General Discussion / Re: KILL SIX BILLION DEMONS Discussion Thread

Ah, alright. The link saying something about Solomon's backstory went to discount kefka so I figured that was Solomon, but apparently not. I'd say good to know but I really should just... catch up, heh.

'Where he first shows up at'? You mean back in Chapter One at the conclave?
eh, showed up proper, I guess. There might have been something early but I don't recall seeing senor star earrings before.

Ki Rata.

I like the background lore of Ki Rata because it's basically the martial arts equivalent to a weapon of mass destruction. Those who have mastered it refuse to use it for any reason other than preventing anyone else from using it.
*peeks at link* *looks back a couple pages* K... kefka? Is that you?

Oh, that's that Solomon thing. Still haven't gotten around to catching up to wherever he first shows up at... but man, at first glance he could totally be a slumming kefka.

Yeah, calling Mitch, of all the ratfuckers the GOP has spawned, a vigilant member of the legislature intent on safeguarding congress's agency is sacasm thick enough it'd take a chainsaw to cut through. We're like, currently, this very day, watching him do the opposite of that in his continued campaign to fellate trump.

In other news, the shitgibbon has already openly admitted there's no emergency and he's only doing this out of impatience. It's a hell of a thing seeing someone fornicate their legal foundation that rapidly.

Pulsivar wasn't entirely sure of the particulars of this situation or whose fault it was, (definitely not his though,) but he was pretty godsdamned sure of two things;

One was that he was stuck in this workshop until his hoomin came back, so he couldn't escape.

Two was that he'd just seen that teddy bear straight up murder a fucker.

General Discussion / Re: Ultimate Poll of Bay12 Pizza Toppings!

Those are probably still top of the list in most places (english speaking, at the absolute least), I think. There's definitely been an expansion in cultural norms regarding commonly appropriate toppings over the last decade or two, though, chicken among them.

Oddly enough, pizza's like the one thing I can stand ranch dressing on, and that specifically because I tried some chicken and ranch topped pizza (hungry howies) and it was pretty great. But yeah, sausage, pepperoni, bacon, canadian bacon, chicken, some fish, hamburger... think that most of the normative meat toppings. Don't seem to see turkey very often (mind, it works just fine; I put honey turkey on the pizza I eat on home pretty regularly), though.

Seems like they've finally called it for Opportunity. Godspeed, little robot.

Quote from: Mother of Learning, chapter 11
“We’re going to train your ability to sense mana,” said Xvim. “You’re going to put the blindfold on, and then I’m going to throw these mana-charged marbles at you.”

Zorian stared at the man incredulously. Had he really heard him right?

That, mostly. It's not been terribly difficult to get a cat to not maul furniture, in my experience. Give other things, do normal cat startling things (water, loud noises) if they go after the valuable stuff.

My family had a couple declawed cats at one point, got them from folks that couldn't care for 'em anymore. They were... kinda' pathetic, honestly. Like, they were sweet enough felines but they lose something when the claws are removed :-\

Older games seem better about that. Fallout 2 and Xcom can be all sorts of modded, because they're actually installed on your HD. Newer games are partly loaded online as a form of DRM, and assume you're cheating if you have mods (which, who cares in single-player games) and refuse to load.
I mean. That depends a hell of a lot on the game. There's plenty of stuff (as far as I'm aware like the majority of stuff, for that matter) made in the last few years that... don't... do that.

If for no other reason than not to have to dick around with netcode and maintaining servers, heh.

1 minute ago I was going to the bathroom and a mouse fell on the back of my neck, in the dark. How the f. did that happen? Freaked me the hell out but I'm glad it was a mammal and not some insectoid monstrosity.
It's okay. It was an insectoid monstrosity wearing a mouse skin suit. Best of both worlds!

Eh, it's certainly not due to steam integration -- you can have that from the get go and still have a game that's pretty much entirely open to messing with. If the dev wants it to be. Even workshop integration can still allow for other modding venues (hell, from what I understand most games that have workshop integration still allow modding through other means, it's just the workshop functions as a straightforward mod manager and distribution site). It's as restrictive as the creators want it to be, basically.

... I'd been under the impression no FfH level mods popped up for five and six just because no one liked them enough to put the effort in, heh. There's also the difference in graphics, too, iirc. You pretty much always get less modding as games get prettier, just due to the problems that multiply in terms of creating new content that doesn't look like complete ass relative to vanilla stuff.

Alright but we should rename the North American continent into America Major

I feel rather minor TBH
Nah, it's larger by land area if I'm not wildly misremembering. It (or something of similar intent) would actually probably be a pretty good idea at some point in the near-ish future. We're probably coming up on a magnetic flip in the next millennia or three and it'd be a decent way to future proof our geography. No need to confuse the chillins when the compass starts pointing towards south america...

I'm pretty sure Canada is the Canada of America, actually.
