Other Games / Re: Knights of the Chalice 2.

I can't really say for 2 what with it not being out, but the first was a crunchy, sprite based, mostly dungeon crawl hack and slash party thing. Sorta' nostalgic for stuff like the old dark sun games, just... newer, less buggy, etc. Didn't try to get too fancy or go beyond what it was setting out to do and did so pretty competently for the amount of people working on it, so on, so forth. The weapon enchanting was nice, heh.

Basically it was a pretty solid, scope limited (in a good way), non-fancy-graphics combat focused CRPG, harkening back to older games that were done fairly well. Nice stuff, maybe not super ground breaking or summat but definitely capable of scratching a specific sort of itch. 2 is supposed to largely be that, but more.

E: Though looking at the screenshots for the first time in a while, that's definitely changed quite a bit, heh. Still. Crunchy, combat heavy, D&D derived mechanics, lots of classes and whatnot. It's another riff on the D&D game concept, but it's not like that's necessarily a bad thing.

Aw hell, I've been waiting for news of that thing. Pretty certainly going to be the second or third thing I've kickstarted, if that's the route the dev's going. Loved the first one to bits for what it was, and a sequel with more everything is right up my alley.

It's not really gun control you'd be talking about in this case, anyway. Fucker livestreamed this shit and made it blatantly clear why they were doing it. You're seeing a case of stochastic terrorism going hot.

Like... if not out the box then since apocalypse at least? Flying suits were a thing.

As for everything else you mention, that falls under the category of "making use of the resource".
There really is kinda' a hell of a difference between trying to cobble those resources together yourself (especially in the face of paywalls of various sorts), and having access to a pre-cobbled pile of resources, be they teachers, academic libraries, centralized piles of like-minded individuals, or whatever, though. Those school things, basically.

E: Like, there's a difference between "better than any point in history" and "actually good", y'know? Previous years being horrible fuckmorasses of academic pain for most people doesn't mean we're out of the metaphorical fornicaswamp.

Second ref vote got shot down, probably increasing the likelihood an extension request is rejected. What seems to be the current options for UK: No deal in the face of yesterday's vote, general election and pray the EU grants an extension for it, revoking A50, accept whatever deal the EU feels like giving at the last minute. The clusterfuck continues to fuck clusterly.

Less waifu, more old school schlock sci-fi, complete with tits hanging out everywhere. What I've seen kinda' reminds me of Heavy Metal Magazine, for a reference point.

Work might be starting to get to me. Just looked at a cassette tape in passing and my eyes immediately focused in on the ISBN that was showing. no brain you're not cataloging the tape the library doesn't even keep those things anymore what are you doing

I've noticed some banging about that at least one nation (Italy, iirc?) is intending to veto an extension request pretty much regardless, too, heh. If the no no-deal was legally binding, we'd probably be looking at a default to revocation if that happened.

... also noticed a leaver or two come out saying they deserve a revoke at this point. Years of incompetent clusterfuck isn't exactly the best showing, I guess.

Small qualifiers:

1) It's the 737 MAX, not just 737's in general.

2) The US only has, like, 60 of them.

3) They've been in the air since October 2017, not "years".

4) Official reports have not come out on either crash, so concluding that "there is absolutely no evidence that these crashes were related in any way to the hardware or software of the plane" is unsubstantiated. The FAA disagrees that it's not software related- both crash patterns indicate that the plane's software attempted to avert a stall due to bad inputs, causing them to nosedive.
Also, the "several countries" seem to be
Spoiler: these folks (click to show/hide)

Forty and a bit different countries. If it's an overreaction, it's certainly a wide spread one, heh.

E: Also hey, apparently manafort's up to about 7 and a half years with the second sentencing bout... and New York just hit him with indictments for something like sixteen assorted state level felonies. At this rate he might actually end up with as much time as they occasionally hit poor people with for janking a few hundred bucks.

Well, and the dlcs. Plenty of add-on classes and whatnot if you don't want what they offer, though.

Yeah, far as I've been able to pick up UK's sovereignty was functionally untouched, barely impacted thanks to all the exceptions it had and often what little was left after that shit they would have been stupid not to do anyway. Most/all of the arguments put forth for brexit were based on ignorance at best, active misinformation and/or open (self-destructive) xenophobia at worst. Continuation of a long media history in the UK of shitting on the EU even (especially) when there was nothing to shit on, to a notable extent.

So far as personal, ground level effects it's going to be nothing but negatives for the majority of the population. It'll mean more nuisance, weaker economy, and so on. Depending on how bad it gets (particularly vis a vis medical supply) the "actual meaning" could go as far as "you get to die because your leadership fucked up the supply chains". Little guy gon' get fucked so the vulture capitalists can make bank and the xenophobes can have their day in the sun.

If you mean biologically, it just happens to be the dominant system that evolved. Theres certainly a few other systems out there, like some fungi for example.
There's also a good few that actually are straight up capable of changing sex under the right circumstances, iirc. The first rule of (non-micro) biology club is fuck your heuristics, I do what random mutation hasn't stopped me from doing hard enough.
