Evolving's narrow biological sense doesn't involve purpose, is most of the iffy bit, heh. It's just noise thrown against a wall with some parts sticking and some not. There's nothing to trust, just stuff to adjust to (or die).

And I don't think it's a matter of deserve, exactly. There's precious few on this planet that'll outright say, or believe, that the elderly (or much of anyone, really, barring maybe some nebulous bad people grouping) deserve to starve to death in a pile of their own filth as they fritter away whatever material goods or safety they may have accumulated due to their mind aging into a stew of incapable mush.

Stuff like pensions are more an acknowledgement that a people are just kinda' fucking bad at the planning and logistics involved with making that not happen, especially in edge cases where family is incapable or unwilling to provide and/or the increasingly non-edge case where the old person lives way longer than expected (for lack of a better word). Damnably often not nearly a sufficient one, but... it's not something I'd categorize as a profound distrust. Just an attempt to paper over a persistent problem. Distrust is probably pretty close to it as a descriptor, but there's nothing profound (or major, or whatever) about it. S'just kinda' routine.

It's not just pensions, mind. Every sort of elderly assistance/retirement program is basically the same thing, with varying levels of effectiveness. Folks aren't going to be able to provide for themselves forever, and someone's gonna' have to (or eventually deal with a corpsemess, I guess).

That's, uh. Pretty impressive, in a way. Iirc several of the scenarios aren't terribly rough. Want to say the mammoth/cave people, ninja, or super robot ones are easier starts? Gods it's been a long time since I played that.

Just had a 13-14% chance trigger on me about seven, eight times in a row. Playing terraria, say to myself, okay, bathroom just as soon as I finish converting all this orichalcum to mythril (mods, don't question it). Get down to last piece of orichalcum, 13-14ish % chance to conserve material one of the other mods has going promptly triggers. And triggers. And again, and again, and again, several times sequentially.

Today I have learned that gastric distress is the secret to probability manipulation.

No? Distrust isn't the right word. Acknowledgement that society's structures pointedly fail on some issues, more like. Not sure evolution's the right word, either, really. Y'mght want to unpack that question, heh.

It's definitely randomized. Can I just say I appreciate that event4 takes you to a page 404, though? I don't know how intentional it was, but it's good play regardless.

I... I know the filter on steam content is real loose, but would a CoC sequel even be allowed on the platform (especially without being heavily censored)?

A. Seems neat.

B. Watching people play it is apparently mildly infuriating. It took like one or two fights of observation to realize play order is like super important and six or seven more the folks I scoped were still basically friggin' ignoring it. *vaguely insulting muttering noises*

Different people cry from different things.
They totally do, but I usually spot the likelihood to some degree, far as I've noticed. It's entirely possible it's just been long enough I don't remember the material well, or that the anime tugs different strings, s'just as far as I remember the manga it didn't present on that dimension much or at all. More absurdity/humor, iirc, with most unfortunate bits of the situations downplayed or played off. Ain't  nothing wrong with it or anythin', just a bit of a surprise to me.

W... wait, what? The World Only God Knows is making you cry? The one where some dude that excessively played dating sims gets jacked by weird shit?

Is the anime significantly different from the manga or somethin'? Tear-jerker is, uh. Not how I'd classify that at all.

Make them play online multiplayer games and use complete sentences and whatnot. It's basically what taught me proper english, back in middle/high school. Bloody Infantry did most of the work of me passing my eventual english classes.

But no, rhetoric might (but only might, since most conversation doesn't really involve significant rhetorical leveraging) help some but formal logic is frankly fucking useless for interpersonal communication or improving your abilities at it, from what I've experienced. I like it plenty for other reasons but it ain't gon' do shit to help you talk to a co-worker, boss, customer, or paperwork person, or even much to any good in writing stuff to publish or somethin'.

If you want to teach communication, have people communicate and show them how to do it without massively screwing something up in the process. How to make an apology and why the individual parts work like they do, how to identify (and avoid unnecessary) confrontational language, so on, so forth. If basic english is talk, advanced english is talk gud. Professional authorial work or whatever would probably be some kind of branch degree or somethin'.

