They're generally just an incendiary device. Not a gun of any sort. If you want a colloquial name, I hear "flamethrower" is in vogue :P

Gods of the Fallen Land is going for half off, so 2.50 USD. It is worth that to an extreme degree, imo. Interface takes a little getting used to and I'm not sure how replayable it is, but the boss fights especially are bloody incredible, and generally the game design's just hella' slick on several different levels. If you ever wanted a fairly contained isometric-ish action/survival game with minor city building/tower defense elements, this is it. If you never even considered wanting that, it's still a hell of an experience worth the asking price (and probably a few times over it).

... though if you get it and have some technical difficulties/performance issues, check the steam forum. There's some known issues with certain hardware that's not terribly difficult to adjust for.

Apparently not. A firearm is something that expels a projectile by way of an explosion, more or less. Most flamethrowers don't do that. So not a firearm.

Far more rarely than it should. It's the signal that gets missed the most, I find, though.

Haven't had it quite that long, but it's still been twelve years or so. Not even a little urge to change names or whatev', though. Hell, I think I've had the same signature longer than a fair few of my family members have been alive...

I mean, the form doesn't match church pageantry, no. So far as reverence or holiness goes, that's fairly irrelevant. Something humble and efficient would honestly probably be closer to scripture, really... well, assuming it's not just snake oil horseshit, anyway.

Expires in less than 48 hours, and it looks like they count from arrival, not something else. I.e. there's no way to get anything out of it before it expires. Short of spending however much to extend the warranty, and... no. If nothing but regular usage is going to drop one of their devices in a year's time, I they ain't getting no more of my dosh. New tablet isn't cheap, but it isn't super expensive, either.

Non-cracked tablet decided to keel over more or less dead. Near as I can tell from its behavior and what folks are saying online, the most likely cause is the display cable inside it basically melting, due to some galaxy brained designer deciding directly over the battery was a good place to put it.

Warranty for the thing dies in two days, too. I'm not saying planned obsolescence but it smells a lot like planned obsolescence. Either way I'm out a tablet whose screen doesn't look like modern art :-\

Guess I'll be shopping for a new tablet. Not, uh. Not Lenovo again. It was pretty nice while it lasted but I ain't giving more money to folks that apparently can't make a device last a full year.

Nah, that would take a burnt one, not a plain one :P

Then I guess you'd put frosting on it or sprinkle it with chocolate chips or something.

Fairness where it's due, I could actually see a syrup glaze or somethin' on a hamburger patty be pretty damn good. I've put sweet stuff on hamburger patties before. Usually just honey bbq or teriyaki sauce, but I've done syrup (and whatever the proper name of syrup'd ketchup is) too. Better on bacon (syrup drizzled bacon is like bacon but better) but it's still pretty a'ight.

The new york metropolitan area is 13,318 mi˛, ree. About 34,493 km˛. That 12k you're mentioning is the greater sydney region, which as near as I can tell is roughly equivalent as a concept. Please don't forget the US is huge :V

Chocolate and meat/substitutes can be pretty good, especially with chili.

Kinda confused about the whole mashed potato thing... You made soup, used it instead of water on a prepared meal, then added cheese and meat of some kind? Pls elaborate
Like, it's instant mashed potatoes. Their instructions can basically be boiled down to add water and heat, or heat water and add. So what I did was cook up a can of cream of chicken soup instead of using water, and then dumped the mashed potatoes into it and stirred until I was content. Content included cheese and some extra water, and somehow ended up with a consistency dead on for dough, which I can't recall ever quite managing in the hundreds of times I've prepared instant mashed potatoes. I've even done the dump-it-in-cream-of-whatever before, without this exact results.

As for exact measurements, nah. It was a can of Campbell's (half milk/half water) and a bag of walmart's four-cheese mashed potatoes stuff. Then, uh. Good bit of walmart's taco cheese and some water after stirring a bit and being dissatisfied with the consistency. Probably less than a cup of either (actually measuring out a cup of shredded cheese leaves you with like a stupid amount of cheese, honestly), but it was a decent amount as tossing stuff in goes.

