more difficult. Your bottom line for relatively easy is probably still six digits. Less than that involves crowd funding and/or great efforts to team build and whatnot, and stops being anything even resembling not hard.

At least it's iguanas instead of alligators or snakes, I guess?

They give any reason for the lizard rain?

Going down road, sign on side say in big letters, VOTE HAM FOR SHERIFF. Kay.

Later, pizza box in store say, "Seven Cheese Pizza" and I'm just like. My body is ready. Yes, thank you. For some reason walmart seems to be experimenting with frozen pizza varieties and they're like. Actually decent? Their breakfast pizzas are pretty damn good.

Related to that, they're apparently rolling out "healthy" canned soup. The wtf is that going by the nutrition label, they're actually like the healthiest soups they have on the shelves. Lowest sodium, low end of carbs and calories, etc., etc. Frikkin' weird when bloody walmart is doing better on that front than dedicated healthy food brands.

Drunkards are explicitly called out at some point or another at least once that I'm aware of, for what it's worth. No need to try to shuffle it under gluttony or whatever, it stands on its own about as well as some other things. Don't remember if it was in old or new, though. Some denominations care about that, sorta. Sometimes.

There's also some commentary on some forms of birth control, but the one I see referenced the most has a moral that basically boils down to "don't pull out if you're banging your dead brother's widow". Which is, uh. Fairly specific.

Also there might be some things in there on animal husbandry? Might count for genetic manipulation!

I mean, it kinda' is? Lucky to be in the right place at the right time to ride the coat tails of conquest. I don't think there's any religion of note that hasn't spread by the sword at some point or another. Some just happened to be attached to larger empires, more or less.

For what it's worth, pay-day loans actually are illegal in some states.

But basically yeah, the people that shit preys on tend to be too beat down and desperate to fight back :-\
