He's definitely not business savvy, though. He's fairly good at PR, tricking investors into doing stupid things, and swooping in and claiming credit for other people's efforts, but we have years of indication he's not, himself, particularly good at anything involving owning, running, or developing a business.

Twitter's just been an incredibly visible demonstration of that exacerbated by what looks to all appearances like a fairly nasty midlife crisis. Basically everything he's been involved in has functioned best when he stayed the hell out of the way and stuck to boondoggling investors.

One the other hand, from what I can tell from a similar check, "World earth government condemns half the planet's population to death" (access to the infrastructure built to survive the titular program is apparently only provided to half the world's population) is fairly straightforward?

It seems to mostly be a disaster movie rather than something with a dystopia focus, but even an idle skim suggests it has some pretty hefty dystopian elements, heh.

My family bought a new car which consumes electricity and I am going to buy a new Tesla when I was economically independent.
I'd really, really strongly recommend against it -- there's other electric vehicle manufacturers out there, and most of them are both more economical and more reliable. Teslas are becoming somewhat notorious for things that include killing pedestrians due to design flaws.

Though if musk hasn't personally gone on a sinophobic rant lately, you probably would do well to pay attention to the sorts of folks he's supporting, retweeting, magnifying, etc. He's not a man with much sympathy for the chinese nation, heh.

I'm not even sure if there's a meaningful call to boycott it, just more people bringing awareness to the fact it's full of racist twaddle and was written by a lost causer jackass. Less "you mustn't read/watch it" and more "it and the author's both kinda' shit, you're better off finding something else to do with your time".

You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.
I'unno, from what I've learned of musk's life, there wasn't much of a window to die a hero and it closed at some point before he went into business. So, I mean. Yes? But also, uh.

The only instances I think I've ever noticed were bans on child labor and underage marriage.

... those of you who have been paying attention, may be aware the primary anti-LGBTetc political forces in this country are also the primary protectors of the latter and actively trying to undermine the former.

But yeah, hopefully that was just corporate brainrot of some sort instead of anything legislation related. There's been some remarkably dumb internet related stuff coming out of congress lately, which on one hand is a day ending in y, but on the other hand is, well. Remarkably dumb and everyone with sense wishes they'd just goddamn stop.

Perspective character is at this boring ass upper middle class type house "party", mostly consisting of light music and stilted conversation... heavily contrasted to a short earlier scene at a lower class one of similar intent that mostly consisted of food and video games and general cheer. Other character starts talking about the rainy weather forecast for the next day, really mundane, boring stuff.

Viewpoint cut to outside the building: Pterodactyl Interrupt. It has these black oval looking things on the wings with a glowing green circle around the outer bits. It pulses, there's this wave of something, and then the ground starts shaking.

Social gathering thing is promptly disrupted by a stegosaurus going through the front wall as the first arrival of a murderous dinosaur stampede. Everyone panicking, half the attendants already dead, in response to someone saying "RUN!" someone else makes the pointed observation "Run where!?"

Perspective character character ends up deciding "maybe upstairs??". Beyond the clear impression that's not going to help because the building's going to shortly collapse due to dinosaurs crashing through it, this turns out to be an immediate mistake as some kind of raptor/dragon hybrid looking fucker is already coming down from upstairs. Wake up as toothy maw is coming straight for the viewpoint character's face.

... I'm not sure if it was worth waking up at 5 in the morning for that, but there's worse ways to get woke up early. Production values immaculate as always, premise absurd but awesome, easy 7 out of 10 as dreams go. Today's forecast: Rainy with a chance of dinosaur attacks.

"But what's second?"

"There is no second. He just sits there, crying and sermonizing about badgers. I never wanted to hear the parable of the badgers of the holy see, but here we are."

E: Though as thoughts go, it occurs to a person that if you dumped a crate full of badgers into one of those giant crowds of religious worshipers, people would probably end up dying. Badgers themselves might not hurt anyone, but crowd crush is real and terrifying and probably what happens when people notice there's a pile of distressed badgers nearby.

Why would you take air travel for a 25 minute flight instead of driving or something else? That's at most, what, 200 miles?  That's far below my cutoff for "drive, don't fly."  Basically I don't fly if I can drive in 8 hours or less.
There's a pile of possible reasons, from lack of other connecting transit infrastructure (where I'm at, there's places I could get a flight to within that distance, but not, say, a bus, because US transit is fucked up and there's places with connecting airports that don't have a reasonable bus route between them) mixed with inability to drive, to various sorts of liability, to it being cheaper somehow (deals a company has with a flight company, etc.), to whoever's paying for the flight doing it just a sort of "here, you don't have to spend 6 hours on the road today" type of thing, to probably other things beyond that.

Airport wait time can be a pain in the ass, but driving's often exhausting in an entirely different way, on top of being more dangerous. There's a pile of potential whys for it.

Speaking of evolve, something I pulled off the discord:
Spoiler: scripting (click to show/hide)
You stick it in your browser's console, and if you have a resource, it maxes that resource and keeps it there. Suddenly I'm having a bit of fun with this thing and no longer thinking quite so hard of walking away :V

I swear, every goddamn time I take a nap I wake up in pain or otherwise feeling worse. They're so tempting, and often the worst of it's after my body's really insistent that a nap would be an incredibly good idea, but, like. Every goddamn time. Usually, today too, it's a headache from hell.

I'm getting plenty of water so it's extremely unlikely to be dehydration, so, just. I wish I could make it stop, or at least finally have it internalize that no matter how attractive that nap is looking, it's just pain and it's going to make things worse so don't do it. Fucking ow.

The plus to more thing doesn't look like it was reverted, actually, looking? It's... wrong, though. The game they're referencing released as Plus, not More.

Does make me think that's intentional, but coming from someone that's not a native english speaker. Be my best guess if it's not just a troll edit of some sort.
