Welp. I guess it's that time in a game engine cycle where monetization nonsense leads to a new (financial) low-end engine popularizing. You had a good run, unity, it'll be neat to see what replaces you :V

Why are these internet arguments so important o these people that they're willing to risk jail time?
Ask the people that livestream breaking and entering or whatever. Some folks see social interactions and just stop thinking about second order effects, I guess.

Dumbshits actually went for it, huh. My guess? It's not even going to reach the senate. If the idiot speaker had the votes to push it through, he'd have held one on opening the inquiry itself.

I think that’s the most analysis that a Segal film will ever receive.
Nah, there's multi-page academic analysis on those things faffing about somewhere, iirc. Less than a dozen paragraphs don't even enter into the running.

Most that one will ever receive on B12, though, maybe :P

English spelling was spiraling out of control.
"was"

lol

lmao, even

E: It's a mildly amusing(?) thing, but I very deliberately inflict microaggressions against extraneous 'u's as part of my job. There is no "colour" in any MARC record I touch in our library catalog, even the ones I originally copied from the UK or australia or whatever. It's extra pointed since standards changed and we (are supposed to, anyway) stop abbreviating a lot of things, so the previously ubiquitous "col." shortening used when describing items (color illustrations -- col. illus, before -- most commonly, but color in describing videorecordings is common, too) is being deliberately changed to color, sans u, as I encounter them :V

This cat of yours certainly has some fascination with redecorating your place.
Eh, it's really clearly just a cat+fuzzy!thing dealio. If the outside cats didn't kill all the mice and whatnot she'd probably be dragging those around instead.

But yeah, it's been a thing since she was meaningfully mobile in the house. For a while she was pretty fixated on my sleeping mask, and would abscond with it at every opportunity.

Curbside pickup has done amazing things for other-person-pickup accuracy, in my experience over the last few years. It's less capable of handling spontaneity, but if you/they know they're going a few hours or a day early, you can just have them pickup the exact order you put in (barring no stock or substitution, anyway), instead of relying on them trying to figure it out themselves. It's made things way more consistent, heh.

The closest thing to arkanoid on mobile I've found I enjoyed quite a bit is, well. The recollect games (Soul Armor, Chimera), and they're less arkanoid and more pool. No paddle, but it's got the ball, bricks, powerups, and incremental upgrades to keep things interesting (plus a fairly adorable plot for chimera in particular). Ads they have are fairly unobtrusive, too.

Sadly, the only three vaguely adjacent to arkanoid things I can think of other than that -- Brick Odyssey (Roguelite RPG fusion), Plong (will destroy your mind), and Whackerball (more pong than brick breaker, but most of the components are there) -- don't seem to have mobile releases.

Though, that said? The dummy easy formula is why there's a tremendous amount of really shitty, super monetized ones. It's pretty easy to shit out a brick breaker game and fleece some rubes, basically, so lots of folks have done it :-\

It's generally more entertaining when you leave the mean words in, really. Long as it's not cussing out someone actually on this board you should be fine :P

In a first for this house, sometime overnight the cat decided to drag a sock from literally the other end of the house to the living room... and then the dog went and peed on that sock.

I can't decide if they're cooperating, or if the dog got fed up with the cat playing with the sock and decided to make it stop.

Well... for what it's worth, as the article notes the guy isn't in russia and probably won't be going there any time soon, what with... everything. It's a conviction in absentia, after having labeled the guy a foreign agent. Rather imagine he ain't gon' go nowhere that extradites to russia any time soon.

Ever since Luck be a Landlord blew up a bit, that style of game (I think the most common designation is "drafting", or slots based) has seen a handful of new riffs on it. There's at least one other swords and sorcery themed one I'm aware of (though I can't remember the name offhand), plus two or three farming themed ones out at this point.

We'll almost certainly be seeing more going forward, considering they're basically just less exploitative slot machines with some strategy added in, heh.

It's... largely the exact other direction? The term's usage stateside mostly arose out of horseshit related to scientific racism, and has largely maintained by inertia mixed with shits that are quite fond of that nonsense. It's definitely not an attempt to dodge racist sentiment, heh.

Y'know, if you hadn't said anything I wouldn't have even thought to check, heh. Morbid curiosity is a hell of a drug.

He was comparing his parent's generation to his own and preceding ones. The dating experience in 1950, 1960, 1970 is very, very different than it is now.
Neat thing is, from what I've picked up of studies into the issue, our more recent generations are actually, like... better at it? Than those ones. Even with all the new problems trends that's popped up, they're more likely to form lasting, healthy relationships, all that jazz.

People keep being surprised when they look into it, expecting it to be some kind of horrible hellscape worse in myriad ways than the methods of yesteryear but it keeps turning out the kids are kinda' okay. They got all sorts of problems that are getting worse but relationship wrangling apparently isn't one of them.