For whatever reason, I feel compelled to do a 100% run (and maybe even do an ill-fated let's play on Other Games) of an Elder Scrolls game. Probably Morrowind since it's the only one I got installed and I got no internet outside my phone since I am moving (yay).

But damn I am a masochistic idiot.

Does that include stealing 100% of the brooms?
Stealing approximately 100% of the lights is like my default morrowind run, tbh. Sometimes I'll get around to just friggin' festooning some building or another in lamps, but mostly it's just so I have an excuse to mutter "I am the THIEF OF LIGHT" to myself regularly. Good times.

Quote from: Monster Pet Evolution, chapter 162
In the evening, Gao Peng was busy cooking in the kitchen.

He opened the fridge. A lot of vegetables and meat were in there, but no bones. Da Zi crawled over childishly, raising its tail and head and staring at its master. Gao Peng noticed it and turned around, only to see Da Zi giving him a pitiful look.

“What’s wrong?”

“Eat, eat pork ribs!” Da Zi excitedly waved both its claws.

“There are no pork ribs left at home,” Gao Peng said helplessly.

“Eat. Eat!” Da Zi did not give up. It moved in circles anxiously, making it look just like a purple donut.

“How? Do you think I can create pork ribs out of thin air?!” Gao Peng said without any restraint.

Da Zi was a little sad. Both the antennas on its head drooped downwards weakly.

Suddenly, Da Zi thought of something. It sneakily glanced towards the unnoticing Dumby…

Da Zi’s action attracted the attention of Gao Peng. “What are you looking at?”

Gao Peng looked in the direction Da Zi was staring. His hand movements slowed as he saw Dumby seated on the sofa, watching TV without noticing anything. A blue flame floated and burned quietly in the empty skull.

After that, Gao Peng lowered his head and locked gazes with Da Zi. A man and a beast, weird emotion filling their eyes.

“Come here. Dumby, come here.” Gao Peng kept urging Dumby from the kitchen.

Dumby went to the kitchen as Gao Peng tricked it.

A huge pot was in the kitchen. Boiling water filled the pot, and in the water were onion, ginger, garlic, wolfberry, angelica, and various spices.

Is this something the master prepared for me? Dumby was slightly excited, even a little bit grateful. Although I am just a skeleton, and I cannot eat anything, the master still did not forget me!

“Dumby, come here. I’ll help you wash your hand.” Gao Peng called Dumby over to the sink. He rubbed Dumby’s bones gently to clean off the dirt on them. The grey and silver bones seemed to be shining.

Dumby watched the scene unfold in silence. Warmth filled its heart. Although its bones were cold and its soul flame did not have any heat, its mind burned fiercely.

Master looks so cool when he’s serious!

Dumby swore in its heart, Master, I will definitely protect… Eh? Master, why are you pulling me?

Dumby did not understand why it was tugged over to the side of the pot.

“Dumby, come here and test the temperature of the water,” Gao Peng said to Dumby.

Dumby nodded and put both its hands inside the pot without any hesitation. At the same time, Gao Peng observed Dumby anxiously; if Dumby showed any sign of not adapting, he would immediately lift Dumby’s hands.

However, it looked like the temperature at this level was nothing to Dumby, and Dumby did not express any discomfort. On the contrary, it seemed to think the experience was interesting.

As time passed, the soup in the pot gradually began to give off a pleasant fragrance.

Da Zi raised its head excitedly, shaking its head in joy.

After half an hour, the pot of soup was finally ready.

In the living room, Da Zi licked the soup happily while Dumby stood quietly in the corner and leaned on the wall. They… As long as they like it.

Yeh. Two part deal, actually. Reach heaven does some damage and shuffles through violence into your draw pile. Through violence was a 20 damage 0 cost exhaust, last I saw it. On a character that can potentially triple its damage for a turn, heh.

... okay, are you screwing with people or something? As near as I can tell carson didn't resign, and somehow managed to weasel out of at-least-the-most-recent ethics violation.

Huh. Just noticed slay the spire's creator has explicitly acknowledged the reach heaven/through violence card is a kill six billion demons reference. Apparently they're actually a fan.

... I guess it's not that outlandish, really. KSBD's pretty well known. Next thing I know it'll be oglaf references or something, somewhere odd. I still get a bit of a chuckle at the Devil Went Down to Georgia nod in one of the Avernum games...
