I'd just about bet crows or somethin' could both figure out currency to some degree and figure out how to steal it. The world going fully digital due to flocks of corvids janking all the physical money would be something that'd fit right in with this century.

Yeah, if I could art worth a damn I would inflict some things on reality. Hands can't really manage it, though. Always had trouble with that sort of thing, and it's only worse nowadays. Fucking shaking nonsense, bleh.

The internet suggests no one has drawn a picture of a swole Deckard Cain oiled up to the caption, "Stay awhile and glisten." It makes me mildly sad :(

Remarkably helpful sounding description, though. Promise of lots of spare parts, plenty of up-front warning about issues, breakdown of potential costs, etc. Everything else aside that's like an A-grade selling blurb for small scale second hand mecha.

260 chapters in, legendary mechanic finally explains what the hell a shanu is!

It's apparently people born with conditionally glowing stripes on their body. Natural sci-fi tattoos, basically. So the main planet stuff is happening on has white, black, yellow, and random glowy tattoo people. Three colors and a shanu. Now I know.

Also the tats seem to be able to turn some of them into twelve foot tall combat giants. A'ight.

Spelling on shanu is impressively inconsistent, though. The people name or whatever it is (like Caucasian or whatev') is Shanuk! Sometimes! The more you know *rainbow*

Huh. Flywrench is an amazingly kinetic game. Design is actually kinda' incredible in some ways. Folks wanting to figure out how to make motion look like it has impact and weight should probably scope it out.

It also looks like it's fucking miserable to actually play. Treat to watch, though. Sound design seriously matches it, too. Wtf comes mostly from the dissonance of 'this looks awesome' and 'this would make me want to maim someone rather than play through' thing going on.

Re: military aid withholding, all you can really try to argue is that more nebulous 'corruption' didn't mean specifically this stuff related to trump trying to bludgeon a foreign country into investigating a political rival (though if you actually believe that, I have a folder full of bridges we probably need to discuss). Corruption being the reason behind the delay of assistance is something trump himself has explicitly stated, apparently more than once. And now we have an example of exactly what that meant.

It's mildly interesting that even some GOP critters that have seen the complaint et al (i.e. not the pared down memo people seem to be calling a transcript) are basically going, "Well... shit." though.

In related news of incompetence, the white house apparently emailed the house democrats their list of talking points on the ukraine call. Oops.

Yeah, that's fairly unlikely. Only option for specific vendors, maybe -- I could see nintendo or some shit doing away with physical items and anything on the console's HD or somethin' -- but there's pretty much always going to be a market for things that ain't like that, if for no other reason than that huge chunks of the world have spotty internet access. Online only isn't an option for enough folks that providing the option for something else is long going to be on the table.

That... should be the first, tho'. They're trying to break into a platform where you just have like... a browser or something, on your end. Basically just video and some input. And everything else is ran on some server somewhere. Sorta' like the next step from MMOs or whatever, where instead of most or a lot of stuff being ran server side basically gorram everything is and your computer's more or less just a TV screen.

So far as them being the only one to despise it, no. No, they're not the only one to despise it. There's a decent sized group of screeching rage monkeys pissed by it, for reasons varied. Personally kinda' ambivalent -- it's just about guaranteed I'd never personally use such a service, so on that front it's just kinda' 'eh'. If people want to use it then... okay. Somewhat leery about companies taking licencing bullshit to the next logical extreme, though. All the persistence flaws of MMOs, spreading like cancer to everything else. Necessarily online-only is eternally iffy.

Either the plot hook, or something about the character design, generally, for myself. I stuck with the... testament of sister new devil, apparently... manga for a while mostly because some of the characters (mostly the loli succubus, but eh) made some pretty amusing faces, ferex. Then sometimes you run into something like Sora no Otoshimono or Nana to Kaoru and, like... it's okay. Occasionally I'll check something pervy out just to see how the writer's doing it -- what they're showing, what they're censoring, etc. It can be fun to check out what tricks they're turning playing on the presentation front. i think my favorite is still speech balloons with nipples, tbh, though hunter x hunter's rising text balloon was damnably effective

Metaphorical thirst doesn't generally play much into it, though. If I want porn I'll just... go scope porn. No need for psuedo-softcore when everything's basically equally accessible.

I don't have much confidence in Biden really.

Really the only thing going for him is that he was buddies with Obama.
Eh, the policy planks he's running with generally aren't particularly horrible, for what that's worth. He's also running on the dem ticket, and probably wouldn't shirk congressional/base pressure much or at all, so, like... barring senility issues or something a biden presidency probably wouldn't be a complete disaster. Congress might be able to get some good stuff through, especially if filibuster nuking gets more support and gets done. Likely not sufficient on some fronts relative to their size and urgency, but it wouldn't be GOP. Barring some kind of republican shutdown of the house or senate, we'd be pretty sure to see gains on a fair number of fronts -- environment, civil spending, his stated position on a bunch of stuff is... okay. Not as good as the other two in play in many ways, but it's no trump and not a GOP policy drive (i.e. fuck all of us). Just a 70+ year old near literally dead center of the pack career democrat.

None of that's particularly unique to biden, though, and he shares problems with sanders on aisle reaching and whatnot, so... yeah. Also got the whole shambling geriatric corpse thing going on, now with eye explosion and detachable teeth action. He used to be a fairly sharp debater and pretty strong on some other related skillsets, iirc, but that was like... a decade ago or somethin'. Now, less so.

... I don't have much confidence in biden either, honestly. Or sanders. Or... most of the field, really. M'kinda' resigned to voting warren in the primary and then whatever isn't GOP in the general. She's got solid policy chops and could probably get a hell of a lot done if elected (likely more than either B-guy), but less sure how the election itself'll play out. Still going to be probably three or four cycles until the next generation or so starts taking over, sadly. It kinda' literally can't come fast enough considering how increasingly militant us younger folks are getting on the environmental issues we're already probably too late to stop :-\

Every bad day has to end eventually, right? Strength to you.
Sadly, the bad days ending isn't actually a guarantee :-\

... not to trying undermine the rest of what you said. You keep going, et al. But... you do sorta' have to deal with the possibility that the snake eyes just never really stop rolling. Sometimes life's just kinda' shit and nothing you do or can do (or are willing to do) is going to help. You can hope for outside assistance, but there's not really anyone or anything obligated to give it. Best option to me's always been to just... make sure you have your small, day to day, pleasures, and just live in them as much as you can while surviving. Life's not particularly good, but you get by for a while longer. Adjust your desires accordingly low, more or less.

Though that may just be the screaming agony I've been waking up with lately talking, I'unno. Spring mattresses are the fucking devil. Worst part is that the actions needed to be taken to replace the thing is being impeded by said screaming agony. Hard to clean up when bending over is like a chainsaw taken to your spine, bleh.
