Genderfluid Jesus has the alliteration going for it, for what that's worth.

From what I'm aware, there's more than a few movements out there that conceptualize the christian god as non-binary/non-masculine/something-other-than-the-traditional-male-skyjackass, but it's much less common for anything particularly serious to give ol' streaker J the treatment. So, I mean. If you really want to give it a shot, there's probably market share available. Something something unexploited niche something.

Exception there being the massive swath of racist horseshit that historically informed the creation and especially enforcement of our drug laws, and still very, very strongly influences them. That stuff gets much less permissive when it's the wrong sort of people using or producing it, regardless as to if the business involved is (or was, up until criminalization) legitimate and profitable or not.

It's a fucking nasty morass of interaction between capitalist greed and lingering bigotry, basically. Largely better than it was a few decades ago, but as with a lot of things, that still leaves the new bar being cleared somewhere deep underground :-\

Pretty difficult to do Jewish-style penile circumcision in that case.
Intersex folks exist, so while difficult, it wouldn't be impossible.

Clearly the child of god could thread that particular needle, skyfucker built that into people anyway, so why not the messiah, too?

From what I could tell from a quick check, AE isn't actually the kid's legal name -- that name's actually illegal/invalid in cali, where the poor bastard was born. Apparently they basically put a placeholder in lieu of the name on the actual documentation, so the kid's legal designation right now is, like, a line of dashes or something. They'll have to get it changed if they want a driver's license or SSN or whatever, but considering the parent they may just never actually need it.

Any case, near as I can tell there's not any federal level legislation on naming in the US, it's all state level, so what exactly passes muster is going to change from location to location.

But yeah, if that looks and sounds like Elon is fucking over his kid on a lark, well. Yes. That's exactly what's happening. Him being an idiot potentially making a child's life harder in the future.

Well... half-way good on ohio. Hopefully they take it the rest of the way.

... in less good news, there's over four dozen dead due to wildfires in maui, at least one town basically entirely wiped off the map. It's pretty rough over there, what firefighting capacity they have has apparently been consistently overwhelmed for something like a few days.

Today was good results. Boil-in-bag brown rice, seasoned with curry powder and black pepper about half way through the cooking, then two patties worth of crumbled up hamburger, seasoned with my normal chili powder/paprika/pepper mix and a bit of cane syrup, a bit of butter, some bacon bits, and a couple slices of shredded-ish swiss cheese added to the rice once it was cooked. Took maybe 15-ish minutes to cook, probably less than 700 mg of sodium between the lot of it (cheese and meat was around 400-ish, bacon bits would add less than 200, nada in the rice or seasonings or syrup).

Tasty, filling, fairly cheap (meat and cheese the worst of it, of course), quick, not incredibly terrible for you... is good. Do beef and rice fairly often 'cause it's easy, but this is the first time in a while I've added seasoning while the rice was still boiling and actually went through the effort of putting in swiss instead of the pre-shredded (saltier) stuff I got. Worth the lil'bit of extra effort, heh.

Yeah, that's rough. Hopefully things'll calm down :-\

Though... I guess if you want a bright side, maybe it says your org's doing something right if they thought it'd be safe to be at or go to your location? Just sucks they're not going/able to go somewhere better equipped for that kind of thing.

... didn't I see comment elsewhere you were working library, too, FD? I mostly manage to avoid dealing with the actual public these days, but... still. I can only imagine what used to be behind that post :V

Unless, of course, someone would convincingly demonstrate that vast swarms of bobblehead bots and shills:
1. …did in fact generate revenue,
2. …better than actual living users.
Actually, it would be morbidly hilarious if so. But this cannot be taken for granted at all.
Until then, the decision to bury Twitter brand and just use servers for the original purpose does not appear necessarily ruinous.
Twitter was actually starting to fairly consistently post profitable financial periods, iirc... before musk lmao'd his way into being forced to cash the check his mouth wrote, and then promptly kicked over the jenga tower that had finally started to figure out making money as a social media platform.

Since then it's lost tens of billions of dollars worth of evaluation and its profits have tanked into the dirt, if I'm not misremembering :V

If that's not ruinous, it's something cosplaying a remarkable rendition of it, heh.

Might not be hidden, HRT is a young therapy so could just be that there aren't institutions in your area with that info yet
It's... been around for about a half a century, and used pretty regularly for better than twenty years. Not sure if young is the right word for that.

When you're starting to contemplate chucking a molotov at the garbage truck, it's probably time to start trying to figure out if there's a less violent way to get their pickup schedule changed.

It'd be real nice if those fuckers would stop running at four in the goddamn morning, though. House isn't soundproof enough to deal with that shit :-\

Best thing about this gate we got to keep the dog out the room with the cat litter: The cat's preferred way to get over it is to wall jump. She bounces off the door frame to make the clear, heh.

I think I've commented on this before, but I don't think the drama itself is a property of open source development. Being able to see the drama largely is, though. Everything I'm aware of suggests closed source work is as bad or worse* on the drama front, it just tends to happen behind closed doors instead of among folks coordinating in more public spaces. We generally only hear about those kinds of messes in private development if someone ends up in court, heh.

E: Commercial/non-open source development often occurring in much, much worse conditions and having the whole money and formal hierarchies and whatnot involved can easily make the environment way, waaaay worse than you're likely to see develop and persist in open source work. It's well known a large amount of the software development industry, and especially gamedev, commonly has a toxic mess of a work environment. You can pretty much guarantee that kind of stress is causing massive drama issues somewhere along the line, heh. Folks working in both fields are wildly passionate with all the conflict that involves, but only one side is likely to be dealing with corporate :P
