I look at that thing and think cheerful thoughts about an upswing in metal plated climbing gloves among incoming refugees, heh.

... yeah, I'unno, deterrents might actually be murder under some circumstances. I'm thinking trapping a home, ferex. Even if you announce it the shit's mostly illegal and I seem to recall people having legal culpability for harm incurred through them. Roughly similar intent. If you're going out of your way to make something deadly (e.g. fuckoff spikes on top a fence) it's kinda' on you when mission accomplished happens.

Never mind the rest of the issues like actual asylum claims, the fact many/most undocumented folks enter by standard channels, the gross stupidity and wastefulness of a fucking wall, etc., etc., etc.

Terraria. Terraria mods. Design is a choice, a choice you both seem to keep making. Why do I keep finding myself idly wondering why my character has glowing nipples.

I can't quite figure out if it's intentional or they just somehow missed that dye interaction when stuff was getting tested...

EDIT: Also I will probably stop being stupid like I used to be and copy dialogues from an online script of the game instead of transcribing everything manually like a maniac.

Wait, that's a thing?! Well, I guess I can find solace in that Age of Decadence probably doesn't (or didn't) have an online script up. I still feel like I did my whole LP wrong now, though.
Yeah, it's a thing. Saves a lot of time and effort you could be spending doing something else, like making the LP more <whatever>.

It's not necessarily doing it wrong to not, but... it's definitely doing more work.

... and yeah, sometimes there's no online script. Intrepid LPers delve the game data one way or another when that happens. Often enough you'll be lucky and the text will be easily human readable somewhere in the thing's code, and in a format that takes less effort to fix than manually transcribing everything would.

Arsemonger?

What are pants, if not mongers of arses?

Oh hey, thought that sounded familiar. It's also on android, where the controls are about as good as you can expect a tablet/mobile ARPG to be.

... which is to say playing the game is pretty sodding unpleasant, sadly. Good to hear the PC version handles better.

Give it a few more years and it will be. If no one's running it, it cannot crash.

Uh... yeah, as much as I'd sorta' like to, you can't really blame someone for not being terribly secure regarding software they haven't supported for like... years. On an OS they haven't supported for roughly the same amount of time.

... well, kudos to that one. Think it's the most orientation/gender ambiguous one yet.

... welp, as asspulls go that was one of the more out there I've encountered in a while. Protag ends up in dire straits, cornered underground by someone casually kicking his ass around. Out of fucking nowhere rando hobo that got like one line of mention a bit earlier walks out of a goddamn lava pool. Apparently he was just chillin' in 500+ degree molten rock because ???

No, seriously, the old hobo fuck -- naturally an even more powerful shitkicker than the guy that was shitkicking the MC -- was lounging around in a lava pool apparently just for shits and giggles. Forget chekov's shota pegging now we have chekov's half-senile hobo god lava bath.

... I'm going to keep reading, 'cause if I got through colossal shitpiles like long live summons I can get through castle of black iron, but... seriously. I can't tell if this is laziness, incompetence, or intoxication. "Ah ha, I shall solve the corner I've written myself into by having a homeless geriatric crawl out of the pool of superheated lava! Genius!"

Eh, depending on what you mean by floor bubble it might not be that bad. I've been hallucinating 24/7 for more than three decades now, though it took better than one of them to realize what was causing the effect and that it wasn't normal. One of the reasons I've never been particularly enticed by hallucinogens, heh. Dunnae need nae help.

I'm told visual snow can be unpleasant when it onsets (and, more to the point, most of the things that seem capable of doing that are themselves pretty unpleasant), but if it's just been there forever and always you kinda' learn to appreciate the pretty colors and not get distracted (much).

I'd guess it'd be something similar for someone that developed persistent hallucinations, after a while. It's probably different when you can remember a time it wasn't happening, I'unno.

Like. I read a lot of pretty shitty writing. Fairly inured to it, s'endemic to (free) writing in general and punch magic stuff specifically. But... sometimes. Sometimes it gets to me.

This time. I read a paragraph long spiel about how the protag has spent relatively large amounts of effort learning to use a bow. Promptly thereafter we're informed that. He has no bow. He didn't have the money to get a bow previously (previously being a period of months, years). They don't really sell bows to begin with where he's at, despite his paragraph long spiel studded with bits about how bows are pretty awesome for what his world has to deal with. He doesn't know how to make bows.

Who knows how much time spent training to use a bow, when. No bow. No bow access. No bow market. No personal bow manufacturing capability. Somebody didn't think this archery thing through.

You get this painful impression that either the main character is an idiot or the author is. Or both. Both is as possible as this twit's bows were lacking.

... any case it's apparently titled Super God Gene. I'm subtitling it like much of comments seem to be: The Story of the Idiot that Didn't Promptly Eat the MacGuffin!Rock.

Right now, it's basically in the Dem's best interest to keep the government shutdown going as long as possible. So long as 100% of the fallout is landing squarely on Donald Trump's shoulders, I would not expect Dems to compromise a single inch. And we all know that Trump is incapable of admitting when he's wrong.
That's really not a tenable strategy in the long term. Sure, it makes sense politically, but at some point the pain is going to be so much that the base is going to push for a resolution to it. It really just comes down to who caves first.
Problem there is that at this point the dem base kinda' fucking loathes the rank stupidity, among a host of other pejoratives applicable to it, of a border wall.

Dems are perfectly willing to push for a resolution... but it's not going to include the architectural equivalent of an impotent gold plated dick unless there's some fucking major concessions given for it. Their base would tear out their hide without that, and quite possibly with it, too. There's not really any tenable long term strategy that includes capitulating on that particular bit of fucknuttery.

Demo discs were fun, but more the old PC ones that had like a hundred demos on them. Only half might work but by gods that half let you really feel sturgeon's law on a visceral level.

They stand (well, lay cracked and non-functioning these days, probably, but whatever) as testament that no, no games weren't better back in the old days :P
