It suddenly occurred to me that there's someone out there whose job is to make monkeys fuck. Breeding programs, conservation efforts, zoo related stuff, etc. There probably an entire economic niche for simian sex support. Somebody out there trains for it, people get trained for it, paid for it, the whole nine yards.

"So what do you do for a living?"

"I'm the monkeyfucker."

"... what?"

"It's not the worst superpower but it's on the list."

I got the same or something similar. Second wand had torch, I think. Turns out when you pop a torch modifier on a wand with oil trail it becomes less 'oil' and more 'liquid fire'. Ignites the oil as it's leaving the wand, flamethrower style. It's pretty awesome. Puddles of fire all over the place, first time I've seen much of that particular effect.

It's still trucking along, at least. Dunno if there's much super major that's changed, but there's been a fair bit of development since 2017, and the warlord is at least sorta' in, now.  Had an update last month. Things seem to be slow but pretty steady.

The randomized start is pretty ace. Best I've seen so far is probably summoner, which has one wand that doesn't matter and a second wand with no spell components... and always cast summon rock. Football wizard agogo.

Less fancy doesn't have a tech tree, iirc. Fewer turrets, too, I think. Overall a bit simpler, and I want to say the controls were actually a bit more forgiving, possibly just due to there being less moving parts to fiddle with. Been a while since I played it, but that version I could actually tolerate the controls for on my tablet. Not so the more developed one. The fancier ones damn solid with a proper control interface, tho'. Touch screen/tablet stuff just ain't that interface.

It's pretty great, yeah. And yes, you can 'pay whatever, including nothing' on their main site. Still seeing updates, too! It's a nice little game.

There's also a mobile version, for what it's worth. Both for the fancier new one and an older version that's less fancy. Trying to play on a touch screen is complete ass, though. Waaaay harder to work with than mouse+keyboard.

Turn off computer thing :P

Alternatively, if you're not using it get flux or twilight or use night light or... whatever. To cut the blue light out/down. Dim the screen, tint it so it doesn't fuck you up as hard. It'll do you some good, more likely than not. My sleeping habits used to be hella' screwed up, then I did a bit of maintenance on my lighting conditions and things got a whole lot better.

In order to prevent that, you now have to become a scholar of both.

A lyrical mythicist.
No, no, I'm good. It'll pass, and occasional vulgar doggerel is plenty so far as musically inclined creative nuisance goes. No desire to expand the palate on that front.

For a single, horrified moment, I thought VN had risen from the dead.
it is not dead which can eternal lie.

And with strange aeons even death may die...
I shot the shoggoth,
but I didn't shoot the dythalla, oh no

yeah im not in my happy place anymore, part of my brain is trying to rewrite I shot the sheriff into a mythos parody and i don't know the song nor mythos well enough for it to be anything but a wiggling cognitive nuisance

Folks, there's an entire subforum for that silliness. Shoo, shoo.

Kindergartners themselves might not have been particularly racist (though only might, kids pick up on that shite pretty early, unfortunately), but the teachers or parents that thought it was okay? Probably. Kids I'd maybe give a pass for explicit awareness when they're still like six bloody years old or some crap, but that cuts off somewhere in the teens, if that.

Either way, that's fairly irrelevant to the actions of a 29 year old in the 2000s, which was apparently when trudeau was still pulling that shit. Or most of the people that wore or encouraged fucking blackface since it started snowing up in minstrel shows and junk. You can maybe make the argument of it being racism neutral years ago if you were talking about somewhere not North America or most of Europe or basically anywhere with a substantial english speaking population, or maybe pre-colonization, but on this continent the crap's been racist as hell from day 1 and it ain't slacked off.

Cowboy/indian stuff has its own problems, but we ain't talking that mess. We're talking something pretty specific and it's shit that's been unambiguously racist for its entire history in just about every context. Trudeau is or was racist, flat out. Maybe not the virulent lynching-doesn't-sound-that-bad sort, but the more passive sort that doesn't give a damn to the degree they'd trot out friggin' blackface, yup. It's pretty evident he is or was literally that.

Again, that might not mean other options were worse, but the blowback he's gotten on the subject is deserved. Maybe he's changed in the last twenty or so years, I'unno. Maybe he stumped hard on the problems making a good number of corpses out of canadian minorities and I just missed it. S'possible.

There's precious few people that have ever put on blackface without being damn well sure it was racist.
Is that actually true, though? Universally? And how do you know?
Like, I've been around north american racists all my fucking life. Many of them in the age range in question or older, and yes, from more than just my little slice of shitsville. It's pretty damn true. There's little to no people that indulged that didn't know exactly what they were doing. Shit was not innocent or ignorant, it was unpunished, at the time. It's biting people in the ass years later for good reason.

Doubt that last bit. Doubt it real fucking hard. There's precious few people that have ever put on blackface without being damn well sure it was racist. The implications were entirely fucking known 20-30 years ago, the potential repercussions for it just weren't particularly there and a lot of folks just didn't care. He could have changed in the interim period, but positing a position of ignorance is a goddamn farce.

General inaction on first nations stuff probably paints him (and much of the government, for that matter) as fairly racist in the current times, just as an example, though. Whether it's more racist than other choices when it comes to people who care about that sort of thing voting, well... that's another question.

Dear diary,

Today I learned that kicking an angry bag full of acid what can explode into acid and smaller angry bags of acid was a bad idea.

Yours in death,
Kagus

Good to know minecart massacring your way through the first level can net you a free chest, though. I wonder if the holy mountain one can be a mimic...

Especially considering how few people call opossums anything except possums. I just now learned the one near bloody everywhere in the US is technically called the virginia opossum. Why, the wikipedia page doesn't seem to say. Also no one calls it that. Either of those words. They're possums. Just possums.
