Or at least consign it to producing things the AI couldn't.

Which, uh. Mission accomplished?

The original Chewbacca has died.

Most commercial ads have done nothing for me... but ads for, say, web serials or FOSS games or somethin' has occasionally earned a click. It's all about dat interest -- and there not being a pricetag involved, and not in the bullshit way a lot of more commerical "free" offers roll with. Stuff aiming to generate interest more than profit margin, basically.

It's pretty much strictly been limited to occasional banner ads, though. Presumably anyone not running for profit can't afford much else ad wise, heh.

This isn't exactly surprising, but this kind of thing is rarely not disconcerting: my lecturer in chaos theory is definitely extremely qualified for the job. What with having authored or co-authored... most of the leading papers in chaos detection, as far as I can tell.
... wait, why is that disconcerting? Are they a terrible lecturer or something? Usually finding out something like that is pretty awesome, not off-putting or summat.

actually your will can't have weird stuff to do with your body in it you get the normal options and "donate to science" where it might be weird but you don't know and anything else is probably illegal
Your will can have literally anything in it, but your family/whoever you're leaving stuff to isn't sueably obligated to do anything in it unless they signed a contract before your death.

So the proper method would be something like setting up a little organization that you leave everything to, including your skeleton and orders on what to do with it, and to only give the rest of the estate to your family once they're done.
You know that. I know that. Would the surviving family know that, is the question. Secondary question being if you can hire a lawyer good enough and dedicated enough to bamboozle them into not knowing :V

And yet somehow the live action Sonic thing is creepier.

Also I can totally see the will potentially involved there.

"To my beloved family,

In accordance to my wishes, the remainder of my estate is to be used as follows: My skeleton will be removed and used as the basis of a Sally Acorn sex doll. Once completed, the device will be auctioned off, with all proceeds to be given to charity.

Bests regards,
<Deceased's Name>

P.S. There is a trust set up to sue you all if you don't, and money set aside to report on all of it and ensure the family name is associated with this for the next several generations. Fuck all of you <3"

Dunno? The trailer shows some signs of fairly clear reference to the games. That might not mean they actually played one, or that anyone calling the shots paid any attention to the people that did (or that said people spoke up to begin with), or that they played anything except, like. One of the terrible ones. Or whatever sundry list you could keep making.

Honestly, it's fairly staggeringly unlikely that nobody making the thing played. Hitman is relatively niche in comparison. Sonic games have been being made since I was a kid and fairly well known/experienced throughout the intervening years. You'd have to actively work to avoid hiring anybody that had exposure. Hell, there's probably folks involved familiar with the supporting materials -- comics, TV series, etc. That just doesn't mean they had much input, or cared enough to mitigate... that... even if they did.

Sounds good to me :V

What part of "It's clearly not Ivo Robotnik" is hard to parse? IMDB is wrong and if the movie makers are claiming otherwise they're heathen liars. Eggman only comes in one shape and that shape is egg. Skinny Robotnik can only be cousin Jim. Maybe it's crazy cousin Jim and he thinks he's his better relative, who knows. The Robotnik line probably isn't the most stable.

It's more or less the angle barr is trying to roll with, yes. If you were expecting much respect for the law from someone with barr's history I'm not sure what to tell you.

It's relatively irrelevant who, if anyone, else does, considering it's straight up bullshit.

4978
It's clearly not Ivo Robotnik, nor the Eggman, so Robotnik's inbred cousin Jim probably fits better anyway.

I dunno. What if they gave her pants in order to deal with the salaciousness of vest+nothing?

... wait a tick, they've apparently already done that with newer stuff. Burn the world, I say. Burn it all.

As a general thing... well, I've met them, but they're the same sort of people that willingly watch (and worse, buy things from) infomercials. So there's some out there. Mostly older, it feels.

Even those folks don't hold that outlook on every ad, though. It's conditional (on more than just ad subject, whether or not they have ad producing whatever on for anything except noise also has an effect), basically.

Most people, I think, are like Arx, though. If they haven't gone out of their way to excise advertising from their media consumption entirely, anyway.