I haven't fiddled around with frying much of anything except french fries, and not even that, much. Dun's probably right, though. I've had little fried potato ball things before and they're indeed kinda' bloody amazing.

E: oh, the meat was a couple of slices of deli honey roasted turkey, tore up into bits. I put the stuff in just about anything grain or starch based I cook, heh. Adds a bit of meat and a bit of sweet.

I have apparently managed to make a dish of instant mashed potatoes with the general consistency of cookie or bread dough. As in, I just took a spoonful, turned the spoon over, shook it a little, and the potatoes were like, "Nah dawg, I'm cool here. Gonna' stay put."

Used cream of chicken soup instead of, y'know, water. Added a good bit of cheese, bit of un-souped water afterwards. Some seasoning, some meat. Bit saltier than I'd prefer but it tastes pretty good. I just feel like I could roll it into tiny balls and make turkey/potato cookies out of it.

... also that led me to ask google if meat cookies actually exist. A. They do, and B. I, uh. Kinda' tempted to try cooking this 'mpanatigghi thing. Chocolate meat cookie.

I'unno, that sounds like nightmare (or higher, for that matter) to me since like day 1. Chaff is chaff and occasionally you hit a randboss or whatever that casually pushes your shit in. Winning's mostly an issue of figuring out what the latter is at a distance, staying away from it, and hoping the final bosses don't fall into that category. Also being a broken buzzsaw of death, generally, heh. Not sure if wyrmic's back to being one of those... know there's been some changes I haven't paid much attention to, but for a long while they (and especially going antimagic) were one of the weaker classes.

Unless DG's changed their mind since the last time I was particularly close to the dev process, T4 is fundamentally not balanced around the higher difficulties, though. They're there for 'fun' and for people that want their teeth kicked in occasionally, but making it a smooth or generally enjoyable experience isn't even on the priority list, nevermind high up it. Super broken stuff is (sometimes) fixed, but that's about it.

Personally, if I want more of a challenge or a spicier run without dealing with nightmare+'s horseshit, I'll roll out one of the mods that increases rare/randboss spawning rate and crank those numbers up. That makes things more interesting without enemy scaling et al getting quite as silly.

E: In other news, annihilator is some fun times. Built pretty passive offense so far (grenades, spiderbot, artillery, basically avoiding their active stuff), but I've finally gotten around to really reading some of the talents and holy shit does the tier 4 shield one look all kinds of busted. Flat damage mitigation based off block amount, in a radius? Sign me the hell up, frumple wants that 100+ dam reduction lolno field to stick my arachnoblender and turrets in. There's even a damage component too, ahaha.

E2: And in adventurer fun times, it turns out annihilator rockets will indeed trigger psyshot projections... which, of course, trigger arcane combat procs. I'm having mild survivability issues, and lost two lives to rngreebus deciding a level 37 orc pyromancer was a good thing to drop on my level 12 arse on OF 3, but overall... this is a good kind of silly. Can't even figure out quite how to describe what this would look like. You'd have some crazy thing doing one-handed jojo punches through portals, with the portals exit being attached to rockets they're firing off from a shoulder mounted launcher.

Except rather than punches it would be braining people with psionic voodoo rocks that occasionally erupt into varying pyrotechnics on impact. Also they'd be constantly shooting people in the face to project more rock smack portals. The mechanics are effective, the visuals, absurd.

E3: As for how silly, you know that thing that can happen when you've gotten so silly you're passively killing many things so fast auto-explore doesn't even recognize they exist and just keeps going as you mow down half the level with basically no input from you outside of pressing the auto-explore button? That's how silly. It's not something I've seen very often in the years I've played T4, ahaha.

Also it turns out rocket pods have a nice synergy with relatively low capacity shot, like some of the set artifact shot likes to have. Since, y'know, it doesn't use ammo but is otherwise entirely like a normal shoot command :P

E4: Vor armory death room clear cheevo at level 32. Been a while since I ate the wyrms <3

E5: ha ha ha tk wielding a steamgun makes rocket pod hit twice

ho ho ho psyshot dgaf it hits twice too

this is glorious

gloriously stupid
