It basically turns into yeasty brick at somewhere somewhat over a minute (1100 watt, high, non-frozen bread). Go much further beyond that and it variably charcoals or catches fire, depending on how poor your luck is, iirc. You can nuke bread but you rarely want to microwave it for very long.

Ah, low light conditions. That feeling when you take a closer look at that thing on the floor to see if the dog crapped on the floor... and the thing moves. it was a centipede, but I couldn't tell at first

"Divine chlorosadistic arousal fixation" are apparently words I strung together at some point. This post will be the second point it exists on the internet.

... I see why it's in my opera notes thing, now. Had totally forgotten where it came from, though, so it was definitely a WTF until senior google cleared it up.

Considering how things are going on that front I imagine it won't exactly be a duel, heh. Probably pretty hands on, though...

Flake doesn't particularly have either, though, near as anyone seems to be able to tell. Just looks like maybe this time he won't entirely live down to his name (note he still voted to kick the can down the road; he could have found an actual backbone and conscience and stopped the fucking mess in its tracks entirely). We'll know more if the investigation actually happens, and if anything comes of whatever they find.

Also that second bit isn't exactly a fair accusation. It can only really be painted that way if you're pointedly ignoring pretty much goddamn everything that's been noted as explaining why the timing has been like it's been. Sat on out of respect and the relatively tenuous (at the time) nature of the accusation, didn't explode until someone (and last I've noticed, people seem to be thinking it was someone going against internal decision-making) leaked the letter and ford decided to hardcore ruin her own life in the name of whatever it is in particular that's motivated her to come forward.

Worst accusation I've seen you could maybe stick on the dems' handling of things so far is possibly treating the general mess more as a political thing than giving ford's (and others') victimization the framing it deserves, and that still leaves them the only folks involved (outside ford and others that have came forward, probably) that seem physically capable of not being a massive pile of shit about both the particulars at hand and subject in general.

Yeeaaah. That shouldn't be happening unless there's something seriously wrong with the toaster. Normally you just... drop the bread in the provided slot. Put part away from hands in, then let go. If you're really confused just youtube for using a toaster or something, or find the manual or... whatever.

Point being it's not complicated and under no circumstances should you be getting shocked when putting the toast in.

Space battleship story RPG updated ~

... doesn't seem to add anything major major, but there's some (8? 9 if you count the arena) new stages and a few neat UI tweaks (filters for weapon lists, details on consort ship attacks, stuff like that). Might be a nice excuse to play it some more if it's been a while.

Yeah, it really, really is superior. Mario-verse jeanne alter is okay, too, though.

Minor point, most places waiters are paid minimum wage-ish, they just get to use tips to supplement it. Legally places that use a tip system are required to meet that minimum standard if the tips don't. Least last I checked. It's still pretty crap on a number of fronts, but it's probably a good idea to characterize it correctly. amusingly(?) there's actually been a few cases of restaurant workers unionizing in the last year or two that made it to the news, somewhere out west iirc

If you're looking for go-fuck-yourself deregulation on that front your better example is probably contract/temp work, where there actually are fairly widespread loopholes allowing for people to not get paid. Farmers are also kinda' shitty to talk about on that front, since they're basically fellated by the government when it comes to support. Discussion on the rest is also more complicated than "they're being ignored", since a damn lot of the problem on that front is "they're refusing actual solutions" when they're presented -- for years now dems have consistently been playing up the legitimate answers to the problems the groups mentioned are having, only to be told to sod off. Never mind you have fucking literally disenfranchised folks dems have been going to bat for, especially more recently.

Any case, personally I see discussion of union issues and worker's rights fairly often in left wing circles. Doesn't seem to hit major media particularly often 'cause FTFE, but it hasn't completely left the table so far as consideration goes. You see some discussion in right wing circles, too, really... just more as a stalking horse or scapegoat or whatev'.

Uh, note you're more looking at chance of violent death versus certainty of some sort of one; the current state of things doesn't even remotely guarantee you painless even when it's not violent.

Far as I'm aware many "peaceful" deaths still involve a lot of pain. Lot of people would give a lot of money, effort, and possibly lives just to get us the certainty of a painless death, never mind an outright choice in the matter.

I mean... not really. Whatever treatments for aging that pops up, not taking them is an option. As is euthanasia. It just means more of a choice of when (if) to go by way of peaceful senescence.

Y'know, now that I think about it, isn't "everyone dies alone" wrong in a statistical sense? The odds of there not being someone else dying at the same time you are is pretty staggeringly slim, even if you discount the whole "you're all dying a slow death by age" or whatever. When you die, someone else is probably dying with you.

Aye, I've done that before, too. Comparative shopping kinda' requires feet in the store without inclination towards purchase. Mind, I've just walked out without buying, too. Politeness bows to a thin bank account, some days.

... that said, old folks occasionally wander around like that regardless. Never have, like, asked why they do it, though. Probably never will, tbh. Vaguely or not so vaguely senile people wandering around generally isn't something you want to get involved with unless you got real strong reason to :-\

You can get used to the buzzing, really.

Extra fun is visual snow on top of it, though. There is no stillness, no silence. Lack is an illusion, movement reality. Quiet a myth, grinding of the air, truth.

Existence is the gentle susurration of visual cornucopia, ever hovering atop the unceasing music of the celestial spheres. Life is sound, emptiness and fullness both color writ eternal and evermoving. Only in death may there be an end, even that uncertain.

Say both options out loud, and then think for like two seconds.

If the answer to your question doesn't become obvious from this exercise, you may want to contact a hearing specialist and/or speech therapist.
